The lights flashed green as a 'go' as I made my way to Monroe Hotel.

"Yah! Wait!"

I braked hard as I was about to run someone over. Instead of falling flat to the ground in front of the car, the lady stood lifelessly as if she had seen her life flashed before her eyes. I looked at her and at that moment we had a decent 10 second eye contact. "S-S-Sunmi..." I said as I notice who it was.

"Yah!" this other person called out to her. She immediately walked away as this random guy went after her. At that moment there were many things running through my mind. What was Sunmi doing with that guy? Isn't she with Jin? Where's Jin? Wait, why should I even care? Idiot, you care because Jin is your best friend, said my other half. I shook my head as the cars behind me beeped at me.

"Here is the information about building another Monroe Hotel in Jeju Island," said Mom as she handed me the documents when I had arrive to the office, "The land is owned by Bang Yoonji, Chairmain of A&S. I'll be meeting with them tomorrow and I want you to go with me,"

"Already?" I said, "Wait, I thought we own some land there also," 

"We do, but we already used it up for the strip malls. Besides, I want it near the ocean," she turned around to me, "Jaehye, what have you learned so far from business school back in America? Didn't they teach you about profits, contracts, and money?" Mom smiled, "I'm just kidding. I guess I'm just glad that you and Junhong are back home after five years of studying abroad,"

"I'm glad too," I said. "I'm glad that I finally get to work by you and dad's side,"

She sigh in relief, "That's good to hear. Let's get going. I want to introduce you to some co-workers," I followed her to her office. Once we entered, there were a few people who stood there waiting for her. "Woah, I guess everyone found me first before I found them," joked Mom. She settled down at her desk as I stood beside her, "Everyone, meet my daughter, Choi Jaehye. She will be working with us from now on as the President of the hotel,"

"Annyeongsayo, I'm Choi Jaehye. Please give me your guidance from now on," I bowed.

"This is Vice President, Kwon Jiwon," I bowed to her, "And General Manager, Ahn Jinhyung," I bowed to him. 

"Your daughter is very beautiful," complimented Jiwon.

"Thank you," said Mom, "She is a beauty," I smiled at her. My mother and them talked more about the new opening of the hotel in Monroe. I wasn't sure if I should join. First off, we don't even know if A&S will make a contract with us or not. Plus, I want to check the place out. My mom said it was by the ocean, and she loved it, but I wasn't sure if the ground is able to hold a 10 story tall and who-knows-how-wide building.

As they were in the conference room, I was out scanning my mom's office. Her secretary came in and served me tea. I thanked her as she left. Coffee wasn't much of a thing to me anymore after I turned 21. I was told it was bad for your eyesight and teeth. I began to sketch out how the hotel would look like if we did make a contract with them. The hotel would look modern on the outside, but on the inside, it should be traditional. "We shall discuss more later on once we have made a contract with A&S," I heard my mother say. They all headed out the room and bid their farewells.

"Well, that was long," I said, "I could've slept in at home instead,"

My mom smiled, "Stop complaining. This is going to be your spot soon enough,"

"Oh, gosh, no," I joked.

She laughed, "Jaehye ah, I ordered you a dress last night, and Junhong a suit. If you don't mind, may you pick it up? I was planning to, but I have to go into a meeting at noon,"

"Yes, I can," I answered, "What are they for?"

"Oh, your father wants to have a family dinner tonight so we're going out for dinner," she smiled, "It has been a quite a while since we've all sat down together,"

"I see, alright. I will. Where will it be? Junhong and I was planning to go cruise around town today,"

"Cruise?"

"I promised him I'll take him out after school today if he didn’t miss the first day of school,"

My mother laughed at me, "It's at Goraebul, 7 o'clock. You two better be there on time,"
