-Lunch-

‘Joongie~’ Byul whined ‘Gimme more food’

Jaejoong eyes twitched ‘YAH! You already ate 3 boxes!’ he scolded ‘stop eating! Your going to be fatter then a whale!’

Byul pouted ‘I won’t be fat! So give me more!’ She whined

Dambi giggled ‘Here, Byul you can share with me. I have too much to finish anyway’ she said

Byul smile widely ‘Dambi is the best!’ she beamed and crawled towards Dambi

‘YAH! Don’t take other people’s food!’ Jaejoong scolded as he grabbed her by the back of her shirt to stop her from getting close to Dambi

‘Food! Food! I want food!’ Byul complained fighting against Jaejoong

‘Let her be. She’s hungry. Why are you forcing her to stave herself.’ Yunho stated

Jaejoong shot a glare at him ‘You just stay quiet!’ he snapped and turned his attention back to Byul ‘YAH! Just leave Dambi alone and I’ll give you some of my food!’

Instantly Byul stopped and grinned at Jaejoong ‘YAY! We’re sharing lunch!’ she cheered and went eating down the food in Jaejoong’s lunch box.

Jaejoong rubbed his head ‘why is it like this?’ he questioned himself sighing

‘Here, have some of mine’ Dambi offered some of her food with a smile

Jaejoong face turned red as a happy smile came on his face ‘Thank you Dambi’ he said before taking the offered food ‘YUM! This is really good. I never knew you cooked so well’

Dambi giggled ‘actually all I did was chose it at a local store.’ She said smiling

‘ah…well you have good taste’ Jaejoong said rubbing the back of his head embarrassed

At this Yunho smirked at Jaejoong’s stupidity ‘Babo.’ He stated

‘AISHI! YOU JUST STAY OUT OF THIS!” Jaejoong snapped at him

‘Hahaha you guys are such good friends’ Dambi said

‘Like Sun and Moon’ Byul added with full

‘DON’T TALK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL!” Jaejoong scolded

‘Neh, Umma Joongie~’ Byul sung teasingly

‘Byul when’s your birthday?’ Dambi suddenly asked as she was reading a book in hand

Looking at the book Dambi was reading Byul smiled ‘Horoscopes?’ she questioned

‘Dambi smiled and nod ‘It’s truly fascinating.’ She said

‘Well I’m a Cancer’ Byul said

‘Aww…’ Dambi pouted ‘our star sign compatibility is really low.’

Byul chuckled ‘ of course. But we’re great friend is it not?’ she said

Dambi smiled and giggled ‘that’s true.’ She said happy and turned looking at the guys ‘what about yours?’

‘Aquarius’ both Yunho and Jaejoong answered

‘It’s said we’re very compatible ‘ Dambi read smiling

Jaejoong felt his heart doing flips, with a big smile he was beaming

‘Yunho has the same star sign as you.’ Byul said running Jaejoong’s mood

Jaejoong growled ‘I didn’t need to know that!’ he mumbled ‘and at least you know that we’re not compatible’

Byul smiled ‘Opposite attracts’ she grinned

- Wishing Shop-

-Jihyo Pov-

‘We’re Home~’ I heard Byul sung entering the shop

I smiled as I was out in the back yard, drinking Tea with Max and eating snacks.

‘Welcome home’ I greeted Byul and Jaejoong with Junsu and Micky by their side.

Byul happily sat beside me and joined, while as Jaejoong was smiling ear to ear.

‘Do you need more snack? I’ll happily make some more!’ Jaejoong beamed ‘Name anything you want and I’ll make it!’

He was clearly too happy from usual. I glanced at Byul, who was eating while pouting and just from her expression i knew what this was about.

With a bored look I turned my attention back to Jaejoong with a ‘what’s up with you today’ look.

‘Do you wanna know?’ He beamed

‘Do we really need to?’ Max joked

But still Jaejoong went blubbering about it

‘But that’s just according to a solar horoscope.’ I said

‘Solar horoscope?’ Jaejoong questioned

‘what about the positions of the moon, and Venus?’ I questioned ‘if you don’t create a proper horoscope, you can’t tell how compatible you really are.’

‘Which really you guys aren’t’ Byul said

I smiled at her childishness but returned giving Jaejoong a bored look.

