Twenty three

The way you change my life

23

There were many things about school that didn’t make sense. Or they just seemed useless. Like uniforms; he really hated them, they made him feel like he couldn’t express himself, forcing him to be someone he wasn’t.

Then there was the hair code. What? Did they think that the colour of the hair influences someone’s capacity to learn? That was bul… Erm… nonsense.

Then the formation every Monday morning; what was the use of that??!! Make them sleep deprived wasn’t enough, so they decided to make them stand for half hour under the tempest. Ok, he was making up the last, but that didn’t change the fact that they deprived them from their sleep.

Useless things are useless. That’s what he thought and he was sure it wasn’t going to change anytime soon. He didn’t complain at the basic knowledge they were given at school; no, because he knows there are some things people needs to at least know, but he seriously preferred to be taught at home, like he was when he lived in America. At least there he could difference fake from real.

But that’s not the point.

Schools were tiresome and dull and their dressing codes were useless. Sure, he met new people, but that wasn’t worth his sleep, his comfy clothes or his messy hair. Home teaching was so much better in his opinion. For a start, you could go faster or slower according to your own pace. In School the teaching was too slow for his liking —and too fast for the other students.

And what he hated the most about school was their teaching methods. Everybody had the same classes. What was the point on that, he didn’t know, but he was sure it was useless for everybody to have more than just general knowledge about certain things. It’s not like they’ll use everything they learn, so it would be a lot easier if they were able to choose just what they wanted to learn. That way they wouldn’t be forced to do things they don’t want to do. Like cutting a frog open.

He was in his biology class and the teacher at the board was explaining them the functions of the heart and the circulatory systems. And for the practice they were supposed to cut open a frog and see how his circulatory system works.

He really didn’t want to do it. He had always liked frogs —they were so green, so wet and so slippery--, he found them cute. And yet he was using a scalp to cut its chest.

What had done the poor animal to deserve such faith? If you may ask him it was definitely a horrible faith, a horrible way to die (and useless, by the way). Well, of course they drugged them before cutting them open. It would be really, really painful for them if they didn’t. But then again, weren’t there some stories about people who were able to feel but unable to move while been in the middle of a surgery? What if those frogs were like that too? What if they could feel? Were they suffering? Was Tod suffering? He better do it faster and more carefully. That way it would be over soon and Tod wouldn’t have to suffer anymore.

He checked his biology book and listened to what his teacher was saying. Carefully, he made a clear cut and separated the layers of skin and muscle until he reached the ribs, which he opened very carefully. The ribs made a little horrible cracking sound as he opened them and he was sure he would have nightmares about it.

Luckily for him —and for the frogs— the theory had been too long that they just had a short time for the practice. And soon the bell rang indicating that the class was over.

One by one, the students left the lab, except for one doe-eye brunette. As his classmates left, Hyunseung noticed there was still a frog in the crystal cage where had been the others before they were assigned one for every two students. It was the only one that hadn’t been used that day.

Having a closer look of the frog, Hyunseung noticed it was little compared to his other friends. That’s probably why it hadn’t been used, because it would be too hard to open it without cutting the important parts.

Hyunseung smiled. At least one of them could survive. Or so he thought until a man from the cleaning personal took the frog and threw it into a plastic bag, where the other dead frogs had been thrown too. And what was worst, he knew where that bag would end.

“Ajushi!” he called before the man closed the bag. The man didn’t spoke but looked at him with questioning eyes. “Let me help you with that.”

Without waiting for an answer Hyunseung hung his backpack on his shoulder and extended his hand, waiting for the man to hand him the bag.

“Oh, this. Don’t worry. I wouldn’t want to trouble any student” He actually looked happy for the offer —it would mean to leave earlier—, but it was his job after all, so he had to decline.

“It’s not trouble to me, sir.” Hyunseung insisted, it was, after all, the only way he could achieve the rescue mission.

The man seemed to think it for a bit, but gave in at the end. Hyunseung, who had been holding his breath, sighed with a wide smile and took the bag from the man’s hands. Without wasting time, he his heels and walked out of the classroom.

