Seohyun’s POV

My name is Seo Joohyun, and I’m 22 years old, and will turn to 23 in few months time. I was born in this city of Seoul, and yeah, I’m a Seoulist. I’m the only child in my family, and my parents loved me so much, to the point that they wanted me to become an independent person. I used to go to school using subway train, which some parents might won’t allow their children to do so. My parents wanted me to become a strong person, being able to overcome any difficulties and obstacles that I might face in the future.

I attended Seoul Middle School and Daeyoung High School, then transferred to Jeonju Arts High School, and graduated from high school in 2010. Currently I pursue my studies at Dongguk University, majoring in acting. I really don’t want to boast myself, but I’m quite a brilliant student. Not to mention that I’m also an accomplished pianist. That’s why I was appointed as the Vice President for Students’ Council.

The new semester has just started, and I’m now in my second year of study. For this semester, I have already registered for five courses, including basic dance course. This is so new to me since I had never dance in my entire life, well, probably I used to dance when I was a little, but that doesn’t counted since I was still a kid at that time. Anyway, I will try my best to complete this course, no matter what. But, yeah, sometimes things doesn’t work according on what we have planned, right?.

Today is the day where I should attend my first dance class, but Jung Yonghwa, our President of Students’ Council has informed me just few minutes ago that we will have an urgent meeting to discuss about the upcoming event as to welcome new students for this semester. Damn! I really hate this kind of situation. I’ve never being late in any of my classes, and most of my friends recognized me as a punctual freak. It’s because I hate being late, and I hate waiting because it would waste my precious time since I have to juggle my time between my study, and the students’ council’s activities.

After having my lunch, I rushed to the student’s activity room where the meeting will be held.  Yonghwa oppa is a third year student of music and performing arts majors. Yeah, I know Yonghwa oppa through this students’ council soon after I was appointed as the Vice President. Starting on that day, we always working together when involving the students’ council activities, but eventually I realized that Yonghwa oppa seems like interested to get close to me. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but I didn’t want to lose my focus on my study since my parents have put their highly hopes on me, to become an excellent student, and to graduate with distinction.

“Alright guys, based on the vote's result, majority agreed to conduct the activities according to the final lists that we have discussed earlier. So, I hope we will get the report from our secretary least by this coming Thursday, so that I can present the report at the Student Affairs meeting on Friday”, Yonghwa oppa said. All of the committee members including me nodded heads in agreement. I keep on glancing my wristwatch. Oh, god! It’s already past fifteen minutes since my dance class has started! I’m so gonna be in trouble! I keep on fidgeting from my seat, keep on praying that this meeting will end as soon as possible.

“Okay, is there anything else that you guys want to ask or suggest?”, Yonghwa oppa asked. I quickly raised my hand. “Yes, Seohyun ssi?”, he said while looking at me with a smile.

“Err.. ermm.. c-can I excuse myself now? I have a class right now”, I said nervously since all of the eyes were on me. Yonghwa oppa then smiled widely.

“Of course, you can, Seohyun ssi. Sorry for taking your time. You may go now”, he said. Without wasting my time, I gathered all my stuffs, and dumped inside my bag as I got up from the seat.

“Thank you, all. Annyeong!”, I said as I bowed and rushed to the door. I sprinted to the Faculty of Arts building where the dance studio was located.

I inhale as much as I could after losing my breath from running, and right now standing in front of the dance studio door. I peeked through the glass panel of the door, and I saw students were busy practicing the dance movement.

“Alright, Seo Joohyun. Just go inside, apologize to your lecturer, and start your class”, I mumbled to myself. I grasped the door knob, and took one last deep breath before I opened the door. I quickly put my bag on the vacant locker. All of the students eyes were on me at that moment, and I bowed to them before I walked to the lecturer.

“Joesonghamnida seonsaengnim! Sorry I’m late! I have a students council meeting just now”, I said as I bowed without looking at the lecturer.

“Gwenchana. Go and take your place over there”, the lecturer replied. I then slowly lifted up her face and..

“You?”, both of us said in unison with a shocking face.

“We bumped each other at the restaurant on that day, right?”, I said to her.

Yeah, that day, when I was having my lunch with Yonghwa oppa at that restaurant.  

“D-dae”, she replied while staring at me without blinking. She just stood still.

