Chapter 18; Part 1
The Perfectly Imperfect MistakeBending the truth a little was fine at first, but now it just changed to double edge sword. This was not a punishment to Myungsoo but also himself. His chest, his heart wasn’t felt at ease at all. In fact it felt more tight than ever.
Sunkyu knew this as soon as he took a glance at his brother. He needed to use the toilet, and it was more less than three hour since Myungsoo and Sungjong’s meeting, he guessed it was safe to step out from his room. He prayed so hard he didn’t walk on his brother making out or something with Myungsoo, but instead he saw Sungjong was watching tv. After he finished his business, he took a seat next to his brother. Sunkyu wore his confuse face as his brother laughed his off. The joke wasn’t that funny, and usually Sungjong was that one person who wasn’t laugh easily. Sunkyu knew something was off. His brother was upset.
“Hyung, what happened?” his voice was soft and full of concern.
“You see this, Kyu? I never knew this programme was this funny.” There was still a trace of laughter in his voice.
“Sungjong hyung,” Sunkyu’s voice was a bit stern this time. That took Sungjong’s attention. He stopped laughing immediately.
“Hyung. Jongie hyung.”
Sungjong turned off the tv.
“Talk to me. Hm?” Sunkyu pleaded. He wasn’t expecting his brother to look at him with teary eyes, looking so broken than ever. He thought his brother would yell at him to mind his own business, to leave him alone.
He hurriedly hugged his older brother. “Oh my God. I’m sorry, hyung, I’m so sorry.” Sunkyu didn’t know why he was apologizing but it seemed a proper thing to do. Sunkyu’s heart clenched with pain and regret. He might shared a fair amount of guilt because he thought if Myungsoo and his hyung met, things would at least became less complicated. He did plan all of this, thinking it was a good thing to do. He never imagined he just made everything worse. It was never his intention. “I’m so sorry, Jongie hyung,” he said repeatedly.
Sungjong bawled his eyes off. He slurred some of his words like It hurts so much, Make it stop please, Come back to me, I still love you so very much; and Sunkyu cried with him that night.
Myungsoo had experienced being broken heart before, but nothing like this. He felt so suffocated, he can barely breath or seeing things in front of him clearly because his sight got blurry from all of his tears that seemed like not gonna stop so soon now.
He was at the end of his wits.
He realized he needed to talk to someone.
Someone he can trust.
Someone who wouldn’t judge him.
Someone comforting.
“Hello, Yurim noona. Sorry for bothering you this late but I really need a shoulder to cry on, I’ll be at your place in about fifteen minute. Lets meet up somewhere, and bring soju, too. Lots of it. Please?” he hung u