If being cut open wasn’t a horrible enough way to die, being burned alive sure was. Hyunseung knew the bag with the dead frogs was supposed to be thrown into the incinerator and he couldn’t let the still alive one to die there too. The poor frog was probably scared just by being rounded by his friends’ dead bodies; Hyunseung couldn’t let him suffer anymore, and that’s why he decided to save him.

And now he did it, what should he do with it? For a start he needed to name it; he couldn’t call it “little frog” forever. So, a name. What kind of name should suit this little friend? He didn’t know.

“Mmmm… how should I name you?” Hyunseung crouched down and held the frog eye level while resting his elbows on his knees. He wanted to see the little face of the frog and find a suitable name for him. Or her.

But a frog isn’t a frog —not a lively one— if they stay still. And sure Hyunseung’s little friend proved what he was when he broke free from the teen’s hold and started hopping away.

Hyunseung followed the frog, trying to catch him, but it was really hard. The frog hopped away too fast and every time Hyunseung was about to catch it, he would just slip through his fingers. But Hyunseung wasn’t going to give up anytime soon, he couldn’t give up. It was too dangerous for a little frog like him —again, or her— to be hopping around in the city, where there were so many people and cars and high heels! What if any of them stepped on the frog? No, Hyunseung couldn’t let that happen.

With that in mind, Hyunseung followed the frog with more conviction. He needed a plan so he created one. Since they frog had his own pace, Hyunseung decided to keep the frog’s pace by hopping like and since the frog would slip through his finger although he might have a tight grip around it, he used to dirt under his sneakers to powder his hands; that way it’ll be harder for the frog to slip out.

Once he was ready, he started again. His new technique seemed to work. Soon, little by little he was getting closer to it, but he didn’t rush. He kept his peace just increasing the length of his hops to get closer and closer until he finally caught it. The frog was now safe in his hands.

Hyunseung had just gotten on his feet when suddenly something rounded his waist. He had no time to react and before he knew it, he was lifted from the floor and pulled backwards. He landed on his back, facing the sky, and just then Hyunseung realised a simple fact: he wasn’t inside the school anymore. There were sound of cars and honks and he could see a traffic light from where he was lying.

Although he had landed on something relatively soft, he hit the back of his head with something hard yet it didn’t hurt as a rock would. And it was when he brought his hand to inspect the back of his head when he realised that his hands were free; the frog was gone.

He had just heard honks which meant he was out on the street with people and cars. This was definitely not a safe place for a little frog. In a fast movement, Hyunseung got onto his feet —he struggled a bit since the surface under him was moving— and started looking around. The frog couldn’t be that far away from him, but it was a frog after all so he couldn’t be 100% sure.

“Yah” a voice yelled behind him as a hand was wrapped above his elbow pulling him, once again, backwards, though this time he didn’t fall.

It was Junhyung.

Junhyung? What was the man doing there? Hyunseung wondered as he blinked in confusion.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” Junhyung asked with irritated tone that matched the look on his face. He seemed to be distressed. “Are you trying to kill yourself?!”

Although surprised by the presence of the elder, Hyunseung was calmed and managed to answer with a blank expression on his face.

“Ani, I’m trying to find my frog”

“A frog?” there was incredulity in Junhyung’s voice and Hyunseung couldn’t help but to smile. It was kind of funny.

Since he knew Junhyung wouldn’t let him go without a good explanation Hyunseung told him the whole story about him and the frog. And since Hyunseung was Hyunseung, he forced the elder to help him look for it.

After looking through the brushes without luck, Hyunseung was starting to think the worst; that it had jumped on the street and that it had been crushed by the passing cars. But luckily he was wrong. Junhyung found the little frog on a trash bin near where they sidewalk.

“He’s a brave guy” Junhyung said as he handed —with a paper— the frog to Hyunseung.

“Yong?”

Brave, was it? Hyunseung thought it was more lucky than brave. Well, it sure had been brave to hop away from him like that, but perhaps it was because the frog didn’t know what the world was like out there, so he had been lucky Hyunseung got him before a car crushed them him. But then again, he came from out there, right? So maybe he did know.

