Loneliness? Was that what he is feeling right now? He didn’t know. He wasn’t lonely at all. There was no reason for him to feel such a thing. His family, his friends and his fellow members were all with him. Even though they went there physically, they were there in his heart. No, he wasn’t lonely.

There are people in the world scared to be alone. Monophobia it is called, the fear of being alone in a room all by themselves. But was that really the case? Fear of being left alone in a room. Was that really what they were scared of? Or was it something else. Rather than being scared of being alone, could it be that they were scared of being left. Watching the person you love walk away. Their backs turned to you and slowly fading away before it is finally brought to nothingness. The fear of someone leaving you and never coming back again… that was what he feared the most.

      Droplets of sweat fell onto the stone floor below. Chains bound his arms and legs on the grey, cold brick wall that stood behind him. His head hung low, taking in deep consecutive breaths which pained his chest. The maknae could no longer see ahead of him as his vision became a deep crimson red. Blood mixed with sweat and dirt covered his body and dripped down from his head. Bruises marked his perfect pale white skin. A single ray of moonlight fell on the younger’s skin through a small, barred window. It shined brighter than anything and made his skin look as if it was glowing.

      A man with short light brown hair sat in front of him on a wooden chain. His arms and legs crossed as he watched the younger heave painfully. A lit cigarette in his mouth released a smoke of deadly fumes. The young devil gave a small throaty chuckle.

“What is there to laugh about?” Maybe it was the fact that the young devil didn’t understand what kind of position he was in. Maybe it was that he was starting to go crazy or even begun to give up. The man didn’t understand what was going on inside that small boy’s head. Those pure eyes when the benefactor first met him could no longer been seen. The bright smile of his didn’t exist anymore. 5 years of loneliness has made the maknae weak and vulnerable. Sungjong missed them, he missed them a lot. But for them, he could only grow stronger. During the years, a wall was being built to protect him and his loved ones. 5 years and counting made the wall stronger and taller. Only one could pray for it not to crumble.

“Your idiocy.” The man bit onto his cigarette out of anger before spitting it on the floor somewhere. They had been in the interrogation cell for almost 7 hours straight, a new record for both the young devil and the boss. Being in that room for so long made the older man grow more and more impatient, resulting in him being less likely to that the maknae’s crap. He had grown use to the foul smell and he didn’t like it.

      A small rustle and spark came from the cigarette before burning out from the coldness of the ground. He stood up, grabbing the discarded leather whip which was beside him on the floor. Lightly hitting his own palm with the whip, he walked over to the young man. Best described as a handsome young man who stood at 6ft tall was who the boss was, much to Sungjong’s dismay. A white mask covered his face like all the other bosses (they had worn it during their first battle 5 years ago.) but Sungjong could tell he was handsome even with it on. His body language spoke confidence as well as arrogance.

      The devil didn’t budge from the whipping sound coming from the other. By now, he was already use to it. Sungjong’s piercing eyes watched the man’s every step as the other walked closer and closer in a blurred red colour. Suddenly, Sungjong felt a piercing sting on the left side of his rib. He didn’t even see the whip being used on him. Everything was too fast for him to even notice anything. He wanted to cry in pain. He wanted to call out to the rest of them, asking to be saved but he couldn’t. The pain wasn’t that bad, or so he made himself believe. Out of habit, he bit on his lip hard. The action was enough to draw blood.

“This will hopefully teach you to watch your dirty mouth.” The man growled. With each swing of the whip, his eyes sparkled more. If I can’t have him, no one can.

      Like everyone, the benefactor had been highly drawn to the maknae because of his beauty. It outshone everyone, second to none. He did everything, using every nasty trick in the book to win the maknae when it came to choosing which devil belonged to which benefactor. Before the capture, he did try to woo the said boy.
