I hurried down the street, darkness falling around me as I approached ‘Le Maison Bleu.’ I could see a figure waiting outside, talking to another figure as I drew closer and pulled my cardigan which I grabbed last minute, further around my shoulders. I recognised one of the figures as Hakyeon, the other I couldn’t work out until I was almost next to them.
“Oppas!” I exclaimed as I drew closer. Both Hakeyon and Taekwoon looked at me in surprise before smiling. Hakyeon soon pulled me closer to his body, both of us needing the heat as it was past daylight hours by now.
“Hi babe,” Hakyeon smiled. I glanced at Taekwoon, noticing his small frown before he looked at me and whispered a quiet ‘hello’.
“I didn’t know you two knew each other,” I tried making conversation once a silence had fallen over us. Taekwoon just nodded, punching Hakyeon in the side before looking at his feet. It felt awkward, like I had interrupted something important or something they didn’t want me to know.
“I need to go,” I looked at Taekwoon in surprise as he spoke what I believed was the longest phrase I had heard leave his lips.
“Yes we should go as well, I’ve got us cinema tickets,” Hakyeon announced proudly before tugging on my sleeve. He pulled me along as he headed down the road, only letting me send a small wave to Taekwoon before we disappeared.

“Popcorn?” Hakyeon asked as he pointed to one of the many plaques above the counter. I nodded, humming as my eyes ran across the bags of chocolate that lined the walls. I hurried forwards, plucking a bag from the rack before running back to Hakyeon at the counter.
“Can we get these?” I wasn’t aware that I pouted a little. It obviously didn’t work though as Hakyeon shook his head. I trudged back to the racks; pausing when the thought ‘Jongin would have said yes’ flashed through my mind. Stopping, I shook my head as though it would shake the idea from my brain, only to feel slightly dizzy when I straightened up.
“You ok?” I looked to the side and saw Hakyeon approaching whilst he handed me a drink. I nodded, sending him a small ‘thank you’ before taking his hand and heading towards the theatre.

“Thank you, I really enjoyed myself,” I sighed as I planted a kiss on Hakeyon’s lips. The film wasn’t the most riveting thing I'd ever seen but just being able to sit next to my boyfriend, holding his hand in the sad parts and hiding in his neck during the scary parts was enough for me: even if his eyes had been on the two girls giggling at the front.
“I enjoyed it as well,” he smirked and pulled me into a hug. I couldn’t help but feel as though he didn’t want to go out with me, that he was doing it for another reason. A blush formed on my face as I pulled back and pecked him on the cheek; determined to ask him if he really wanted to be in this relationship.
“Oppa?”
“Hmmmm?”
“I ... nothing,” I sighed again before giving him one last kiss and slinking into the house. I watched through the spy hole as he stood by the closed door for a moment, touching his lips before sauntering back to his car. A small smile graced my lips, butterflies in my stomach, as I moved through the house. No-one seemed to be about as I looked in the kitchen, frowning as I pulled a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water.
Taking a sip, I walked leisurely into the sitting-room. I stopped dead though as the glass slipped from my hand and shattered on the floor. The girl sitting in the room jumped in shock before looking at me through wide eyes. She didn’t look like she was from Seoul, or anywhere in Asia to be frank but she looked cute all the same in some high-waisted shorts and a cream blouse with blue butterflies over it.
“Uh ... hi ... who are you?” I stuttered as she looked at me through questioning eyes. She didn’t speak, her lips quivering as she looked anywhere else but me, looking for someone in specific. Before I could ask her again, a blundering giant came through the door with two drinks from the cellar in his hands and a bowl of chips under his arm.
“Yah! Sop~ Oh, you’re back Jen,” he greeted me as he nearly dropped the food, the strange girl coming to the rescue and saving the coke from spilling over the floor.
“Yeah ... oh uh ... hi,” I tried again and waved to the girl.
“Jen this is my girlfriend Sophie, Sophie this is Jen one of the many roomies at this place,” Chanyeol explained as he sat down and pulled her closer. She nodded, looking away from my open mouth, embarrassed.
“Hi,” she smiled.
“Yah Park Chanyeol, you got a girlfriend? And you didn’t tell me?” I screeched as I ran forward with my fist raised, ready to attack. Sophie whimpered as Chanyeol’s hand came up and blocked the oncoming punch.
“Hey, you’re not making a good first impression,” he scolded causing Sophie to giggle. I couldn’t help but think she was hiding her true self, the cute aura not suiting her. “And why are you so quiet?” Chanyeol directed at her. I sniggered as she frowned, hitting him over the head, and I knew we were going to be friends soon.
“Ok, ok, sorry baby,” she joked before kissing him on the cheek. I raised my hand to my mouth, fake gagging and causing them both to laugh as Sophie peppered Chanyeol’s face with more kisses as the circle carried on until we were all on the floor with stitches.
“Uh ... is everyone ok?” A tired and stressed Luhan looked at us with suspicion on his face. We all nodded, stopping like deers in the headlights of a truck when Jongin also popped his head around the door. He shot me a look of disgust, probably aimed at my outfit before traipsing off up the stairs with a dejected look on his face and it was in that moment, that I realised why I was with Hakyeon and not my ex best-friend.
