Kim Hyoyeon’s POV

‘’You?’’

“You?”

Both of us said in unison with a shocking face.

“We bumped each other at the restaurant on that day, right?”, she said to me.

“D-dae”, I replied while staring at her without blinking. I just stood still.

“Seonsaengnim, are you okay?”, she asked while looking at me curiously. Her hand was on my shoulder. I gasped.

“Y-yeah, I’m okay. Just go and take your place over there”, I quickly said while pointing at the empty space next to other students.

“Okay!”, she replied while immediately taking her place. She then tried to copy the dance movement from the student next to her. I just giggled silently, looking on how cute of her attempt. I walked towards her, and stood beside her.

“Seonsaengnim, is this correct?”, she asked while looking at me with her eyes full of hope. Hoping that her dance movement was correct. I just smiled while holding her hand, and correcting her posture.

“There, like this”, I said as I released her hand. She smiled sheepishly.

“Gomawo, seonsaengnim!”, she thanked me.

“Cheonmaneyo”, I replied, and then immediately leaving her to check on other students. After satisfied with their performances, I moved to the next dance movements until it’s about the time for me to stop the training.

“Alright, class!”, I clapped my hands, signaling them to stop and to divert their attention. “As I said earlier, you guys need to practice the basic movements a lot in other to make your body comfortable while dancing. And, don’t forget to do your stretching first before you start to practice, arasso?”, I said to the students.

“Dae!”, they replied in unison.

“Okay, is class dismissed. I’ll see you guys on next week. Kamsahamnida!”, I said as I bowed.

“Dae! Kamsahamnida seonsaengnim!”, they thanked and bowed to me before leaving the dance studio. I walked to the desk to clear up and pack my things before I could go home. I was about to walk to the door when suddenly I heard someone’s calling me.

“Seonsaengnim! Wait!”, the voice said. I stopped walking, and immediately turned my head to look at the person. It’s the girl who I bumped with, and the same girl who came late to my class.

“Oh! It’s you again. Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to ask your name just now”, I said. That girl walked closer and stood in front of me.

“I’m so sorry for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Seo Joohyun. You can call me Seohyun. It’s nice to meet you, seonsaengnim”, she replied as she bowed to me.

“Ah.. Seohyun ssi. Nice to meet you too”, I said. “So, do you have a class after this?”, I asked, trying not to feel awkward in our conversation.

“Dae. I have one more class to attend in one hour time. Ermm.. seonsaengnim, can I steal your time a bit? I want to ask about the theory lesson. They said your first topic is the theory lesson before you continued with the basic dance training”, she said while looking at me with the same look she gave me when she asked about her dance movement earlier. I found it cute.

“Yah! What’s wrong with you, Kim Hyoyeon. Snapped out of it!”, I thought. I then glanced at my wristwatch. Well, since I have got nothing to do after this, I just agreed on her request.

“Yeah, sure”, I said as I walked back to my desk. I was about to put my bag when she suddenly speak.

“Ermm.. seonsaengnim. Can we go to other place? To the cafe? I’m hungry because I still not taking my lunch yet”, she said.

“Why are you still not taking your lunch? Did you skipped it?”, I asked while looking at her, furrowing my brows.

“I was actually rushing to attend the Students Council meeting after the class this afternoon. So, I didn’t notice that your class started at 2:00, so, I didn’t get a chance to grab my lunch. I just straightly went to your class after the meeting”, she explained.

“Ah, I see”, I replied as I nodded. “Alright, let’s go to the cafe”, I said.

“Kamsahamnida, seonsaengnim!”, she said cheerfully. I just smiled at her. I took my bag from the desk, and both of us walked towards the door, leaving the dance studio to head to the cafe.

“Seonsaengnim, what do you want to eat? I will buy it for you”, Seohyun asked soon after we arrived at the cafe, and took our seat at the vacant table.

