-Jihyo Pov-

The next morning, after Byul and Jaejoong had a talk last night…the atmosphere in the shop was awkward and tense. Jaejoong who woke up early to make breakfast was silent only short greeting everyone, Byul who came out of her room looked down and upset but hid it well…but the only one who couldn’t see it would be Jaejoong.

Or was he just pretending he didn’t notice, either way He didn’t spare a glance at Byul, when she came out which I could see upset her more

‘Byul, come here.’ I said gently

I was outside on the veranda; Byul silently went to me and laid down, her head on my lap.

‘The talk didn’t go well.’ I stated her hair

‘No.’ she whispered

I knew from the look of her eyes she had cried last night, how it was slightly pink and puffy.

‘Breakfast is ready’ Jaejoong announced

Everyone silently went into the Dinning room, how Jaejoong didn’t join instead he looked like he was leaving.

‘Joongie where are you going?’ Byul asked

Jaejoong didn’t look at her only walking towards the gate ‘home. I have things to do.’ He stated ‘I’ll be back to make dinner.’

Watching him leave, Max let out a sigh ‘how are you feeling Byul?’ he asked

‘Not good.’ Byul mumbled sadly

Micky and Junsu side hugged her ‘Don’t be sad Byul’ they both comforted

Byul looked down at her lap ‘He wished to forget me…’ she whispered

I was caught by surprised, I knew Max, Junsu and Micky were also shocked

‘He meant it.’ Byul continued

‘That idiot’ Max hissed angrily ‘His such a fool for not understanding anything.’

‘What will you do Byul?’ Micky asked

Byul stared blankly down at her lap ‘I promised to grant his every wishes.’ She answered softly and weakly ‘whatever it is. I will grant it.’

We couldn’t say anything more only staring at her feeling the sadness and pain of seeing our loved one heart broken. And it only hurt more seeing Byul forcing a smile at us, telling us she’d be back to the way she use to be soon.

‘Don’t force it, Idiot. Your with us. You can cry. You can be angry.’ Max stated ‘You can be how you feel like. Because we’re your family.’

Hearing Max statement Byul tears came freely, she cried silently in Junsu and Micky arms.

Fate that is installed for them weren’t bright.

What Destiny had prepared for them wasn’t happy ending.

-Jaejoong Pov-

I couldn’t stand it…I couldn’t stand seeing her face or be in the same place as her anymore.

It’s suffocating me.

Because I was disappointed, upset, agitated, frustrated with…and at her.

But at the same time…I couldn’t help but to feel guilty to have been harsh on her.

‘This girl is seriously making me going insane.’ I thought frustrated

But my thoughts were cut off when my phone rang, without looking at who had called I answered it ‘Hello?’ I answered

Oppa! - ???

A very happy voice responded on the other end

‘Gain?’ I questioned

Neh it’s me! – Gain

A small smile came on my lips

Oppa I was wondering if you can hang with me today. – Gain

My gut told me to reject her, because Byul had told me yesterday not to be involved with Gain…

But I was mad at her, she was one at fault. So why do I have to listen to her?

‘Sure, I have nothing to do anyways. Where should I meet you?’ I asked

Let’s meet at the park we were at yesterday –Gain

‘Okay’ I said

Great! See you soon. – Gain

Gain hang up. I changed my direction walking towards the park…Which then it hit me…what could Byul and Gain said to each other when I was gone? I had forgotten to ask her yesterday…when we were arguing.

‘I could always ask Gain’ I thought to myself.

-Park-

Reaching the park I walked around to try and find Gain, luckily it didn’t take long, she waited at the playground area.

‘Hi oppa!’ She beamed

I smiled and greeted her back. ‘What are we going to do today?’ I asked

Gain smiled widely at me ‘I want to show Oppa a special place to me.’ She said

I nod and let her lead the way.

-While Walking-

-3^rd Person Pov-

‘Gain…I’m sorry about yesterday…’ Jaejoong started a conversation ‘they just came and dragged me away..’

Gain chuckled ‘Its fine, your friends must of needed you for something important.’ She said

‘Gain…Did Byul say anything to you yesterday?’ Jaejoong asked what he had been curious about

‘Your friend seems to like you a lot. I’m guessing she’s Byul right?’ Gain questioned, Jaejoong nod ‘She must really like you, to have told me to stay away from you.’

