The first time

 

Hyoyeon’s POV

 

“No way!”, Min said, squinting her eyes while looking at me, her best friend a.k.a her housemate.

 

“Yes way!”, I replied smilingly.

 

“You’re dating with your student, though! How can I believe that?”, she said in disbelief.

 

“So? Why not? You’re dating with Fei who’s also your ex-student too”, I replied with a smirk.

 

“Aishhh.. typical Hyoyeon!”, she grunted while scooping some ice-cream and stuffed it into . She cringed at the coldness of the ice-cream. We just had our dinner together at home, and she was eating her favorite dessert. We were sitting at the couch while watching TV.

 

“So, tell me, how does your girlfriend looked like? Is she pretty like Fei?”, she asked, causing me rolled my eyes annoyingly.

 

“Yah, your Fei is not the only pretty girl in this world, though!”, I sarcastically said, earning a laughter from my housemate.

 

“I’m just kidding here, babe. So, tell me”, she replied while staring at me, anticipating for my next words.

 

“Aishh.. fine!”, I said. “Did you still remember the girl who I bumped into at the restaurant last time? When we had our lunch at the restaurant near your dancing academy”, I said. Min furrowed her brows while trying to recall that moment. After a few seconds, she widened her eyes, and snapped her fingers as she suddenly remembered on something.

 

“You mean, that girl?”, Min asked. I nodded my head with a smile.

 

“The girl who wanna join us for dance practice at my dance studio?”, she asked again. I just nodded my head. Min slowly grinned.

 

“Daebak!”, she said while giving me thumbs up. I laughed at her dorky act.

 

“RING! RING! RING!”

 

Suddenly my phone rang. I quickly took my phone that was on the coffee table, and immediately smiled when I saw the caller’s name. I got up from the couch.

 

“Sorry, babe. I need to take this call. It’s from my girlfriend”, I said with a grin. Min just rolled her eyes annoyingly, and shooed me using her hand gesture. I chuckled, and quickly headed to my room.

 

“Annyeong!”, I answered after I entered my room, and closed the door. I hopped on the bed, and lie down.

 

“Annyeong, Hyonnie! Am I disturbing you right now?”, Seohyun asked.

 

“Anni. I just had my dinner, and having a chat with Min, my housemate. Have you had your dinner too?”, I replied.

 

“Dae. I just had my dinner too. I was thinking of you while having my dinner earlier. I wish we could have our dinner together some other time. Can we?”, she said, making me smile from ear to ear. This girlfriend of mine, never fails to make my heart fluttered.

 

“Sure we can, babe. I will try to find my free time, and we can have our breakfast, lunch and dinner together in one day, how about that?”, I suggested.

 

“Jinja?”, she asked for assurance.

 

“Yes, sweetheart”, opss.. did I just say that? I felt a sudden heat on my face.

 

“Aww.. can’t wait for that day to come. I love you, Hyonnie!”, she said, causing my heart thumping wildly.

 

“I love you too, Hyunnie ah”, I replied smilingly. “So, what are you doing right now?”, I asked her.

 

“Right now? Ermm.. talking to you?”, she replied, causing me to chuckle on her words.

 

“Yeah, I know that. I mean, before you’re talking to me”, I said.

 

“Ah.. in a middle of doing my assignment. I almost done, but got stuck at the summary part. So, I just take a break for a while, and decided to call you, because..”, she paused, making me curious on her next words.

 

“Because?”, I asked.

 

“Because.. I miss you..”, she said, almost whispering. I cupped my mouth, wanting to stop myself from grinning like an idiot. Indeed, we missed each other a lot since I only got my classes on Monday and Tuesday, while the rest of the days I spent my time working at the restaurant. While she got busy with her other classes, and her student activities as well.

 

“Ah.. I see. I miss you too”, I replied with a grin. Gosh, if she could see my grin right now, I thought she might think that I looked like a ert. Aishh.. Kim Hyoyeon.. snapped that out, will you?

 

“Hyonnie ah. Are you free after working tomorrow?”, she asked.

 

“Ermm.. yes. Why?”, I replied.

