Vain: 7 YearsJaehye’s POV
I waited at the office for Yongguk to show up. He was 10 minutes late, and our meeting with Ottogi Corp. was less than an hour. I paced back and forth around my office waiting for at least a phone call from him, telling me that he won't be able to make, or at least saying that he'll make it to the second meeting with S Company. However, my expectations weren’t really high from Yongguk. I don’t know why mom made an agreement with them when their son isn’t even playing his role correctly. Ms. Bang must be dealing with a lot from him.
I was starting to get irritated. My office phone rang and I picked it up instantly, thinking it was Yongguk. Unfortunately, it was Secretary Yoon telling me that Ottogi was already in the meeting room. I sighed as I hung up. "I guess I always have to do things on my own huh," I mumbled. I head toward the door and right then, it swung open revealing Yongguk trying to catch his breath. "Yah! I thought you stood me up!" I said, a bit relief.
"Sorry. I had run some errands," he said. I raised an eyebrow at him, “Errands? Bang Yongguk, the son of A&S, runs errands?” He grins at me as I roll my eyes. “Whatever,” I twisted him around and pushed him out, "Let's go! We’re already late for our first meeting already!"
"What!? Now!? But noona I just got here!" He whined.
"That's what you get for not being here on time," I chuckled as we ran to our meeting. We didn’t bother to knock as we entered immediately.
"Annyeongsayo, I'm Bang Yongguk, the son of A&G, who's working with the daughter of Monroe Hotel," he bowed.
"Annyeongsayo, I'm-"
This person that stood before me stuttered, "J-Jaehye nu-noona..." My throat was dry and I couldn’t find my words. Jinyoung pierced his lips together as his dad gave him a weird look. “I’m sorry. You look so familiar to someone I know,” Jinyoung said.
"It’s alright, I get that a lot,” I replied. “I'm Choi Jaehye, the president of Monroe Hotel, and the one who called yesterday. I am thankful that you guys took the time out of your schedule to come see us this morning," I gesture for them to sit as Yongguk and I sat after. As I spoke to Jinyoung's father, I could feel Jinyoung's stare piercing through me. From time to time, I would glance at him but then he would be looking at Yongguk... Wait... Why was he glaring at Yongguk? I took a quick glance to Yongguk, and he was doing the same. The two looked like they were plotting each other’s death inside their minds.
"I would love it if we can work together to attract many tourists who'll be coming to Jeju Island," I said to Mr. Park. “I would hate to give this offer to someone else,”
"I would love to work with you guys also. Besides, your father and I have been friends in the business world for a long time. It's just that I never knew he had a daughter," I scratched my head and chuckled a bit. "You said that everything would be beginning the first of November, right?" I nodded. "That'll be great. I'll send Jinyoung to come along wit
