Chapter 9

Tiffany looked across at Jaejoong standing in the doorway rigidly & was unprepared for the tremulous emotions that flared inside of her. He seemed so moved & incredulously awestruck. She had never seen him like that before. He was always so in control as he had to deal with legal cases everyday & never fazed by anything. That a little boy, Minki, could make such powerful emotions in him.

“How could you, Fany? How could you do this to me?” Jaejoong asked softly in a trembling voice. His face darkened as his eyes had never left Minki’s face. The husky note of emotion in his voice took Tiffany back to reality.

“Jae Oppa, it’s not what you think.” She turned to Jaejoong, the blood draining from her face while her hands were shaking as her fingers touched the table next to her. Her voice dropped to a whisper, “You misunderstood me.”

“Oh, yeah? & tell me what you think?” His voice was raw.

“Oppa.” What could she say? What could she say to him in front of their kids? “Why don’t you take a seat & we will talk later after I drop the boys off at their school?”

“No.” Jaejoong straightened up & his eyes burned into Tiffany’s with anger & disappointed.

Tiffany swallowed hard & took Minki’s hand to sit next to her as her heart was pounding with limbs shaking. Had she been wrong not to tell him about their twins? Had she made a mistake? But it seems like her decision made him angry.

“Please, Oppa?”

“You have a heart to give me the biggest lie in the world. You have a heart to separate me from my own child?” “Oppa, give me a chance to explain.”

He moved closer to Minki from one side & she clutched at the sleeve of his ralph lauren half-zip mock neck polo black jacket with clenched fingers. She looked at him with fearful, desperate eyes, “Oppa, what are you doing? Please don’t scare him.”

He looked down & their eyes met.

“You should have told me about him, Tiffany. You have no right to keep him from me. Don’t you think I have the right to know about him?”

Her eyes shimmered with tears, staring at his eyes deeply. She couldn’t utter any words.

“Tiffany, I don’t mind if you marry somebody else. You don’t want me, it’s fine.” He paused, gasping his breath as he couldn’t control his emotion anymore, “Your happiness has always been my priority but.” He glared at her. His eyes were dark & unreadable while his face was set & something close to anger breaking through the controlled pitch of his voice as he demanded, “Keeping a secret about my son is totally a betrayal to me, to him & to yourself!” When he didn’t hear any word from her, he moved closer & shouted, “You answer me, young lady!”

The angry glint in his eyes shocked her. Tiffany sobbed, “I know. I’m sorry.” She whispered.

“I’m his father.” He muttered coldly, “You don’t need to think about me but think about him, my son.” His eyes were now cold & fury flashing in his eyes.

“Oppa, I do always think about you.”

“Oh, yeah?” He said coldly, “Thanks a lot for thinking about me, about my feelings!” He snapped at her.

She moistened her lips nervously, “I didn’t mean to upset you, Oppa. Really. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” She turned to face him, her eyes huge in her pale face, “I realize this is a shock for you but you have to try & understand that I have never wanted to hurt you.”

“Understand?” His expression was incredulous, “You were pregnant & have our son’s & never told me & now you expect me to understand?”

She started to sob.
