Drabble 28 // Good Night

“Jimin, can I-… can I-,“ Taehyung sighs, dropping his arm so his teddy bear’s legs brush against the side of his knee cap. It’s dark, the only line of light seeping in through the tiny gap Taehyung left at the door. He raises his head to glance up at Jimin’s sleeping figure again, the boy seeming so deep into slumber. He feels bad for interrupting, yet there’s a tiny feeling, like he knows – or that if he hopes enough – that Jimin is still awake. “Jimin I-“

“Did you have another nightmare?” The familiar voice makes Taehyung jump slightly. He nods, then shakes his head. Stupid, not like Jimin can see. He hears a faint chuckle and pouts. “You nodded, didn’t you?” He nods again, and this time slaps himself. Idiot.

Jimin turns around slowly to face him, and Taehyung swears his legs feel themselves go weak at the sight of the boy’s flawless skin, soft hair brushing against the pillow and bright eyes blinking at him with all the care in the world he ever needs. The elder extends out a hand from under the blankets, and Taehyung spends a few seconds just staring at the fingers he loves to intertwine with his own. He reaches out slowly, and with a warm smile creeping onto his face, slides into bed besides Jimin, slipping his head next to the latter’s chest and finally feeling those firm arms wrap around him comfortably. Jimin his head gently. “Goodnight Tae.” My Tae.

He smiles, snuggling closer. “Good night Jimin.” Thank you.

A sweet kiss on the forehead sends him to sleep.