“It’s okay. You just go and buy for yourself. I had already took my lunch”, I said with a smile. She then pouted. I giggled silently, looking on how cute face expression was.

“At least, let me buy you a drink, pleaseee...?”, she said with an aegyo.

“Oh God! This girl is really something!”, I thought. Somehow I started to feel nervous.

“Arasso. Just buy me a coffee, okay?”, I replied as I didn’t want to disappoint her. Besides, I didn’t want her to use her aegyo again. I might couldn’t stand with it. LOL!

“Okay!”, she happily said, and immediately got up from her seat, heading to the ordering counter. While I was waiting for Seohyun, suddenly my phone’s beeping.

“BEEP! BEEP!”

From: Min

Hyorangie! Just want to inform you that I’m not going home for today. Fei asked me to accompany her tonight. So, I guess I’ll see ya on tomorrow. Take care, buddy!

“Tch! This kid”, I said as my fingers immediately pressing the keypads to reply the text message.

From: Hyoyeon

Ara! Tch.. so much Fei asked you to accompany her. It’s you who want to have a sleepover there, right? :P

“BEEP! BEEP!”

“Wahh.. that’s fast!”, I said as while looking at the phone screen. I quickly tapped on the incoming text icon.

From Min:

Yah! I’m telling you the truth! Prfttt.. :P

I laughed while reading her text reply until I didn’t realize that Seohyun was walking towards our table.

“What’s so funny, seonsaengnim?”, she asked while placing the tray that contained a plate of salad and tuna sandwich, with a glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee. I gasped.

“Oh! I just read a text message from my friend”, I said as I put the phone on the table.

“Ahh.. I thought it’s from your boyfriend or girlfriend”, she said innocently while sitting on her chair.

“Huh?”, I immediately looked at her as I was surprised by her words just now. “Now, what makes her think like that, huh?”, I thought. I just ignored on her words earlier as I smiled.

“Here’s your coffee, seonsaengnim”, she said while placing the coffee cup in front of me.

“Thanks, Seohyun ssi”, I thanked her.

“Just call me Seohyun, seonsaengnim. No need to be formal”, she said with a smile.

“Okay”, I replied as I took the coffee cup while carefully sipping the hot coffee. The latter then started to dig in her salad.

“Ermm.. how old are you, seonsaengnim?”, she asked me while munching her salad.

“I’m 25 years old”, I said, placing the coffee cup back on it’s saucer.

“Mwoh? You’re so young to be a seonsaengnim!”, she said in surprise. I just giggled on her words.

“Well, actually I just helping my friend. Kahi ssi is the assistant professor for this course. She was so busy with her lecturing schedule, so, she asked me to help her to teach her students on dancing”, I humbly said.

“Oh, so, what are you doing besides teaching students dancing?”, she asked again.

“I work at five star restaurant here in Seoul”, I replied. She became more interested to know about me rather than asking about the dance theory lesson. LOL!

“Oh, really? As a what?”, she asked excitedly.

“I’m just part of the restaurant crew there”, I replied. I didn’t want to reveal my real work as I didn’t want the latter to ask further. “So, shall we start our lesson about dance theory?”, I asked while looking at her. She suddenly smacked her own forehead.

“Mianhae, seonsaengnim! I almost forgot about that!” she said as she immediately put the fork down, and opened her bag to take out her notebook and pen. With that, I started our theory lesson until it’s about the time for Seohyun to excuse herself to attend her next class.

“Thank you so much, seonsaengnim!”, she thanked me.

“Thank you for buying me a coffee too”, I replied smilingly.

“Nahh.. it’s just a small matter. Ermm.. seonsaengnim, can I have your phone number?”, her sudden request makes me gasped.

“Huh? For what?”, I asked bluntly. She just smiled.

“Just in case if I missed your lecture. Well, since I was appointed as a Vice President for the Students Council, it always made me late to attend some classes since the president have to hold the meeting during lunch time”, she explained. She then took out her phone, and handed it to me.