“Then, Yong Bok!” Lucky and brave. Yep, that name suited him.

“You’re giving it a name?” Junhyung asked as the teen smiled at the green animal in his hands.

“Why shouldn’t I?” Junhyung chuckled at that. Hyunseung was weird. “Anyway, what are you doing here?”

Hyunseung was polite. He just wasn’t polite with Junhyung.

“I was in my way from the bookstore and since we’re going to the same place, I decided to pick you guys up” Junhyung explained with a bored face. He didn’t look like he was lying.

“Oh, but Hyuna has already left”

“Has she?”

“Deh, we’re in separate biology classes so she left earlier”

“Oh…”

Hyunseung was about to add that she had left with Kikwang when Yong Bok tried to escape from his hands once more. Luckily this time he was prepared, unluckily it still escaped; but Junhyung managed to catch it before it hoped farther away. Again.

“And what do you plan to do with it now?” he asked, as he handed the frog to Hyunseung —and afterwards cleaned his hand with a handkerchief— “You can’t possibly be thinking on taking it home with you. Doojoon will freak out”

Hyunseung wasn’t sure how he knew, but Junhyung was right, his Doojoon hyung would freak out if he saw the frog. As much as Hyunseung loved frogs, his uncle hated them. And he wasn’t even exaggerating, Doojoon really hated them. That’s why he wasn’t taking it home; he would take it to some place with water and a lot of green.

So far since they met, Junhyung had been somehow kind; he had been kind to Hyunseung. That’s why he didn’t doubt in asking the man to take him to the Han River, because he knew Junhyung wouldn’t say no.

And it’s not like the teen expected him to be otherwise. Everyone was nice towards him.

No matter what he did, they would always forgive him. No matter what he wanted, they would always get it for him. Just like that, with a simple snap of his fingers. As long as they were nice to him, as long he was happy, they would do anything for him.

Too bad Hyunseung despised it. He despised their fake kindness because they only cared about his backgrounds and Hyunseung knew it.

Junhyung had showed him to be the same. Hyunseung had broken a faucet —partly accidentally— at his apartment, but Junhyung said it was already broken when Doojoon arrived; he had made him buy several things he wanted but the elder didn’t need and yet he was forgiven; and even though Hyunseung had made the elder live a hell of a day, Junhyung offered to take care of him while he was grounded.

Did he need more probes? Hyunseung thought no. No one in their right mind would accept to take care of a grounded Hyunseung if they didn’t want something as payback. And, in Junhyung’s case, Hyunseung knew it was to get into his uncle’s good book.

“I told you Han River, not some park” Hyunseung complained irritated to find out they were at a park he didn’t know instead of the Han River.

“If you weren’t Doojoon’s nephew I wouldn’t have bothered bringing you even here” Junhyung said leaning over the window.

Hyunseung turned away from the window and scoffed. Of course he wouldn’t; there wouldn’t be any gain for him. And it’s not like it bothered him. He was already too used to be bothered.

However, there was something that did bother him.

“Take me to the Han River!” he demanded refusing to get out of the car.

“Do you have any idea how damn far from here is that? No, I don’t plan on driving that much”

Junhyung’s bluntness.

He didn’t care about Hyunseung neither about what said kid wanted. Everything he was doing was just because of Doojoon and he wasn’t afraid to say it out loud. He was kind with Hyunseung yet he didn’t hide the fact that he didn’t want to. In conclusion, Junhyung was being kind yet he acted like he wasn’t and that bothered Hyunseung to no end. More that bother, it confused him.

And perhaps that’s why they would often fight.

“Now come out before I change my mind and decide to have frog’s legs for dinner” and saying that, Junhyung opened the passengers doors and pulled Hyunseung out of it. Hyunseung tried to struggled back, but his hands were busy holding the frog still, so his efforts were pretty lame.

“He won’t like it here”

“How do you know he would like the Han River better?”

It was a lost battle, and Hyunseung knew it. No matter what he said, no matter what he did, Junhyung wouldn’t take him to the Han River. Poor Yong Bok would have to live on a park where who knew what animals would attack him. But then again, there would probably be more animals near the Han River than at the park. Perhaps Junhyung had a point.

