Chapter 16
Maybe TomorrowNot knowing where he stands, Ryeowook attempts to avoid Sungah. Sungah gets an unexpected phone call.
Maybe Tomorrow
Mystery Guy:
When Sungah woke, Ryeowook was gone. Where was he? Didn't even say goodbye? She got out of bed and looked around the apartment for him. Yeah, he was definitely gone. Why did he leave?
"Hey, mom?" Sungah stepped in the kitchen, seeing her mom putting something under the sink. "Have you seen Ryeowook?"
"Yeah. He left about an hour ago. He said he's busy today." She answered.
"That's weird, because he told me he had a few days off." Sungah stormed out the room to get her cell phone.
That little brat. He says, "I love you", and then decides to be a baby when she doesn't say it back? Oh was he gonna get it now. She unlocked her phone and pressed his name aggressively with her thumb, putting the phone to her ear.
This boy better answer or I will slap him. No answer. Silent treatment huh? He's being so immature. She called him again. It went to voicemail a lot faster this time. That little brat! He pressed ignore!
"You will answer, Kim Ryeowook." Sungah mumbled to herself. "And you better have a good reason for acting like such a baby."
__
Ryeowook clicked ignore again and tossed the phone across the room, making it land on the end of the couch. He sat on the opposite end, pouting his lip and crossing his arms. He didn't care if he was being immature. He wanted to be angry with her. He needed to be angry with her.
"What's wrong?" Donghae walked up to him, curious.
"Don't talk to me. I'm angry." Ryeowook replied.
"Oh, it's a girl isn't it?" Donghae smirked.
"No!" Ryeowook dramatized his pout.
"Yes it is." Donghae teased, lightly kicking Ryeowook's foot with his own. "Who is it?"
"None of your business." Ryeowook snapped.
"Is this about that girl again? The one you're obsessed with? What's her name? Sung, Sung, Sung... Sung-"
"Sungah! You idiot." Ryeowook pouted, not wanting to talk about it.
"I knew it!" Donghae grinned. "So, what happened? I didn't even know she was back."
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Come on," Donghae teased. "Tell me."
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Just one little detail?"
"No!"
"Why not?"
"Can you go away?" Ryeowook was just one more nerve of annoyance away to locking himself in his room, or strangling Donghae to death. Whichever came first.
"Come on Wook, tell me." Donghae pouted. "What did you do wrong?"
"I didn't do anything wrong. She did!"
"You don't understand. Even if you didn't do something wrong, you did something wrong. Girls never do anything wrong, they're always right."
"What does that mean?"
"I don't know, but that's a rule about women apparently." Donghae crossed his arms.
"You want to know what I did?" Ryeowook unfolded his arms and gripped his hair. "I told her I love her and she didn't say it back. So now I'm avoiding her! Happy?"
"No, I'm not happy, Ryeowook." Donghae pouted cutely. "Why are you avoiding her?"
"Because! I'm grown up and I'm smart now, and I won't be with a girl who doesn't love me and who only tends on playing me. Now leave me alone."
Ryeowook's phone rang again on the other side of the couch. Donghae and Ryeowook gave each other a look. Oh no he wasn't! They both leaped for the phone at the same time, Donghae managing to grab it first.
"Give it to me!" Ryeowook tackled Donghae, reaching to get the phone.