‘Jaejoong… do you like divinations?’ I asked

‘Nope. Not at all’ Jaejoong answered

I stood up with a smile ‘alright. Let’s go then.’ I said

Byul smiled widely ‘Yay~ trip with Unni~’ she beamed standing up along with Max

‘Let’s go~’ Max sung

‘What…’ Jaejoong said confused.

-Outside-

‘So where are we going?’ Jaejoong asked

‘ I was thinking I’d show you what real divination is like.’ I answered

‘Yeah, but I already said I’m not interested in it.’ He said

‘But that girl you like is, doesn’t she?’ Max commented with a smirk

Jaejoong stopped for a bare second before grinning widely ‘Let’s go then! Lead the way!’ he beamed

Byul who was unhappy with Jaejoong’s 180 degrees change, jumped on his back.

‘WHOA! What the heck!’ Jaejoong cried startled

‘You can’t be this happy about another girl’ Byul said annoyed

‘Yah! Hey! Get off!’ Jaejoong said ‘ The bag is heavy enough, I don’t need you to add on the weight!’

‘Ani!’ Byul rejected ‘AND I’M NOT THAT HEAVY!’

The two childishly fought with each other for 10 straight minutes. Jaejoong who lost could only sigh in defeat while piggy backing Byul, who grinned in victory.

Max laughed beside me ‘ their so cute.’ He commented

I chuckled agreeing

‘So where exactly are we going?’ Jaejoong asked

‘To one of my old medium friends.’ I answered

‘Huh? You have someone else tell you your future?’ He questioned

‘You sound surprised…’ Max stated

‘Yeah, she could do it herself’ Jaejoong said before unsurely ‘can’t she?’

‘Divining your own fortune is one of the taboos of this business.’  I said

‘Selfishly doing it whenever you want is just one of them…prophecy and divination have so many taboos.’ Byul added

‘They’re different?’ Jaejoong said confused

‘In terms of precision, yes.’ I answered

‘You’ll understand once you meet her.’ Max said

-Destination-

-3rd Person Pov-

‘Is this the place?’ Jaejoong asked looking at the house in front of them

In front was a large story house, the appearance was same but the vibe was different.

‘She moved’ Byul commented

‘This isn’t it? But the sign said fortune teller’ he said glancing back at her, who was still on his back.

Jihyo remained quiet staring at the house with no emotion.

‘Should we head back then?’ Jaejoong questioned

Jaejoong wasn’t given any reply, Jihyo walked through the gate, max followed...

‘Aren’t you going to go Joongie?’ Byul asked seeing that Jaejoong wasn’t moving

Jaejoong let out a sigh and entered.

‘What are you doing?’ Jaejoong asked

‘I want to see something.’ Jihyo said ‘what kind of medium is working here in her place.’

Jihyo rang the doorbell and in no time, a maid welcomed them in and lead them to the living room. Sitting on the coach in front was a table…with pens and a form.

‘Eh? What’s this?’ Jaejoong asked looking at the form

‘A form for you to write when and where you were born. It’s just to gather all the information needed.’ Jihyo explained

Max smirked ‘not like it’s obvious enough.’ He teased Jaejoong for his lacking of brains.

Jaejoong shot him a glare before picking up a pen and filled in the form, while doing so a middle-aged lady came in to the room

‘Sorry, to keep you waiting.’ The lady apologized

Jaejoong stood up and bowed politely ‘thank you for having inviting us in.’ he said

The lady took a seat opposite to them with a smile ‘and you are?’ she asked

‘Just here to watch’ Jihyo answered with a smile.

Byul and Max nod stating the same as Jihyo. The lady picked up the form Jaejoong had filled and handed it to her maid.

‘Please, relax.’ The lady said

‘She seems so nice’ Jaejoong thought, before glancing at Byul and Jihyo at the corner of his eyes ‘Unlike them’

Byul who seated beside him jabbed her elbow into his rib ‘I heard that.’ She whispered

Jaejoong groaned, rubbing his rib ‘that hurt.’ He said

Byul smiled ‘it’s meant to.’ She said

‘Well now, shall we begin?’ the lady said, getting everyone’s attention.

‘Yes, madam’ Jaejoong said

‘you father…hasn’t died, has he?’ the lady asked

Jaejoong eyes widened surprised, on the other hand…Byul, Jihyo and Max didn’t look too impressed

‘Yes. He died when I was just a kid.’ Jaejoong answered still slightly surprised

‘And your mother?’ the lady questioned

‘She’s also dead’

‘Brothers and sisters?’