“Oh, my god, what a small world!”, I thought. I’ve been thinking about her all this while after that incident at the restaurant, and God must have planned something for me to meet her again. And here we are, meeting each other coincidentally once again. But, why she seemed like... lost?

“Seonsaengnim, are you okay?”, I asked while looking at her curiously. I put my hand on shoulder in concern, and she gasped.

“Y-yeah, I’m okay. Just go and take your place over there”, she quickly said while pointing at the empty space next to other students.

“Okay!”, I replied while immediately taking my place. I don’t know why, but I felt happy to be able to see her again. She looked so young to be a lecturer, and she’s cute too.

“Hold on, what has gotten into you, Seo Joohyun?”

“I.. I actually will going to have a lunch with Hyo seonsaengnim”, I blurted out suddenly. I really don't have any idea since I just want to get rid of him because he sometimes was too clingy with me.

“M-mwoh?”, Hyo seonsaengnim said as she was shocked. I knew she must be surprised with what I was saying just now.

“Seonsaengnim, did you already forget about our lunch appointment to discuss about my extra class that I need to attend?”, I said as I secretly winked at her. She seemed still surprised, but I think she slowly could read on what was playing on my mind right now as she played along with my act.

“Oh, y-yeah. Sorry, I almost forgot about that.. heheh..”, she said she chuckled awkwardly.

“Jinja? Oh, okay. Maybe next time”, Yonghwa said, looking rather disappointed.

“Mianhae, oppa”, I apologized, not wanting him to feel offended.

“Gwenchana, Hyunnie ah. Still got another time, right?”, he said as he let out a small smile.

“Yeah”, I replied shortly.

“So, I will see you around. See you later, Miss Kim”, Yonghwa said as he bowed to her, and waved at me before he left the cafeteria. I exhaled a relief breath after he walked away from us.

“Seohyun, care to explain on what have you done just now?”, Hyo seonsaengnim asked while crossing her arms with a stern look on her face.

CRAP!

Now, how should I explain to her? Should I tell her the truth? Should I tell her that I did that just to shoo him because I don’t like Yonghwa oppa acting so clingy to me? Should I tell her that I just want to spend my time with..

“Seohyun!”, Hyo seonsaengnim exclaimed, makes me startled.

“Oh, huh.. ermm.. s-sorry about that, seonsaengnim. I actually.. I really want to discuss with you about my extra class since I only got my free time during lunch. H-he always forced me to spend my time with him, so, it’s really difficult for me to have free time for myself sometimes”, I lied, with hope that she will buy it.

“Jinja? Hmm.. okay”, she replied without asking further.

“Phew! That was close!”, I thought in relief.

“Alright, I need to go now, Seohyun ah. My class will start soon”, she said as she got up from her seat.

“Okay, seonsaengnim. So, I’ll see you during lunch time, okay? I will come to the dance studio later”, I replied as I couldn’t believe I will say that to her. She stared at me blankly.

“Seonsaengnim, are you okay?”, I asked in concern as she seemed like lost.. again.

“Y-yeah. S-sure”, she stuttered. I don’t know why, but I felt like there’s something wrong with her. This is the second time she seems like was spacing out, like she was thinking on something.

“I-I’ll see you soon”, she said before she left. I smiled, and nodded.

“Yes! I’m going to have a lunch date with her”, I thought excitedly.

I glanced at my wristwatch, another five minutes to 12:00 p.m.  After the lecturer gave his last words, I started to gather my stuff, and put inside my bag. I have not been this excited every time I hang out with Yonghwa oppa. Yeah, we used to hang out together several times, but it’s more like meeting a friend, whilst we’re the Students’ Council member, so, our topic of conversation basically centered on matters relating to the activities of our student council. Occasionally, he also talks about personal things, but, I just thought he just wanted to share as a friend, nothing more than that.

“Hyunnie ah, why are you in hurry? This is not so you”, Nicole, my best friend asked, furrowing her brows in curious. Yeah, this is not my usual self. Seo Joohyun, the brilliant student will usually wait until the lecturer dismissed our class before she left the classroom.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, Nicole ah. I’m going to meet Hyo seonsaengnim after this. I need to discuss with her about my extra class since I missed her early lesson on my first class yesterday”, I said as I reasoned.

“Oh, jinja? Can I join you? I don’t have any class after this”, she asked. I looked at her curiously.

“You’re not taking dance course this semester, right?”, I replied as I started to feel weird with this best friend of mine. She shook her head.