Hyunseung looked around for a place where Yong Bok could use as a hideout. Once he found it he crouched down and proceeded to say his farewell to the little Yong Bok. Although he knew Yong Bok probably couldn’t understand him, Hyunseung warned the little frog about the dangers of the city, about the cars and humans, and told him he would visit sometime.

He was almost done, when he heard a chuckle behind him, but he didn’t need to turn to know who it was. He knew it was Junhyung.

“What’s so funny?” Hyunseung asked, irritated at the man’s laugh. He probably thought Hyunseung was crazy for talking to a frog he had just saved. Stupid Junhyung, what did he know? Nothing! That’s what he knew! He‘s probably never had a pet, that’s why he couldn’t understand him

“Nothing, I’ve just had a déjà”

That did make him turn around and to his surprise Junhyung was smiling. It wasn’t one of his usual crocked smiles, neither a smirk; it wasn’t the cheap fake smile he was so used to get from “kind people”. It was just a simple soft smile and that made Hyunseung realize he hadn’t seen the man smile like that before.

Somehow, it made him wonder if Junhyung was indeed one of them.

“We better get going. Hyuna doesn’t have a key, you know?”

Hyunseung said his last goodbye to Yong Bok and then he and Junhyung headed to the car again.

They say time flies when you have fun, so maybe they were having a good time because it was already past six by the time they arrived at Junhyung’s apartment. Once again, they found a post it with Hyuna’s whereabouts, Kikwang’s place, though this time the post it was on the front door since she probably couldn’t get in.

Hyunseung was heading to the kitchen after unceremoniously dropping his backpack on the living room when Junhyung stopped him.

“Where do you think you’re going?” He asked while holding him by the upper arm.

Hyunseung blinked twice before answering “To the kitchen” he said with a blank expression on his face, as if Junhyung had asked something obvious.

“You’re grounded. Go do your homework!” Junhyung knew Hyunseung loved to cook, so letting the kid do it would be more a prize than a punishment.

“I’ve done it already” Hyunseung had read a recipe on internet during math class —he had been quick to finish the assignment, so he was surfing the net without the teacher noticing— and he wanted to try it out. Junhyung couldn’t be serious right? Besides, he wasn’t lying about the homework; he did the math homework on literature class and the literature one on biology class, while the teacher was giving them the theory before the practice.

“Then go study something”

“But I want to bake a cake” Hyunseung added silently with a pout as Junhyung pulled him to the living room. That cake had been in his mind all morning and he really wanted to try it. Why couldn’t Junhyung let him do it? It’s not like he wasn’t going to share with him. Ugly and mean Junhyung!

“Cake?” Junhyung said as he stopped abruptly making Hyunseung bump into him and interrupting his track of thoughts.

Hyunseung, who added puffed cheeks and a slight frown to his pout, nodded.

Junhyung, on the other hand, seemed to be thinking deeply about whatever that crossed his mind and after what felt like an hour —less than a minute actually— he turned to the teen, held him by the shoulders and pushed him back into the kitchen.

And without saying anything he left, leaving a dumbfounded Hyunseung wondering what had just happened. Was he allowed to bake? Junhyung said he was grounded so he couldn’t which he thought made no sense at all. It wasn’t the first time he was grounded and he’s never been forbidden to enter the kitchen! Did Junhyung perhaps thought that to be grounded meant to be forbidden to eat?

His track of thoughts was once again interrupted by the sudden appearance of Junhyung who popped his head at the doorframe.

“Make it chocolate” he said and then left again.

Hyunseung blinked few times in confusion before a smile spread on his face. Maybe he wasn’t that ugly and mean after all.

Smiling happily he started collecting the ingredients for the cake. He knew they had bought what he needed the last day he came —because he was the one who added them to the cart—, so he just needed to find them and get started. He found the Flour, the sugar, some eggs, enough butter but there wasn’t chocolate neither pecan nuts. Those weren’t exactly necessary for the preparation, but, since it was Junhyung’s petition, he needed chocolate. However, Hyunseung knew he couldn’t ask the man to buy it because he would simply refuse and then he wouldn’t be able to bake anything, so he had no other choice than to use cocoa and two chocolate bars he had on his backpack.