 

“I want to take you out to watch a late night movie with me”, she said. W-wait, late night movie?

 

“Late night movie? Wae? I thought you’re not doing that since you used to tell me that you usually go to bed early”, I replied.

 

“Wae? Can’t I? I just want to spend my time with you, although I have to sacrifice my sleeping time”, she said, causing me to laugh on her words again.

 

“Arasso. Yes, you can do anything you want with me, Hyunnie ah. I’ve got no problem at all”, I replied smilingly. I heard she’s squealing happily, making me laughed on her childish antics. This girlfriend of mine, never fails to amuse me.

 

Well, I really didn’t mind at all since tomorrow is Friday, and I will have my rest day on Saturday. I usually will took turn working on alternate Sundays. Coincidently, this coming Sunday falls on my free day, so, I think it’s a good to spend my time with my girlfriend.

 

“Gomawo Hyonnie. Can’t wait to see you on tomorrow”, she said.

 

“Me too, Hyunnie ah. Alright, you should continue to finish your assignment, and after that go straight to sleep, okay?”, I replied.

 

“Dae. Good night, Hyonnie. I love you!”, she said, causing me to get goosebumps because of the words. Aishh.. Seo Juhyun!

 

“Good night, babe. I love you too. Sleep well, okay?”, I replied, sounds a bit.. cheeky? I just shrugged it off. Besides, she’s already become my girlfriend, right? So I can say whatever I want, right? Right?

 

“Okay. You too. Annyeong!”, she said as she ended the call.

 

“Annyeong!”, I replied before I hung up. I put my phone on the side table, and lie back on my bed, putting my arms under my head. I keep on smiling while recalling on my phone conversation with her. So, this is how it feels when we are in love, huh? It feels like you want to smile the whole day, and floating away like a feather up to the cloud nine. I keep on thinking about her until I slowly dozed off.

“Unnie, do you want me to give you a lift home?”, Luna asked me. We were usually the last person left at the restaurant. After making sure other staffs went home, me and Luna will locked the door. Luna has already getting used to offer me to send me home after work.

 

“It’s okay, Luna ah. My friend will fetch me later”, I said with a smile. Luna furrowed her brows as she was thinking on something.

 

“You mean, Min unnie?”, she asked. I shook my head.

 

“Anni… it’s..”, I was about to continue my words when suddenly a car stopped in front of the restaurant. The owner of the car then got off, and rushed towards me.

 

“Am I late?”, she asked while giving me a hug.

 

“Anni..”, I said while glancing at Luna. I could see she was smirking at me while mouthing, “oh, you mean your girlfriend?”, using her fingers to quote the ‘girlfriend’ word.

 

“Ah, thank God!”, she replied, and pulled of the hug. Like she could read my mind, Luna cleared , trying to get our attention.

 

“Ermm.. unnie, Seohyun ssi. I think I need to make my move first. I will see you around. Good night!”, Luna said as she bid us a goodbye.

 

“Dae. Good night!”, Seohyun and me replied in unison. Luna then headed to the space where she parked her car. After making sure Luna has already left us, I checked the restaurant’s main door once again to make sure it’s already locked.

 

“Alright, kaja!”, I said as I grabbed her hand, and intertwined our fingers together.

 

“Kaja!”, she replied, and walked towards her car. She then took my hand, and opened my palm to put her car keys. I furrowed my brows.

 

“Do you want me to drive your car?”, I asked her. She nodded her head smilingly.

 

“Arasso”, I just complied without asking her further. Maybe she was tired and sleepy since it’s already 10:00 p.m., and people usually will lost their focus when they’re tired and sleepy. I opened the passenger’s door for her, and she slowly got inside the car. I closed the door, and rushed towards the driver’s side. I the engine, and before I could change the driving gear, Seohyun suddenly moved forward to hug me. I gasped as I was in shocked.

 

“I really missed you”, she whispered into my ears, and I could feel she kissed my cheek. It really sent shivers down my spine. I wrapped my arm around her waist, and pulled her a little closer to me.

 

“I missed you too, babe”, I replied while rubbing her back. We just stayed like that for a while.

