BaekChen: Santa Clause is Coming to Town/Silent Night

Jongdae is exceptional at singing. Everyone thinks that. Jongdae thinks otherwise; he thinks Baekhyun is better than him. Baekhyun really wants to prove to Jongdae that he’s more talented than Baekhyun is. And since it’s nearing Christmas, Baekhyun knows exactly what he wants to do.

“Jongdae-ah, we should sing some Christmas songs!” Baekhyun says. “And maybe we can be allowed to sing them for our SMTOWN Week.”

“Sure.” Jongdae replies. “Sounds fun.”

Baekhyun grins. “Great. Which song should we sing?”

“Mm…” Jongdae thinks for a while. “I always liked Silent Night. Or…Santa Clause is coming to Town.”

“I think Silent Night would sound nice with your voice.” Baekhyun decides. “But we could sing Santa Clause is coming to Town together. Sing a line of Silent Night to me.”

“Any line?” Jongdae questions. Baekhyun nods. “I’ll just sing the beginning then.”

Silent night; holy night

All is calm, all is bright

Holy infant so tender and mild

Sleep in heavenly peace;

Jongdae takes a breath. Baekhyun claps, along with a few of the other members that gathered in the room. Jongdae blushes slightly as Baekhyun smiles and pats his back. He receives high five’s from some of the other members, and a hug from Zitao.

“You did really well, Jongdae-ah!” Baekhyun exclaims once everyone filed back out. “Your voice, as always, sounds amazing.”

“I’m sure you’d sound better if you sang it…” Jongdae says. “You try it.”

“No, no.” Baekhyun responds. “There’s no need since you already sound amazing enough. Shall I ask Tao or someone else for proof?”

Jongdae rolls his eyes. “Whatever. Sing Santa Clause is coming to Town. I’ll follow in when I feel it’s right.”

Baekhyun sighs. “Fine.”

You better watch out,

You better not cry

Better not pout, I’m tellin’ you why.

Santa Clause is coming to town.

Jongdae joins in and Baekhyun quiets his voice slightly so Jongdae’s overpowered his own. Jongdae doesn’t notice thankfully. He just continues to sing merrily.

He’s makin’ a list.

Any checkin’ it twice

Gonna find out who’s naughty or nice

Santa Clause is coming to town

“Hmm…” Baekhyun says after they stop singing. “I think you should just sing both alone. It would sound better. My voice is just drowning yours out, and we don’t want that.”

Jongdae sighs. “But…I thought you wanted to do a duet.”

“I want you to think you sing better than me more, though.” Baekhyun responds. “Because you need to believe in yourself more.”

Jongdae stares at Baekhyun with a confused expression. Baekhyun smiles and plants a light kiss on Jongdae’s nose. Jongdae flinches in surprise.

“If you’d just trust me when I tell you you’re better than me at singing, you’d be much happier right now.” Baekhyun says simply. “If you didn’t have a better voice than me, I wouldn’t love you as much as I do.”

He walks away. Jongdae stares after him. He isn’t sure whether to feel insulted that Baekhyun wouldn’t love him if he wasn’t good at singing (it could have been a joke for all Jongdae knows) or surprised that Baekhyun actually loves him. He ends up feeling both subconsciously.

A/N: I really had no inspiration for this one. Which is why it's so crappy. I just knew I wanted it to do with singing as Baekhyun and Chen are pretty much the vocal line minus Luhan and D.O. Sorry...;-;

I kinda want Chen to sing Silent Night now...Just because it would sound SOO sweet. 

I'm still so lazy. But anyway, I need to get off the computer. I hope you enjoy this~