Once he had all the ingredients on the table he started. Although he had only read the recipe once, Hyunseung already knew it by heart so he didn’t need to read it again.

First he had to place the chocolate, plus the butter and sugar in a heavy-based pan and heat them gently until melted, stirring occasionally. Well, since he didn’t have chocolate, he hydrated the cocoa with milk until it was creamy. Just then he melted the butter, added the sugar and finally the “chocolate”.

After it had cool, he had to whisked the egg yolks into the chocolate mixture, added the flour and the remaining chocolate. He whisked the egg whites until they formed soft peaks, then gently, but thoroughly, he folded it into the chocolate mixture.

Finally he had to purr it into a buttered tin and let it bake into the already heated oven.

“You really do love to cook, don’t you?”

Hyunseung had been so concentrated observing the now baking cake that he didn’t notice Junhyung’s presence on the kitchen, so when the later spoke he was startled to the point that he bumped into the table, making the cocoa bottle fall down. As he was trying to catch it, he ended up spreading cocoa all over the kitchen —and himself— and not being able to catch it, so it crashed on the floor.

Once again, he ended up taking a shower on Junhyung’s bathroom —though this time he had already learned how to use the complicated tap. He was taking his time on the bath, because it was impossible not to take a bath in that awesome bathtub Junhyung had, when he suddenly remembered he had left the cake on the oven and he couldn’t trust Junhyung to look over it.

“Yah! Do you want to catch a cold?!” Junhyung scolded him when he saw him coming out of the bathroom, shampoo still on his hair and only a towel covering his lower half. “Go back and finish your shower” he added as he pushed Hyunseung back into the bathroom. However, the teen struggled back.

“Ani, I need to check on the cake”

“I took it out already.” That caught Hyunseung by surprise. Oh, so he actually knew something about cooking “It was getting too dark, so I decided to take it out before it burned” maybe he didn’t.

“I’m checking on it”

Hyunseung pushed Junhyung out of the way and headed to the kitchen. He needed to see for himself that the cake was fine. What if it wasn’t done yet? What if it was burned?! No, he was…

“No, you’re not”…stopped by Junhyung again “You’ve just gotten out of the shower and you’re all wet, so no, you’re not checking on it”

“But I need to!” Hyunseung insisted as he bounced in his spot, pouting unconsciously.

“I’m not having you catch a cold or even electrocute yourself” but Junhyung was definitely not going to let him. And then for an instant, Hyunseung found the man to be different from what he had thought. He seemed to really care about him. But he screwed it all the same instant.

“Doojoon might kill me”

Hyunseung stopped bouncing and Junhyung used this chance to push the kid into the bathroom once again, not noticing the change in the kid’s behaviour. Why should he anyway? It’s not like he cared about him; Junhyung probably didn’t even like him, so why should he care? It was fine. Hyunseung was used to people who didn’t care about him. He already was used to it. They only cared about his Grandfather or his Doojoon Hyung; they always did, so why should it be different? The only difference was that Junhyung had been sincere with Hyunseung and that’s what he’s always wanted, right?

Then why did it hurt?

Maybe he wasn’t as fine with the truth as he thought he was

“What have I told you about walking around there with wet hair?” He heard Junhyung saying as he passed by the living room.

He had just finished his shower and was heading to the kitchen to check on the cake, but his sight got blocked by a towel and then he felt a hand pulling him by the upper arm. Before he knew it, he was sitting on the living room with Junhyung rubbing his hair dry.

Moments like this made Hyunseung think that Junhyung actually cared about him. But Hyunseung knew it wasn’t like that.

“If you catch cold Doojoon might strangle me”

And Junhyung always reminded him that.

It kind of irritated him. Well, at first he liked that Junhyung wasn’t like the others, but at the same time, Hyunseung wanted Junhyung to care about him. And he wasn’t sure anymore if he wanted or not him to be like the others.