‘I don’t have any.’

‘You’ve had many hardships since childhood.’ The lady stated

‘You can tell?’ Jaejoong questioned impressed

Max could only mentally shake his head at Jaejoong’s native, Jihyo remained silent watching the fortune teller and Byul…she was staring bored else-where in the room, not paying much attention to the lady, but paid closely to Jaejoong’s answers.

‘Are you living alone?’ the lady continued to question Jaejoong

‘Yes…’ Jaejoong said

‘You’re very confident and independent.’ The lady commented ‘you face things head on without complaints. I sense you’re skilled at housekeeping as well.’

‘I don’t mind it.’ Jaejoong said

‘Of course, you Babo. It’s because you’ve been living alone all of your life.’ Byul thought

‘You aren’t shy around strangers…and sports?’ the lady asked

‘I quite like sports.’ Jaejoong answered

‘You live actively, and are intelligent.’ The lady sad

‘I,..umm’ Jaejoong said flattered

‘You have something bothering you about your personal relationships.’ The lady said

‘Yeah, I guess..’ Jaejoong responded

‘Don’t worry. You’re such a gentle caring person, if you maintain your sincerity, they will understand soon enough.’ The lady said ‘ Do you have any other distress?’

‘Umm I guess a few…’ Jaejoong said

Byul, Jihyo and Max glanced at Jaejoong from the corner of their eyes, understanding what Jaejoong was trying to say.

‘Is it hard to explain?’ the lady asked

‘I guess..’ Jaejoong said looking down, already he could feel and sense the spirits around him, closing in on him with hunger.

Taking action, Byul held Jaejoong’s hand as comfort, sensing Byul’s dangerous demonic vibe the spirits vanished leaving Jaejoong more at ease.

‘Don’t worry your world is a reflection of what’s in your heart ‘ the lady said  ‘if you always think negatively, the world around you will become unpleasant, correct?’

Not realizing it, Jaejoong held onto Byul’s hand slightly tighter for more comfort he felt and nod his head at the lady showing his was listening. Jihyo and Max mentally smiled seeing that the spirits around Jaejoong had vanished, knowing the reason for it.

‘ Maintain your resolve and face whatever problem you meet. I think you’ll see the world in a new light. No matter how troublesome it may seem, nothing can change unless you continue forth.’ The lady said ‘Face your fears with courage.’

Jaejoong nod again ‘Yes…thank ---‘ ‘What do you think about tonight’s weather?’ Jihyo asked out of no where.

‘The weather report was saying it might be clear.’ The lady answered

‘I see.’ Jihyo said not impressed with her answer

‘It’s time’ the maid said, meaning the time of the session was over.

‘Would you like more time?’ The lady asked

‘No, that is fine. That’s quite enough.’ Jihyo said

Byul was first to stood up, still in hand with Jaejoong, signaling him to leave. Jihyo and Max bid their fare well with the lady and paid.

-While Walking-

‘Wow, mediums are so amazing’ Jaejoong said wanting to break the silence

Since leaving the house, no one had said any thing, even Byul who was walking beside him still holding his hand didn’t even utter a word.

‘What do you think was amazing?’ Max questioned

Max caught Jaejoong off guard ‘But… wasn’t it?’ Jaejoong questioned ‘She didn’t even look at the paper, and asked ‘your father hasn’t died, has he?’’

‘That question can interpreted either way, can’t it?’ Jihyo stated

Jaejoong gave her a confused look

‘By leading the question the way she did, if your father had died, you’d respond ‘yes, he had. Or of your father hasn’t died, so ‘yes, he hasn’t’.’ Jihyo explained ‘ Whether he’s alive or dead, you interpreted it however you expect.’

‘She didn’t say that your father died. You did.’ Byul added

‘But…what about how she knew how tough my childhood was?’ Jaejoong asked

‘Losing your parents early in life would be a tough childhood, don’t you think.’ Max stated

Slowly it made sense to Jaejoong, but he still thought that the lady had done a good job.

‘As to confidence and independence, that also stereotypical of Aries.’ Jihyo said ‘You can get that from any horoscope book at any store.’

