Drabble 23 // Of Mice And Mayhem

     Taehyung scrunches his nose up lightly in frustration; it's times like this when he can't seem to find his little mouse friend anywhere that he wishes he could smell and hear as well as the stray dogs down the street. He jumps up consecutively onto three carts, higher and higher to get a better view, and finally spots his little friendly rodent nibbling on a small crumble of cheese not too far away. He leaps off the high platform and lands on all fours, trotting over towards the tiny mammal when a familiar, low growl suddenly echoes from close by. Taehyung freezes with one paw mid air, and with sharp head movements, he spots the big dog hiding in the dark alley from the corner of his eye. 

Taehyung gulps and looks ahead, finally getting the attention of his friend, the mouse Jimin, the latter staring right back at him in alert. Taehyung nods once, twice, three- "Jimin! Jump on!" He dashes straight ahead. Jimin drops his piece of cheese and hops onto Taehyung's head; they're zooming down the street and have already turned a corner before the cheese falls to the ground. Barking follows them but Taehyung thinks smart and leaps high onto boxes, managing to step up to a high wall. Jimin grabs small pebbles and chucks them down to whack the rough dogs in the eye and scare them away. Taehyung and Jimin embrace each other and giggle in celebration of their escape. 

"How have you been? Have your owners been nice to you?" Jimin asks Taehyung as he the latter's dirt-specked orange fur and helps to clean it. Taehyung smiles and curls inwards when he feels ticklish. "Good. I miss you a lot though, are you sure we can't just make a hole in the wall so you can live there?" 

Jimin shakes his head and leans on Taehyung's side as the cat sits down comfortably. "It's alright. I like the feeling of knowing someone will always come find me." Taehyung pouts before nodding and tilting his head to the side to Jimin's head, the mouse complaining about being blinded by saliva. They napped for a while together; too close for comfort doesn't exist with Taehyung and Jimin, rather, they can never get close enough.

Author's Note // Ever since a while ago I was thinking, since we couldn't call the 'vmin' otp 'taemin' since it's a SHINee member's name, why don't we try other newer tag names like 'chimtae' or '95line'? Just recently I saw a story with the tag '95line' and it was the only story with that tag, so I think if we try starting off with this, we can help build up the popularity, or like, options lol (and even though there are lots of other arists born in 1995, not all otps are born in that year). What do you guys think? I think I'll add the 95line tag soon to this collection :)