“Stop pouting” Junhyung said and just then Hyunseung realised he was pouting. He had been doing it a lot since he met the man. “It doesn’t suit you”

What? A pout didn’t suit him? What did mean by that? That Hyunseung wasn’t cute? That he couldn’t do aegyo?! People always said his pout was really cute —which is why he never pouted— and this man here is telling him it’s not??!!

With the mere purpose of bothering the man, Hyunseung pulled out his lower lip even more and showed it to him. To his surprise Junhyung’s smile grew wider.

“Now I know why Doojoon can’t go… ” Junhyung started again, but Hyunseung decided he’s had enough of this. He slapped Junhyung’s hand away and in a jump he got onto his feet, getting the man by surprise.

“Doojoon, Doojoon, Doojoon; are you in love with Hyung?!”

“Mhwo??!”

Hyunseung was usually the kind of person who would sit and listen to what others tell him. Sometimes he would answer and talk back if needed, but he did it in a really calmed way. Quiet and calmed down, that’s how he was. But he wasn’t perfect; he had many defects and the biggest one was that once he started ranting his anger out, he couldn’t stop.

“Doojoon will hate it, Doojoon will get mad, Doojoon might like it; Doojoon this, Doojoon that; Hyung’s name seems to never leave you lips” he said angrily, his voice getting higher and higher with every word “Just so you know Hyung has someone already, so there’s no…”

He was rambling and rambling that he didn’t notice Junhyung getting up until he felt a pair of hands holding both his arms.

“Wait, wait, wait! What do you mean?” Junhyung asked as he stared at Hyunseung right in the eyes, almost burning a hole through his head. It was so intense that it was hard for him to hold it.

“W-what?” Hyunseung tried to struggle off Junhyung’s hold, but it was impossible, the man was too strong for him.

“Doojoon has someone already. What do you mean by that?”

Hyunseung widened his eyes when Junhyung repeated his words. He hadn’t realized what he said until that moment. Damn it! He said too much. He wasn’t supposed to be saying that out loud, no one had to know and know Junhyung knew. What if his Hyung got into trouble because of it? It will be just his fault.

“Hey, I won’t tell anyone, ok? Just tell me” for a moment there Hyunseung thought Junhyung had just read his mind, but that was impossible, so maybe the other had just read his face; that did was possible.

Hyunseung bit his lower lip while looking at anything but Junhyung. He wasn’t 100% sure what he should do, but somehow, the serious look on Junhyung’s face told him the man was worried. Should he tell him? More importantly, could he trust him? Well, Doojoon had trust him enough as to leave Hyunseung in his care, so maybe he really could trust him.

“It’s not like he’s dating someone” Hyunseung finally said, still not looking at Junhyung, though he knew the man wasn’t going let him get away just with that. “He likes someone”.

Hyunseung hopped Junhyung to let it go at that, but he didn’t.

“And you know who is it” it wasn’t a question, but a statement.

“You know him too” Hyunseung could have lied, but he was really bad at it “It’s Yoseob-ssi”

Hyunseung lowered his head and waited. He waited for Junhyung to start freaking out, to tell him to get out of his house; he waited for the yells, the anger, the disgust. When none of this came, he lifted his head to meet a tensed up Junhyung.

“H-how do you know about Yoseob?”

What should he do? Should he tell Junhyung the truth? Was it safe to tell him? Maybe he should lie. Yeah, he probably should or Junhyung would scold him for nosing into his Hyung’s busi…

Wait a minute. Junhyung didn’t freak out. Why didn’t he freak out? Did he…

“You know about Yoseob?”

“That’s… a long story. Now, how do you know about Yoseob?” Junhyung asked again, avoiding Hyunseung’s question purposely.

“That’s a long story as well” the teen said as he crossed his arms over his chest.

When Hyunseung denied him the information, Junhyung stared at him, hopping that his glare was scary enough to break the teen. However said teen stared back with the same strength he did, not backing away for a second.

Junhyung obviously knew something Hyunseung didn’t and the teen knew something the man didn’t. If Junhyung wanted to the information, they’ll have to tread.