‘What about Housekeeping?’ Jaejoong continued to ask

‘tsk your really native.’ Max said shaking his head ‘you live alone, and yet look how neat your clothes are. Not to mention, Your parents passed away, if you don’t do the housework who does?’

‘But then…what about worrying about personal relationships?” Jaejoong said

‘These days, is there anyone who doesn’t worry even a little bit?’ Byul said

Jaejoong glanced down, having his doubts on the fortunetelling lady.

‘‘Be sincere and people will understand you.’ Is a standard advice you give anyone.’ Byul said ‘there’s nothing special about that.’

‘When she asked if you have other worries…’

‘You were thinking about how you see spirits wherever you go, right?’ Byul questioned

‘Yes.’ Jaejoong said

‘Do you remember her advice?’ Jihyo asked

‘My world is a reflection of my heart’ Jaejoong said repeating what the Lady had told him

‘You’ve honestly wanted them gone for so long, so why are they still here?’ Byul stated ‘She didn’t foresee a situation like that. Trouble with school or with love…she figured it was one of those, and went for it hoping it sounded appropriate.’

‘So you mean that the fortune teller is…’ Jaejoong trailed not sure of what to say

‘There are mediums who study fortunetelling in school just to make business of it.’ Jihyo said ‘Not that there’s anything wrong with that…’

‘so...divination depends on the medium more than…’ Jaejoong said trailing still not understanding completely

Byul smiled ‘You’ll meet Halmoni’ she said ‘She’s truly amaze you and make you understand.’

Jaejoong looked confused at Byul ‘wait…so you mean you already know where that person who you were trying to find is?’ he asked

‘Well it did took a while…but Byul had manage to sense her.’ Jihyo said smiling ‘so we’re on our way to her now.’

-Fortune Teller House-

They stood in front of a normal traditional Korean house.

‘We’re here’ Byul said smiling

Jaejoong looked at the house ‘but there’s no sign. It looks like a normal.’ He said

The wooden gate slide open, as an elderly woman greeted them ‘glad to see you made it, Jihyo.’ She said smiling ‘and it’s wonderful to see you again Byul, Max.’

Byul grinned widely. Letting go of Jaejoong’s hand and went to give the Elderly a hug. ‘It’s been a while Halmoni’ she said

‘Your adorable as ever Byul, Max you also have grown, and you look as pretty as ever Jihyo’ the elder said as she also received a hug from Jihyo and Max.

The elderly then looked at Jaejoong and smiled warmly ‘ it must have been hard for you losing your parents so long ago.’ She said

Jaejoong eyes widened, surprised ‘But…How?’ he questioned

The elderly turned, heading towards the house ‘We can’t stand around here chattering all day. Please, come in.’ she said entering

Jihyo, Max, Byul and Jaejoong followed her in.

‘Did you tell her anything about me?’ Jaejoong asked looking at Jihyo and Byul

‘We didn’t have time.’ Jihyo said

‘that’s true.’ Jaejoong said

‘Jaejoong, your about to see a genuine medium. Now you’ll know what’s it’s really about.’ Max said

They continued walking through the house, till they were in the living room, where the elderly had set tea on the table, everyone seated themselves around the table comfortably.

‘Could you share your name with me?’ The elderly asked

‘Kim Jaejoong.’ Jaejoong answered as he got excited and impressed ‘umm you want to know my name so you can gather what information you need to tell my fortune, right?’

‘Well no, I just wanted to know what to call you.’ The elderly said

Byul and Max burst out laughing ‘Phahahaha Babo.’ They laughed earning a glare from the embarrassed Jaejoong.

‘Such a lovely name your mother picked for you.’ The elderly said earning Jaejoong’s surprised attention.

‘Halmoni, I’ll set up the sand for you.’ Byul offered

The elderly nod thanking her. Set on the table, it was strange device to Jaejoong. It was a small circle sand box on the bottom, filled of sand. On the side of both end of the box had two wooden pole holding up a long horizontal stick like a scale and on the center of the horizontal stick was a tied string, on the end of the string was a crystal, hanging there on top of the sand.

‘Please place your hand here.’ The elderly instructed placing Jaejoong’s hand on the his end of the horizontal stick, as she then went back to her seat opposite to him and placed her hand on the other end.

No one spoke in the room, the elderly had her eyes closed focusing, whilst Jihyo, Max and Byul quietly watched.

