Drabble 20 // Facade (coloured blue for 'mystery')

     "I'm so sorry. You didn't have to. Your handkerchief is all bloody now." The boy with black shiny hair frowned, wincing as the one with brown hair insists on helping him. "Don't worry about it, it can be washed. I think I should help take you home, where do you live?"

The former lowers his gaze to the ground and his words come out as a mumble. "I...I was just sent away. I don't have anywhere to stay." 

There's a short pause before the brown haired, who introduced himself as Taehyung, smiled gently and walked around to behind Jimin, the boy with the scraped leg, to lift him to his feet. He helps Jimin into his home and offers the boy shelter. 

"No, no! I can't do that! This is your house! I don't want to just barge in and interrupt." 

"You're not, trust me." Taehyung reassures, leaving Jimin on the couch to go fetch a first aid kit. Jimin stares at his distancing figure. Sometimes people just don't know what they're in for. 

     That night the whole house is quiet, so quiet that Taehyung's light snores and random sleep talk almost echo throughout all the rooms. 

He wakes up at three in the morning to send a text, but his first mistake was forgetting to set his phone on silent. The reply comes and the split-moment vibration leads Taehyung to hear the first shuffling sound after hours. He slides his phone under the blankets and mumbles more nonsense because really, sometimes people just don't know what they're in for. 

     Eight in the morning and Jimin's all neatly dressed and waiting in the living room as Taehyung exits his bedroom. "Taehyung! I recieved a call from my parents. They regretted kicking me out and they're happy for me to come home now, so thank you for letting me stay the night. I'll definitely repay you somehow in the future." 

Taehyung blinks once then smiles with an understanding nod. "Do you want me to help you get home?"

"No." The reply comes a bit too quickly. Jimin shakes his head with a sweet smile and heads for the door. He's gone in the next twenty seconds, but Taehyung knows he'll be back. He walks over and plops himself down comfortably on the couch, swinging the USB in his finger amusedly. A smirk pulls at his lips. "No one gets away from me that easily."