“Fine, don’t tell me”

However, keeping silent was what the older decided. He wasn’t going to risk his neck just for some probably useless information. But that just increased Hyunseung’s curiosity. It must be something really juicy if Junhyung didn’t want to tell him, and he was sure it would be useful.

Hyunseung tried to get Junhyung to tell him how he knew about Yoseob and his Hyung, but it was a lost battle. Every time he mentioned something, the man would ignore him, shove him away, or shove cake into his mouth —surprisingly enough, Junhyung had been right about the cake— just to avoid answering.

“Oh, come on! Let’s tread information” Hyunseung insisted one last time. They were on the living room watching a movie —or more like Junhyung watched while Hyunseung sat beside him glaring holes at the man’s face. “You tell me what you know about them and I’ll tell you how I found out about them”

“Fine, you win. I’ll tell you” Hyunseung’s face lighted up at that “not today, though” and then it fell off again, the pout coming back to his lips. “But you have to promise me something”

So, even when he wasn’t going to hear what he wanted, he even had to make a promise?

“What?” Hyunseung asked irritated. He wanted to know how Junhyung knew and he wanted to know it now! He didn’t want to wait to the day when Junhyung finally decided to tell him. But it’s not like he had any other choice. He couldn’t ask his Doojoon-hyung about it, so, yeah, he had no other choice.

“Don’t tell Doojoon or anyone what you know”

Hyunseung tilted his head to the side while looking at Junhyung wondering why the man would make such a weird request. It’s not like he was going to tell just anyone that his Doojoon-hyung was biual if not gay. Hyunseung wasn’t against it and apparently Junhyung wasn’t either, but he knew that not everyone was like that; not everyone would accept it and he wasn’t just about to send his Hyung to the wolfs cave.

“W-why?” but he still wanted to know the reason for such a request.

“He might lose your custody” Junhyung sighed and then looked at Hyunseung right into the eyes as he said it.

And with that Hyunseung didn’t have anything else to ask. Junhyung was right about that; if his Hyung’s love interest was to known, he might lose Hyunseung’s custody. Hyunseung definitely didn’t want that. It had been hard already to convince his grandparents to let him move to Korea with Doojoon; if this reached their ears, they might force him to go back. So for their sake he had to keep his mouth shut.

Hyunseung chewed softly his lower lip ad he thought of the consequences of his reckless act. What if it wasn’t Junhyung who he told about it? What if they weren’t alone at that moment? He really needed to learn how to shut his mouth when he was angry.

He felt the weight of a hand on his head and then fingers rubbing his hair.

“I won’t tell anyone either”

Although he wasn’t looking at Junhyung, Hyunseung could knew there was a reassuring smile on his face as he said it, but he didn’t want to look at it. He still wondered whether or not it was safe to trust Junhyung. The man had proved to care about his Hyung more than Hyunseung thought he would and maybe a bit about him too.

Fake kindness was as useless as trusting adults. Hyunseung knew that, but perhaps Junhyung wasn’t as untrustworthy as he thought and perhaps his kindness wasn’t a fake as he thought.

Hyunseung lifted his feet to the couch and hugged his knees, digging his nose into the cloths he had borrowed from Junhyung. The soft smell of the clean pyjamas filled his nostrils and before he knew it, he fell asleep.

*NOTE: Young in Korean means brave and Bok means luck.

I’m not sure if I said it before, but I’m sooooooo in love with Yongguk. *¬* so yeah, I was kind of stuck with him them.

Anyway, here is another Junseung chapter! :D

PDDT: by the way, I found this awesome fic on tumblr and I think it deserves to be shared. Highly recommended for every Junseung and Dooseung shipper, because, Hyunseung has that power. xD (if you read it, you’ll get what I mean)

Chapter 28: Finally, i can see your update!!!!!!
I'm so delightful to see some progress in junseung relationship, with still innocent mind but curious cat look hyunseung and caring and softy yet so dense junhyung, i'm suffering to wait patiently when they become a real couple. .
Love you author-nim to make such amazing update!!!!! <3