‘um…aren’t you going to ask me about any questions or fortunes I want to know?’ Jaejoong asked breaking the silence.

The elderly didn’t respond

‘She doesn’t need to.’ Jihyo said ‘since you’re here you already know what you want to see.’

Slowly the crystal moved along the sand.

‘this process finds out precisely what you want to know.’ Jihyo explained ‘and divines only those answers.’

‘Nothing more and nothing less. It only uses what it needs o divine the correct fortune.’ Byul added ‘as simple as it sounds, it’s quite difficult.’

‘it’s just like how the wishing shop works.’ Jaejoong thought

The elderly open her eyes ‘relax…your parents are both resting in pace.’ She said ‘Having lost them to a horrible accident like that…in order to protect you, Jaejoong’

Jaejoong was speechless by the elderly but listened and relaxed

‘You don’t have to worry about them. They are comfortable.’ The elderly continued ‘ their so glad that you grew up to be such a wonderful young man.’

‘is that so…’ Jaejoong said as a smile came on to his face ‘thank god.’

‘ But…this abundance of mysterious darkness surrounding you is so worrisome.’ The elderly spoke ‘and from that you met strangers.’

The crystal on the sand stopped moving. The elderly looked down at the sand and smiled as she saw a drawn butterfly.

‘for this to appear for you as well…’ the elderly said looking at the sand ;the butterfly is a symbol of departure and metamorphosis… changes are overdue, aren’t they?’

‘Your time to change…already begun.’

‘And I also see a young lady you’re fond of. There’s much more to that, but you don’t want me to say it…’

Jaejoong gasped surprised that the elderly knew, Byul on the other hand pouted in jealousy.

‘there’s also a companion you’re always bickering with. I see a long lasting friendship with this young man is already forming.’

Jaejoong mouth dropped not believing what he is hearing, knowing very well that the person the elderly speck off was none other then his enemy, Jung Yunho.

‘Ah… I also see a special connection and bond you have with someone you are in need dearly.’ The elder said smiling

Jaejoong looked at her curiously wondering who could it be, though the person came in mind was Dambi…which couldn’t make him more then happier.

The elder removed her hand from the stick ’I believe that answers all of your questions.’ She said

Jaejoong bowed respectively ‘Thank you so much ma’am. How much do I owe you?’ he asked

‘Jaejoong, since your such a good cook, something with sake would do just nicely.’  The elder answered

From the bag that Jaejoong had been carrying, Max had pulled out a bottle of soju, which Jihyo was grinning very pleased about.

‘Is it alright? It’s not very valuable.’ Jaejoong said

‘How could a home-cooked meal made with love be not valuable? Your father surely taught you this about his cooking, didn’t he?’ The elder said

A warm smile came on to his face ‘Neh.’ Jaejoong said and stood up ‘I’ll start cooking then.’

‘I’ll come help out’ Max said leaving the room with Jaejoong and showing him the way to the kitchen.

‘A butterfly…that’s because of you two… Jihyo and spectrally you Byul.’ the elder said smiling ‘Jihyo, you enjoy watching him to see what he becomes and Byul you were the beginning of his changes’

Byul smiled glad and proud of what he had heard.

‘However…Byul…’ the elder spoke, her voice sounding worry and sympathy. ‘ Don’t let your nature get a hold of you, it may bring you to your worst of moments.’

Byul listened attentively, her hands that are on her lap gripped each other tightly. ‘Neh. I understand’ she said nodding

Deep down, Jihyo was already feeling worried for Byul.

-That Night-

-Walking Home-

‘I wanted to hear more from her…especially about Dambi.’ Jaejoong said grinning

‘Absolutely not!’ Byul stated and jumped on his back

‘Hey! Why do you always make me piggy back you?!’ Jaejoong said irritated

‘Because that’s your punishment for being happy about another girl!’ Byul said pouting

Max laughed ‘I’ll never get bored of watching the jealous demon and the bi-polar idiot’ he teased

‘In divination, there a difference between what is divined and what you cause to be divined, there’s a give and take.’ Jihyo said ‘What makes real mediums real is…they put their own destiny into their divinations.’

Jaejoong listened to Jihyo’s explanation and smiled ‘They’re really great.’ He said

'Joongie go faster!' Byul beamed

'YAH! I AM NOT YOUR SLAVE OR HORSE!' Jaejoong shouted angrily