Jaejoong looked at Gain startled at what she had told him…

 ‘S-She did?’ He uttered

Gain nod smiling ‘yeah saying you’re her boyfriend and she didn’t like me being around you.’ She continued

Jaejoong couldn’t help but to feel somewhat happy inside Byul had called him her boyfriend, being jealous and it was all for him.

‘But I told her that we’re just friends’ Gain added ‘though it doesn’t seem like she’s happy about it…so I guess today will be our last day hanging.’

Jaejoong felt guilt seeing Gain looking down and sad ‘I’ll talk to her.’ He said without much thought ‘ I like having you as a friend and hanging out with you, She’ll understand.’

Gain smile happily at him, unknown to Jaejoong behind that smile was a smirk.

-Wish Shop-

Byul was laying on the veranda still feeling upset and unsociable, in the living room was where everyone sat and kept their eyes on Byul, feeling sympathy for her

‘Should we call Yunho? Maybe he can cheer her up a little.’ Micky suggested

‘it’s best to give her some time for herself’ Max stated ‘we can call Yunho when she’s willing to talk to someone.’

However for Jihyo she felt unease something told her today won’t be good. Her unease feeling heightened when she notice something unusual…

At the corner of the veranda there was something moving yet stopping often to not be noticed

‘What’s that thing moving…’ Junsu spoke also seeing what Jihyo had saw

Max looked hard at the veranda trying to find whatever it was that Junsu had saw, his eyes narrowed staring that the creature to try and make out what it was.

‘That is…a Brazilian spider…’ Max spoke slowly surprised

The spider sensed that it had been noticed, making quick dash to it’s target…Byul

SMACK!

Byul sat up startled by the sudden loud sound, just beside her both Micky and Junsu were couching, Micky had a brick in hand and Junsu had a gardening shovel…

‘What’s…going on…’ Byul uttered

Junsu and Micky moved away showing the disgustingly crushed spider.

‘That’s nasty.’ Max said in disgust ‘but why is there a Brazilian spider here?’

‘ A Messenger ‘ Jihyo spoke sternly ‘A death message’

Byul gritted her teeth ‘That B****’ she hissed in rage

Byul stood up her wings unfold

‘Byul we need a plan first!’ Max exclaimed ‘you cant just get irrationally’

‘It’s too late for that!’ Byul hissed not hiding her anger and took off

Max messed up his hair in frustration ‘ AISHI! PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEMS!’ he groaned

‘Max go find Yunho’ Jihyo ordered ‘his the only one that can help’

Max nodded and left quickly doing as told

‘Micky Junsu prepare Byul’s room’ Jihyo stated ‘we need everything ready…When they bring her back’

-Jaejoong-

It was still unknown to him where Gain was taking him, all he knew was that It had been quite a long walk…they were now almost out of the town.

‘Where are we going? Are we almost there?’ Jaejoong asked

‘Just a little more’ Gain said with a fake smile

- 10 minutes Later-

‘ah we’re here.’ Gain stated with a big smile

Jaejoong stared at the building in front of him in awe…it was a mansion to be exact, a huge one that looked absolutely like from those Hollywood Movies.

‘I-is this your house?’ Jaejoong uttered surprised

‘Something like that’ Gain said and took his hand ‘c’mon let’s go in.’

‘I-is that alright?’ Jaejoong asked unsurely still staring at the mansion in awe

Gain chuckled ‘your so silly of course!’ she beamed and lead him in

Walking in front a hidden smirk was placed on her face, whilst behind her followed her prey that was clueless and in awe with his surroundings

‘Oppa did Byul say anything to you about me?’ Gain suddenly asked

Jaejoong thought deeply unsure if whether he should or shouldn’t tell her honestly of what Byul had told him.

Gain could sense the hesitation of Jaejoong’s ‘Oppa be honest it’s alright.’ She encouraged

‘w-well…please don’t get mad or feel upset…’ Jaejoong said uneasily

Gain nod ‘I won’t’ she assured

‘ She told…I should stop being around you.’ Jaejoong said uneasy ‘ that your dangerous…’

‘Still not getting straight to the point as always’ Gain thought thinking of Byul

‘Your not who you seem to be…’ Jaejoong continued ‘ that…’

Gain smirked wider but it was unseen by Jaejoong

‘That you’re a demon.’

