It was a regular day. Nothing new. Nothing exciting.
Jung Aeiyong - a 17 year old high school student was doing what she does best: keeping herself busy.
She had a break in between her classes, and she didn’t know what to do. All of the things she needed to be done, was done.
She done almost everything to preoccupy herself. She tried reading a book, eating food, walking about, playing on her phone, studying. But not one thing could take away her boredom.
“Ahh! I’m so bored!” Aeiyong sighed and plopped back onto the chair.
Her best friend - Hwang Ra Im, looked up from her phone. “How many things have you done in the past 20 minutes that could have satisfied your boredom, yet you still complain?!”
Aeiyong pouted. “They didn’t satisfy my boredom.”
“I figured,” Ra Im gave her a bored look.
Aeiyong sank into her chair still trying to figure out what she could do to pass the time. While she was daydreaming, Aeiyong started to sing one of the songs her mother use to sing to her.
“There are loved ones, in the glory
Whose dear forms you often miss.
When you close your earthly stories,
will you join them in their bliss?
Will the circle be unbroken
by and by, by and by
Is a better home awaiting
in the sky, in the sky."
(Courtnee Draper - Will the Circle be Unbroken, Bioshock OST)
Soon after, Ra Im joined in, and the two sang as quietly as they could. Everyone soon heard them, and listened in. They wouldn’t dare interrupt the environment of magnificent skills the two girls were combining.
Once the duet ended, everyone in the library clapped and whistled at the two, making them blush. They stood up and bowed, then exited the library to wonder off around the school.
“I miss our duets,” Ra Im sighed.
“Me too.”
“Oh! Look what time it is! Mian Aeiyong-ah, but I have to go to my next class, I’ll see you later!” Ra Im looked at her watch before running off and waving. Aeiyong still had another hour before her next class, so she would not only be bored, but also alone.
