Chaeyoung looked out the big window like she usually did. Still, Sehun hadn’t returned and it had been a miserable, lonely 2 weeks without him. Her worry had consolidated every day, and her fatigue grew. It was midnight, and the moon seemed like the only source of comfort she could get. She was seated on a rocking chair, her legs propped up against her chest, and her arms wrapped around her knees while she continued to gaze into the distance.
The night was cold, and in her silk nightgown, she could evidently feel the wind seeping through the thin material, caressing her warm skin. She could see her faint reflection echoing from the unopened window.
It reflected a woman with fiery red hair knotted into a limp ponytail, her cheeks were slightly losing their rosy colour and her face was stoic. She let out another stretched sigh, and finally slipped off from the rocking chair.
She was in Sehun’s headquarters. His scent was everywhere in the room, and it depressed her even further. She curled onto his soft bed, and pulled the black covers over her body. She wasn’t pale, neither did she starve herself. She couldn’t stand the idea of making herself wretched, especially knowing that she had to be strong for her girls.
She pulled her lids closed and entered dreamland reluctantly.
Unbeknownst to the girl, a figure entered the room with silent steps. He leaned against the wall and a drowsy, but broad smile leapt onto his lips. He wiggled his fingers through his tangled hair and gazed at the lump under the dusky sheets. Her sweet scent filled his nose, and all his fatigue drained from him. He could only imagine, strolling over to the bed, and embracing his mate in his arms.
Sehun took quiet steps towards the bed, his insides churning from the anticipation of finally retuning home, exactly how he promised. The bed slightly dipped under his sudden weight and he discarded his shoes, pants and shirt, leaving him in his famous Calvin Klein boxers. He moved closer to his sleeping mate and watched her intently through his murky eyes.
He was glad that she didn’t look too exhausted. He ran his calloused fingers through her red strands, and curled them behind her pierced ears. She stirred mildly under his touch, and Sehun retracted his hand so he wouldn’t wake her up. She deserved some decent sleep after dealing with the worry and distress she would’ve experience due to his long absence.
“I’m finally here baby.” Sehun whispered, caressing her cheek. Sehun never failed to be surprised by the softness of her skin. It always felt flawless under his fingertips. “I’m sorry it took this long, but I’ve finally returned to you my beloved.”
Chaeyoung rolled onto her other side, and hugged the sheets closer to her body. Sehun chuckled raspily and moved closer to his mate. He wrapped his arms around her carefully so she wouldn’t wake and breathed in the familiar smell of cotton candy and grapes that always sent Sehun into a sweet, intoxicated frenzy. He placed a small kiss on her trademark, red hair and squeezed her closer to his bare chest, and hammering heart.
“Goodnight baby.” Sehun whispered against her ear and pressed one last kiss on her neck before he slumbered into dreamland, joining his mate.
Chaeyoung was lost in her dream. It felt so real and terribly scarring.
She was barefoot, on