“Ah, I see”, I said as I nodded. Then, I took her phone, and punched my number on it. “There”, I said as I handed back the phone to her.

“Gomawo, seonsaengnim!”, she thanked and bowed to me. Alright, I’m sorry I have to go now. I’ll see you later. Bye!”, she waved her hand as she bid me goodbye before she left the cafe.

“Cheonmaneyo.. bye!”, I replied, waving my hand back at her. I then sat back on my chair, watching the latter leaving the cafe until she disappeared from my sight.

“This girl.. indeed.. she’s really something!”, I mumbled as I smiled and shook my head.

Later on that evening

“Yes, Luhan. I know, I know. I’ll be there in 20 minutes”, I said as I ended the call. Luhan called me just now, asking me to come to the restaurant. My assistant manager have to end her shift early because her son was not feeling well, and she need to bring him to the hospital immediately. I just came out of the bathroom when Luhan called me. I need to get ready since I have to replace the assistant manager’s shift tonight.

I took a taxi to go to the restaurant from my apartment’s building. Well, I still don’t have a car, but I have a driving license. My late father actually forced me to take a driving license when I was 16 years old. He said I need to drive his old van to send my mother to the market whenever he wasn’t at home. I guess, my father could feel that he will leaving us someday, and he made me well-prepared before he left us. Gosh! I missed him so much at this moment.

“Thank you for coming, noona. Sorry to disturb your time. I don’t know what to do, so I called you”, Luhan said soon after I entered the back door of the restaurant.

“It’s okay, saeng. Besides, I’m bored tonight since Min wasn’t at home”, I replied while walking towards the office room. Luhan followed me from the back. Both of us entered the office room.

“Oh, jinja? Where did she go?”, he asked. I put my bag inside the drawer, and sat on the chair.

“She was at Fei’s. She told me Fei need her accompany. I guess Fei’s housemate wasn’t at home for tonight”, I replied while checking the invoice file on the desk.

“Ah.. I see. Okay, noona. I need to continue my work now. There’re a lot of customers made reservations for dinner tonight. Again, thanks for coming”, he said as he head out of the office.

“You’re welcome, saeng. Really? Well, I think I need to check on that later”, I replied.

I continued my work checking on several files for 30 minutes. I glanced at my wristwatch, the time now just past 30 minutes to 7:00 in the evening. “Hmm.. why don’t I just go out there for a while to check on the customers doing”, I mumbled while slowly getting up from my chair. I was wearing my work attire, a pair of black suit with a white blouse and a name tag on my jacket. I fixed my jacket and blouse before I headed out of the office.

“Annyeong, Hyo ssi! What are you doing here?”, the receptionist was surprised to see me soon after I approached the reception counter.

“Annyeong, Luna! Mrs. Lee need to go back home because her son is sick. So, I’m here to replace her shift”, I replied. Luna nodded meekly. “So, how’s the reservation so far? Luhan told me that we’ve got so many dinner reservations for tonight?”, I asked her. She then looked at the reservation book, and nodded her head.

“Yes, Hyo ssi. We’ve got almost 20 reservations for dinner. Our kitchen crew need to work so hard today”, she replied.

“Yeah. Our boss should raise their pay after this. So far they’re the best”, I said. “Alright, I need to go back to the office. Just inform me if there’s anything happen, okay?”, I continued before I left the reception counter.

“Dae, Hyo ssi!”, Luna said as she bowed. I was about to leave the counter when suddenly I heard someone calling me instead of my usual name.

“Seongsaengnim!”, the person called. I immediately turned my head to the source of voice. I was surprised to see the unexpected person, standing not far from the reception counter.

“Seohyun?”, I said. She was with a… tall and handsome guy who was standing next to her, smiling. Could that be… her boyfriend? I don’t know why, but why I felt a sudden strange feelings inside my heart. Am I...
