Chapter 10

“Jaejoong Oppa.”

Tiffany turned pale, ‘Oppa wants to them away? How will I survive without my lovely boys?’ She thought desperately. Was he planning on having some other woman come into his life to act as a mother to their children? Incensed, she glared at him. Who did he have in mind? “You can’t take them away from me. Please. You can marry somebody else but don’t take my son’s. You can always have other children in the future.”

He shook his head, shooting her a glance of raw frustration, “Are you comparing me with yourself, Tiffany? I have no intention of letting you & your husband play happy family with my son’s.”

Tiffany finally understood his jealousy. She was the one who made it sound real. He believed that she was married.

“Oppa, what did you have in mind?”

He stared at her with narrow eyes, “Whatever it works, as long as I can take them away. I could make it legal. I’m still a lawyer even though I haven’t gotten my job back.”

Her head was spinning. Suddenly, it was difficult for her to think straight, almost as though she was wading through a thick, chilling fog.

“You haven’t answered me.” He said, flicking her a dark glance, “Is it such a difficult choice to make? If you could say that I can have other kids with another woman, why don’t you do the same thing? After all, you have married him already.”

He studied her thoughtfully, his eyes darkening as he raked her features, ‘I lost her.’ He muttered silently. He grimaced. He saw the sadness in her eyes of losing her son’s, “Fany, I know it won’t be easy for you but have you thought about how it was for me? How do you think I felt when I finally found you & saw you as a married woman with two kids? My kids but they acknowledged my rival as their father? I was desperate, Fany. I couldn’t bear to think that I lose you & I’m not going to stand by & watch another man take my place.”

Tiffany sobbed harder. Her eyes darkened in dismay.

Jaejoong cleared his throat & dragged his mind to where it belonged. His mouth made a rueful shape. His eyes misted, “Do you hate me so much, Fany? You want to keep me at a distance, don’t you? Why? I felt terrible. I felt as though my whole world had collapsed in on itself.” He let out a big sigh, “But I understand now. I don’t blame you for that. I could understand it that you don’t love me anymore but it hurts badly all the same.”

Her heart missed a beat. She stared at him, hardly daring to breathe. Jaejoong had misunderstood. She never wanted to hurt him. She did it for him, only for him.

The silence seemed to last for ages.

“But mommy loves my daddy.” A sudden voice jolted Jaejoong.

Tiffany gave Minki a tolerant smile.

Jaejoong was staring at Minki, “What did you say?” His voice cracked slightly & he leaned forward & looked at Minki & Minho intently.

“Mommy loves my daddy more than anybody in the whole world. She just told me & Minki.” Minho said, & tilted his head to one side, trying to remember what his mother had said before Jaejoong came.

Her face turned red in embarrassment, “Boys, perhaps you should go to your room &...”

“No.” Jaejoong gripped their arms & smiled softly, “Don’t go yet, please.”

Tiffany took in a deep breath.
