Drabble 27 // Running Emotions (like blood)

     “Jimin-ah! Jimin-ah! Jim…” The words faded off as distant echoes as his body lowered slowly to the ground and the strength in his grip over his head and jacket edge became weaker. The milliseconds of each moment expanded so that everything flew slower past his line of sight, until darkness was all he came to realise over him.

Taehyung dropped to his knees and shook Jimin at the waist roughly, then more roughly. But no response. Jimin. Jimin! No answer to his cries. He tangled his wrist under the elder’s neck and raised his body to lean into his chest, the back corner of Jimin’s head – the wounded spot – lying besides Taehyung’s left shoulder blade, and with the unconscious features on his face growing colder, Taehyung began to fear those pretty little eye lids would never flicker or open again.

One last time, he tried. “Jimin…wake up…please.”

But until the ambulance arrived, Taehyung would not even dare to touch the crack on Jimin’s head; despite the blood gradually dripping onto the ground below them, all he did was hold his friend tight, close their distance to a desperate level and hope and pray with every sad whimper that left his lips that Jimin would be okay, that they would go back to before he foolishly stood in place, before his best mate shoved him out of the way and took the wack, before all this happened. He begged with every single sound that strained and ached his throat…that Jimin would survive.