Gain and Jaejoong stopped in front of the front door

 ‘That your deceiving’

Gain turned around looking at Jaejoong, who avoided her glaze feeling that she might have been sadden by what he had told her.

‘is that so?’ Gain questioned unfazed by what she had heard

Jaejoong looked at her a little surprised that she wasn’t sad or angry…

‘y-yeah..’ he nodded ‘ Gain…is Byul right?’

Gain tilt her head to the side forging innocence ‘of what?’ she asked

Jaejoong swallowed hard ‘a-are…You..a-a Demon?’ he asked

Gain turned opening the front door, Jaejoong kept his eyes focused on her waiting for her answer.

Gain turned around with a sinister smirk ‘You should of listened to her.’ She said darkly ‘Fool.’

Grabbing his arm tightly she pushed Jaejoong through the door.

Jaejoong was speechless, shocked and looked at Gain in disbelief, not noticing his eerie and dark surroundings. The outside seems liked a grand mansion, but inside it was empty, abandoned and near ruins. It was dark, the only light source was from the light through the ripped and ragged curtains, every corner above and below were decorated with webs.

Gain shut the door behind her, smirking at her shocked prey ‘ What? Didn’t see it coming?’ she mocked ‘ didn’t your friend also had suspicions?’

Don’t see her.

There’s something not right about her.

She’s eerie.

Jaejoong remembered Yunho told him

A cruel laugh snapped Jaejoong out of his thoughts ‘Too late for regrets. Too late to turn back’ Gain laughed,

Advancing towards Jaejoong, Gain trapped him in the corner with a smirk and her lips. Jaejoong trembled feeling scared and in panic, he tried to see an opening to escape but all hope was lost when he found himself struggling to move…something had tied him in place

Gain let out a laugh ‘Foolish human, once the prey is caught in the webs…’ she said smirking, tracing Jaejoong’s jaw line with her finger ‘you’ll never escape’

Jaejoong eyes widened looking down at his body to find thick white webs around his waist and legs…he was already caught without knowing it. Jaejoong kept his eyes on Gain, watching her every move feeling on edge that she could easily kill him at any time she pleases

Gain chuckled  ‘now now don’t glare at me like that.’ She mocked ‘keep your face pretty for when that low class demon comes’

Hearing the word low class Jaejoong was confused, however a confident smirk came on his face

‘Byul is stronger than you.’ Jaejoong stated with confidence

But the challenging smirk that was on Gain’s face made Jaejoong felt uneasy

‘We’ll see’ she said and eyed the window ‘She’s here.’

As said, loud crashing sound of glass was heard, the dust and dirt blinded Jaejoong’s vision of the invader, but Jaejoong could easily make out the figure…And instantly the worry and fear he felt was replaced with security and comfort.

‘You’re finally here’ Gain voice taunted

Jaejoong coughed from the flying dust and dirt that was still in the air, but tried to focus his eyes to see what was happening in front of him

However the sight in front of him was not one he expected

In front of him, standing guarding him was Byul…but…Jaejoong’s blood ran cold seeing Byul’s wings that hung on her back, her right wing was beautiful as how he had first saw it but her left…her left was nothing but a bone structure of a wing with merely 10 features on it’s frame

Jaejoong eyes were widen in shock ‘W-What…H-H-Happened…’ He questioned in his mind shock ‘to her….’

-Max & Yunho-

Yunho frowned after listening to Max explanation of what was happening.

‘That idiot.’ Yunho grunted angrily

‘Yeah I feel the same way too, but we can’t waste any time right now.’ Max stated ‘This will help’

Max handed Yunho a talisman that Jihyo had given him

 ‘You only have one shot at this.’ Max explain sternly ‘I’ll hold onto her the best I can and the rest is up to you’

Yunho nod taking the talisman and his bow and arrow

‘This is completely different from shooting a spirit. You have to shoot the talisman right in her head.’ ‘ Max explained pointing to his head ‘that’s the only way the spell in the talisman can be activated’

Yunho nod again understanding everything he has to do

‘When the spell is activated that B**** will burn to ashes and…’ Max affirmed, he placed an encouraging hand on Yunho’s shoulder ‘Yunho don’t hesitate.’

‘Neh’ Yunho answered with determination

-Jaejoong Pov-

 I couldn’t take my eyes away from Byul, from her wings.