“Nope. But, I heard from other students who took the course yesterday that Hyo seonsaengnim is super hot. I wonder how’s she look like. Since you said you wanna see her, so, can I tag along?”, she said while batting her eyelashes with her pleading look.

“Haish, this kid. I just wanna have my time alone with Hyo seonsaengnim, though! Come on, Joohyun. Think.. think!”, I thought. Assa! Suddenly I have got an idea.

“Ermm.. I’m sorry I can’t, Nicole ah. Hyo seonsaengnim only have a short time as she needs to go to another place after our meeting”, I said, hopefully she will buy it. Nicole pouted.

“I’m sorry, okay? I promise I will bring you to meet her whenever she have a free time”, I said. Nicole’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“Jinja? Thank you, Hyunnie ah!”, she replied as she hugged me happily.

PHEW!

“Alright, I need to go now. I’ll see you later, okay?”, I said as I got up from my seat, and took my bag before I walked to the door.

“Don’t forget to say hi to her for me, okay?”, she replied while waving her hand at me. I just rolled my eyes annoyingly, and quickly went out of the classroom.

I arrived at the dance studio twenty minutes early before Hyo seonsaengnim class ended. I don’t want to be late just like my first class on yesterday. While waiting for her, I sat on the floor, not far from the door, and opened my notebook to check on my notes regarding the first dance lesson on yesterday. I need to be prepared before I could discuss with her.

After twenty minutes of waiting, the students gradually went out of the dance studio. I quickly closed my notebook, and dumped inside my bag. I slowly got up from the floor, and stood still while my eyes searching for the figure that I wanted to see the most. Finally, I saw the cute blonde girl went out of the studio. I smiled as I quickly walked to her. My smile suddenly faded when I saw there’s a girl was talking to her. And, this tall, beautiful and y girl having her body contact so close to Hyo seonsaengnim while talking. Both of them looked so close. I don’t know why, but I felt.. hurt? Mad? Jealous?

“Alright, Hyo. Don’t forget to say hi to Min and Fei, okay?”, the girl said as she gave Hyo seonsaengnim a hug.

“Sure, unnie. Thanks for sparing some of your busy time visiting me today”, she replied as she returned the hug.

“Haishh.. don’t mention it, Hyo. I should be the one who thanked you for helping me out. Okay, I’ve got to go now. Jung Ah unnie will get mad at me for being late later. I’ll see you later!”, the girl said as she pulled off the hug, and bid Hyo seonsaengnim goodbye before she quickly left her. Hyo seonsaengnim waved her hand at the girl, and was about to walk when suddenly she saw me. She looked surprised.

“Seohyun? What are you doing here?”, she asked as she walked closer to me.

“Don’t tell me you forget again?”, I replied while crossing my arms. She seemed like was taken aback with my words.

“Me? Forget about what?”, she pointed to herself. I felt so disappointed with her words. She indeed forgot about our lunch appointment which I was so looking forward to have it with her.

“It’s.. it’s okay, seonsaengnim. Just.. just forget about it”, I said in frustration tone as I slowly walked away from her. I was about to reach my ten steps of walking when suddenly I felt a grip on my arm.

“W-wait! I’m sorry! I’m sorry I forgot about our lunch appointment”, she said as she smiled apologetically. My heart suddenly felt fluttered. I gazed at her hand that was still gripping my arm. She noticed on it, and quickly released her grip.

“Opss.. sorry!”, she said.

“You know, I kind of forgetful person. So, pardon me if I forget about our lunch appointment today. I tend to have a memory loss disease sometimes”, she said which makes me chuckle on her words.

“It’s okay, seonsaengnim”, I replied with a smile.

“So, where should we have our lunch date then?”, she asked, which causing my eyes widen in surprise.

“D-date?”, I asked. She suddenly smacked her forehead, and her face flushed in embarrassment.

“I-I mean, appointment.. yeah.. lunch appointment.. heheh..”, she said as she laughed awkwardly. I couldn’t help but to laugh too.

“Alright, if you called this as a lunch date, it’s a date then!”, I suddenly blurted out and grabbed her hand, making the latter dumbfounded. But, her lips slowly formed a smile, and to my surprise, she entwined our hands together as I led her to the parking lot with a wide smile carved on my lips. I honestly didn’t know what has gotten into us today, but deep down in my heart, I know one thing...

“I’m in love!”
