There was never anyone suited to love the king. All contenders either wanted the money or the power of the king. Never once did the king doubt the contenders that came and went, for he was too kind and naïve to notice.

Except one day, a handsome fellow of great build and tremendous height waltzed into the king’s life, never to fully leave it ever again.

His name was Chanyeol, a slim and lanky boy who served as a bodyguard to the king. His every move revolved in keeping the young king out of harms way. Until that day he stopped and looked at the king. Really looked at him and noticed the fine curving of his jaw, the accented lips that looked so small and smooth, and of course his beautiful body.

To Chanyeol, the king was the most beautiful boy he had ever seen. Day in and day out Chanyeol would sit and think how much better he would be for the king instead of those filthy contenders that went in and out of his room as they pleased. The king deserved better than that, and Chanyeol could see in the king’s eyes, the longing for a better partner.

This desire within Chanyeol lasted for three years. Always being in the king’s presence, but never being able to tell him his true feelings. It killed Chanyeol to know that the king would never he his to hold, until one night, when all was quiet and calm, Chanyeol snuck into the king’s room.

As he approached the sleeping king, Chanyeol couldn’t help but notice the soothing look upon the king’s lifeless face. He reached out and touched the king’s cheek and rubbed it softly with his thumb. Chanyeol needed the king, he wanted the king, and standing above him made his desire burn.

Soon, the king fluttered his eyes open upon the sweet caress, and jumped from Chanyeol’s grip. “What are you doing here Chanyeol?” The king sat up in bed and looked down at the now kneeling Chanyeol. “Your majesty, I am here to profess the love and desire that consumes me.” Tears were now flowing down out of Chanyeol’s eyes, and the king couldn’t help but be touched at the sudden confession. But the king knew better than to fall in love with someone that was not of royal descent. Baekhyun was wary of Chanyeol’s feelings. “My dear Chanyeol, you know it is not right for you to be in love with the king.”

“Your majesty I cannot shut these feelings that I have for you out.”

“Oh but you must my dear, for you do not know what love is.”

“But you consider the filthy people that walk in and out of here reasonable partners?” Chanyeol felt angry and rejected. How could the king possibly think that those men were even worth his time? Baekhyun shifted in his bed and sat beside Chanyeol.

“Listen, how dare you talk bad about my contenders?”

“They are nothing your majesty, I can be more than that, I can show you how to love.”