I was speechless, horrified…there was this feeling of a tight and hard knot in my chest…

‘Her wings…what happened to them?’ I thought

Gain laughter snap Jaejoong out of his thoughts ‘Judging by his face, you’ve hidden him in the dark ‘ she said smirking ‘haven’t you Byul’

I couldn’t see Byul’s expression but I knew she must be glaring at Gain, but my mind was more focused on the fact that Gain seems to know what Byul is hiding from me

‘Are you curious?’ Gain questioned at me, smirking widely

I tried to ignore her and glared at her, but I knew my eyes gave it away because I really did want to know what Byul was hiding from me

‘Shut it’ Byul hissed at Gain ‘he has nothing to do with this, Release him’

Gain let out a mocking laugh ‘what place are you in to order me? You are below me.’’ she taunted ‘ but tell you what.  I’ll release him, if you take his place.’

Gain stood in front of Byul, smirking at her

‘After I’m done with you, he’ll be released.’ Gain continued smirking widely ‘this is a promise.’

‘Byul…No’ I said shaking my head ‘she’s lying’

‘Once a demon promise they are bond to that vow, if not they will be degraded’ Gain spoke and looked at Byul ‘isn’t that right, Byul?’

Byul nodded ‘I’ll take his place. No harm will be done to him.’ Byul stated firmly

Gain was pleased with Byul agreement ‘let the fun begin then’ Gain said in delight

Thick webs were woven around Byul’s waist, her legs, her arms and her wings. Byul was trapped beside me.

‘WAIT! Byul! On hold!’ I exclaimed, the feeling of anxiety and fear eating my inside

‘Now now just you sit back, relax and watch the show’ Gain taunted at me before turning and looking at Byul with a wide smirk ‘Now let the fun begin.’

With that said, Gain opened , showing her teeth sharpen like fangs and bite Byul between her shoulder and neck

My eyes widen “BYUL!’ I shouted in worry

Byul gritted her teeth holding in the pain

Gain retrieved with a satisfied smirk on her face ‘your paralyzed by my poison,  so don’t even think of backing out. Your body is on shut down’ She laughed ‘your truly a pathetic demon, having a weakness that is a human.’

 ‘ Going as far as losing your feathers and power for something that worthless’

I looked confused and questioningly at Byul

‘Oh that’s right. He doesn’t know.’ Gain stated mockingly and looked at me ‘curious? Why don’t I tell you’

Byul glared hard at Gain ‘there’s no reason to’ she said firmly

Gain smiled evilly ‘the feeling I love most…is guilt. Sadness can fade and pain can be cured…but guilt will always continue to fed on one’s soul.’ She stated and looked at me ‘because of you. For you, she sacrificed her wing for your selfish wish.’

Wish?

Byul scarified her wing for my wish?

‘what was that wish again?’ Gain fake a thinking matter ‘ah that’s right, to rid bad luck from that filth’

I frowned not understanding what Gain has said, but realization hit me and I was speechless

To cure her nature of bringing bad luck, the price is too large. That would require her to give up her happiness in life

My eyes widen, for Dambi…

I wish for her to be happy, for her to truly smile and laugh. Even if it’s the tiniest. I wish for her to be happy.

I made a careless wish…

I had forgotten….

Byul had lost her feathers…for me.

The reason why she had been so busy…

Was to earn those feathers back.

Slowly in my chest…I felt my heart dropped

The guilt and regret was swallowing up my heart

‘Jaejoong don’t let it get to you’ Byul uttered

How could I not?

‘Not only that, you’ve done greatly, leading her into my trap.’ Gain smirked

Gain stood in front of Byul, closely smirking at her helplessness. Gain’s expression flipped to a sudden 180, her smirk fell, a serious frown was on her features

‘Now I’ll break you.’ Gain stated, her hand shot out quickly grabbing on Byul’s right wing ‘you won’t be needing this….’

My eyes widened hearing a small crack

‘I’ll take what’s important from you’

Crack

‘STOP!’ I shouted desperately and struggling hard to be freed

Byul gritted her teeth holding back the pain I knew she must be feeling, but she was paralyzed she couldn’t move or defend herself. I couldn’t breath from how anxious and terrifyingly worried I felt for Byul, how so many emotions were pounding in my chest and head.

‘Ordinarily my plan was to get rid of what’s most precious to you…but then you won’t be seeing what’s precious to you anymore anyway’ Gain stated glancing at me than back at Byul and smirked widely ‘you promised didn’t you?’

