After confession and conclusion had been laid out for some time now, no one said a word after it. They didn’t move either. Just stayed there, waiting for some good news regarding their youngest member’s condition. Myungsoo also had stop crying. He looked rather composed than before. He had so much going on today, but he looked alright.

It was strange, seeing so many doctors and nurses. It was scary. Sungjong had been in danger, and scared the hell out of Myungsoo. It even scarier that his baby, yes, his this time was in danger.

Sunggyu pulled out his phone from his pocket when he felt it vibrated.

He teared away his eyes from the screen before putting his phone back in his pocket and said, “So, the company has alerted Sungjong’s family about this, and they are on their own way here. We have to leave once they are arrived.”

The members all nodded. Myungsoo didn’t look up. He found himself focusing all his energy on not crying and controlling his shaking hands. He was so worried and he wanted to run and hide. Sungjong had been fine. Sure he was on a lot of medicine and he had been on bed rest for a week or so, they said he was okay. Doctor said that Sungjong and the baby were going to make it, so what was going wrong?

Lee Sungjong. Baby. Family. Parents. Mine too.

A doctor walked out and cleared . “I will have a few words with Lee Sungjong’s guardian, please.”

They were not here yet. Immediately, as the leader, Kim Sunggyu got up upon hearing that. But what most shocking was Kim Myungsoo also got up just as fast. Everyone just could exchanging looks with each other. Dongwoo did extra by mouthed awkward.

“Go, both of you. Go!” said Woohyun. Sunggyu put his arm around Myungsoo’s shoulders and led their way, following the doctor just a bit farther from the room.

Myungsoo can’t wait any longer and asked, “Are both of them okay, doctor?” Because I won't be okay if they don't. His face was so worried and in deep grief. Sunggyu put his arm once again around Myungsoo’s shoulders in calming manner.

“He’s going to be okay. Both of them. But I don’t recommend much physical activities for him for remainder of his pregnancy. The baby heartrate is little low,” the doctor continued. “We’ll like to watch him overnight but he should be fine by tomorrow.”

Myungsoo let out a sigh of relief. “Can I see him?” he asked before he could stop himself.

The doctor looked surprised but after a quick one-over, she realized he must be the father. “Of course,” she nodded.

Myungsoo allowed himself a comforting smile. 

“Let us know when it’s okay to see him,” Sunggyu said to Myungsoo. “I want you two have time to talk.. alone.”

Nervously Myungsoo nodded, still smiling, “Thanks, hyung.”

Myungsoo followed Dr. Park to the room. The doctor paused outside the door and let Myungsoo walked in. “I’ll leave you two alone,” she said before walking away.

Slowly Myungsoo stepped into the room. It was stale and white and smelled too clean. Sungjong lay on the bed, pale blue polyester robes on his pale body. “Hey,” he said, his voice faint and hoarse.

“Hi,” Myungsoo replied nervously. “How do you feel?”

“Physically and emotionally hurting?” Sungjong suggested.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for everything I did to you. And.. and I did this to you too. I should not have.. I..”

Sungjong was at the verge to cry, he hated it that he became more emotional now that he was pregnant. It – because he could barely control it and it looked like he was such a wimp.  Undoubtedly, Myungsoo felt just the same. So he took a few steps closer and stood next to the bed.

“The baby..,” Myungsoo began. “If this condition continue, we might as well won’t have to hold a concert. The baby is ruining things for the whole team and as well as the company and I can’t stand it,” Sungjong said roughly.

“Please don’t say it like that. We don’t blame you for anything. This stuff just.. happens, alright. Please don’t be mad at the baby,” Myungsoo said softly. 

Sungjong turned to glare at Myungsoo. “I’ll be mad at whoever I want to be. This baby is messing up everything!”

Myungsoo was nervous and took a sit on the end of Sungjong’s bed. “Sungjong, our baby is a miracle!”

Myungsoo froze and Sungjong’s expression dropped. He stared at Myungsoo. His voice shook as he asked, “Wh.. what?”

Myungsoo was too focus on summoning the courage to say what he needed to that he didn’t hear the shuffling of feet behind him. Sungjong just stared up at Myungsoo in shock as he uttered the words Sungjong wasn’t sure he was ready to hear.

“Sungjong, I’m the father.”

Sungjong stared up at Myungsoo with watery eyes. His breath caught in his throat and he couldn’t comprehend it. Sungjong stared at Myungsoo in confused while the Lee family was already here, standing in the doorway of their son’s room, together with the nervous Infinite members, frozen to the spot as they listened Myungsoo uttered those words. 

Sudden memories flooded Sungjong’s head, playing one by one like continuous, exhausting movies, and Sungjong felt suffocated. Fat tears rolled down his checks without him even realized. “But.. we..,” he trailed off.

Not caring of the auditions, “I guess thing can break?” Myungsoo offered weakly.

Sungjong’s eyes shifted to his hands. It was too much to take in. Things weren’t supposed to be like this. Sure, he had feelings for Myungsoo but they weren’t supposed to start a family or anything. This wasn’t supposed to happen. “One time...,” he said with a dry laugh.

“Wha- what happened to Yeol hyung?” Sungjong asked weakly. 

So, Sungjong also had the idea the baby’s father was Sungyeol. It kind of hurt Myungsoo in any possible way but he had worse, so he just brushed it of and answered, “Nothing had happened between you and Yeollie other than sharing not so innocent kiss.”

“Are you sure? Or you just want things go on your favour?”

“I’m so sure of it. I really am, Jongie.” 

Choking back emotions, suddenly Sungjong’s face turned red, his eyes laced with so much hatred, ready to murder the man before him. “But as I recalled, you don’t love me. You don’t need me, so I don’t need you. Get out! Get out from here! I don’t want to see your face! This is my baby, mine alone, it’s nothing to do with you!”

“You can’t deny my rights on my baby, Jongie!”

Sungjong let out disbelieve chuckled, “Look at you, talking about baby and all. You are so unbelievable, aren’t you? I demand a paternity test!”

This was where Sunggyu and Hoya stepped out and tried to drag Myungsoo out from the room. “Come on, buddy lets go!” Sunggyu said whispery to Myungsoo who was already cried his eyes out. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I don’t mean anything! Please, Sungjong-ah!” he pleaded.

Sungjong’s parents quickly took their places next to their son, to calm him down, while Sungjong’s younger brother