With No Hesitation

No Remorse

Byul’s wing was ripped clean off her back

My heart stopped.

I couldn’t respond or tear my eyes from the horrifying sight

The only sound that I could only hear, the sound I knew that will haunt me…

Was Byul’s painful screaming.

My sight was filled of redness that spattered everywhere

My blood ran cold, feeling the warm blood on my face dripping down soaking into my clothes

I felt my body dropped, being released. Not wasting any second I ran to Byul, holding her tightly in my arms

‘B-Byul!’ I manage to utter, my body was shaking and hands were trembling

I was scared. Scared of losing her.

Byul couldn’t keep her eyes open, she was losing conscious. I didn’t know it but  tears already came out of my eyes uncontrollable

‘J-jae…d-ont cr-y…’ She said uttered barely hearable

How could I not?

Cruel laugher echo throughout the whole building ‘Suffer. Suffer like I had.’ Gain laughed

‘BYUL! JAEJOONG!’ I heard our names called loudly from the outside, the large door was slammed down forcefully

-3^rd Person Pov-

Knocking down the door easily, Max and Yunho body froze to the scene before them…their heart stopped at how much blood there was everywhere…but their blood ran cold seeing a large detached wing being held in Gain’s hand. Fear race around in their vein, hesitating to look at Byul’s form that was in Jaejoong’s arms.

‘TAKE HER TO JIHYO NOW!’ Max shouted in rage and fear

Hugging Byul’s body close to himself, Jaejoong dash out of the door with no words and not looking back. His priority is Byul. Nothing else.

‘You’ve came too late this time you abomination’ Gain mocked at Max and turn smirking at Yunho ‘what’s this? You even brought a human along…’

‘Perfect. I was feeling hungry.’

‘I’ll kill you’ Max spat murderously and charged at Gain at an unimaginable speed

Gain let out a taunting laugh, preparing herself to fend off Max’s attack

-Jihyo-

It would be a lie to say that Jihyo and the twins was clam at home, no. They were on edge, feeling their chest clutched painfully in anxiousness and worry.

Junsu and Micky were both pacing around, Jihyo standing leaning on wall, three of them had their eyes fixed on the entrance door that they had left open…waiting…waiting for them to return.

‘JIHYO!!!’ The three jumped a little startled from the sudden sound of Jaejoong’s cried voice

The twins rushed to the entrance where they froze seeing Byul in Jaejoong’s arms both were soaking in red blood

‘Quick Take her inside’ Jihyo ordered

Jaejoong carried Byul in with the twins following behind him

- Yunho & Max -

Yunho hid behind pillars that held up the ceiling, watching Max and Gain who had been bawling each other for the last hour, he stayed calm and patient waiting for the right moment to make his aim.

Gain didn’t pay any mind or attention towards Yunho, she knew he was hiding somewhere but couldn’t care any less…after all he was just a mere human. The bigger concern was Max, he wasn’t a spirit or a demon…he was created by Jihyo, his abilities, capabilities were still unknown to her…that irked her.

 ‘we have to end this now’ Max thought determinedly, eying Yunho from the corner of his eyes who got his message

Both were starting to get exhausted, they knew by how slow they had gotten, how their attacks were missing it’s aims and they were losing their breaths.

But Max was determined, charging at Gain once again, she did the same with her sharp nails that were like knifes wanting to cut Max to shreds. Gain was prepared to attack Max, but when his sudden disappearance right before her eyes caught her off guard.

‘He vanished?’ She thought alarmingly

Gain then felt her airway being restricted, the back of her head was against a chest with an arm was around her neck chocking her, she tried to swing around to swipe at Max, but couldn’t get out from his killing grip. Taking the advantage Max held both of her hand with his spare hand behind her back immobilizing her

‘YUNHO!‘ Max shouted

Rising his Bow, Yunho stood out from his hiding place and aimed the arrow with the talisman stuck on the tip

‘SHOOT!’ Max shouted

Yunho released it, hitting Gain accurately in the head.

Max quickly let go before the arrow could parched though him, watching Gain screeching and screaming from the flames that came from the talisman, burning her.

‘Burn and stay in Hell. B****’ Max stated coldly and turned away

Yunho watched Gain’s body burned turning black like coal before it dropped dead on the ground breaking down into a pile of ashes.

‘Let’s go’ Max said already leaving