 

“Do you still want to watch a late night movie with me?”, I asked as we’re still in each other’s embrace. I could feel she just nodded her head on my shoulder. “Are you sure?”, I asked her again. She then pulled off the hug, and stared into my eyes. I could see her eyes were tired, but she just smiled, and cupped my face. She slowly leaned closer and…

 

“Hyonnie ah, are you okay?”, she asked while patting gently on my cheek, causing me startled.

 

“Huh?”, I said as I looked at the car keys that was still in my palm.

 

“Oh my God, Kim Hyoyeon! What were you thinking? Just snapped out of it!”, I thought as I shook my head, wanting to shake off the dirty thought that I had.

 

“Hyonnie ah, are you sure you’re okay? Are you having a headache?”, she asked again while putting her palm on my forehead.

 

“N-no. I’m okay. Let’s go”, I said as I unlocked the door, and opened the passenger’s door for her.

 

“Thank you”, she thanked me, and quickly slid herself inside the car.

 

“You’re welcome”, I replied, and closed the door before rushed to the driver’s side.

 

“Don’t forget to put on your seatbelt, okay?”, she reminds me. Yeah, my girlfriend is ‘by the book’ person, how can I forget about that?

 

“Dae”, I said as I complied, and put on the seatbelt before turning on the engine. I changed the driving gear, and put down the handbrake before I pressed the accelerator, and started to drive the car away from the restaurant building.

 

“So, where to?”, I asked her while my eyes keep on focusing on the road.

 

“Ermm.. can we go to the CGV at Gangnam? I want to watch ‘Gone with the Wind’ movie. I have already booked the tickets”, she replied.

 

“Gone with what?”, I asked, furrowing my brows. What kind of movie is that?

 

“Gone with the Wind, Hyonnie ah. I want to watch that movie because I like it, and coincidentally it related to the assignment that has been given by my lecturer”, she replied. Oh, so, she just wanted to watch the movie because of her assignment, not because she really wants to spend her time with me? I felt hurt.

 

“Ah, I see”, I replied in short. I just keep driving the car, and was so immersed in my thought until I didn’t realize she’s already fell asleep.

 

“Aishh.. jinja..”, I muttered while glancing at the latter.

After I parked the car at the CGV’s parking space, I still didn’t turn off the engine as Seohyun was still in her dreamland. I leaned closer to her face since her head was tilted to my side. I stared at her plump lips, and gulped.

 

“No, Hyo, no! You can’t take an advantage on your girlfriend. She’s an innocent girl”, I thought. I took a deep breath, and slowly patted on her cheek to wake her up. After several attempts, finally her eyes fluttered opened.

 

“Where are we?”, she asked, still in dazed. I smiled while removing her seat belt.

 

“We are already arrived at the CGV building. Kaja!”, I said as I turned off the car’s engine.

 

“I’m sorry I fell asleep”, she said while smiling apologetically.

 

“Aishh.. gwenchana. I know you are tired, but still you want to take me out to watch late night movie with you. I really appreciate that”, I said as I tried to soothe her.

 

“But, you’re tired too, Hyonnie ah. Although I know, but still I want to drag you here. Mianhae”, she apologized.

 

“Aigoo.. you don’t have to say like that, Hyunnie ah. I’m fine with it. Alright, let’s go!”, I replied as I got off the car, and rushed to her side and opened the car’s door for her.

 

“Thank you, baby”, she thanked me while getting out of the car. Baby? Oh. My. God! Did she just call me by that?

 

“D-dae?”, I said as I was stunned. She chuckled and sneaked her arm through mine.

 

“Kaja!”, she said, and pulled me by arm to start walking.

 

After claiming the ticket at the ticketing counter, I asked her to wait in front of the cinema’s entrance as I wanted to buy popcorn and drinks. She insisted to follow me, and I got no choice but to drag her along while walking hand in hand towards the snacks counter.

 

“Do you want to share it, or you want me to order individually?”, I asked.

 

“We just share together, okay?”, she replied with a smile. I smiled at her back sheepishly while nodding my head, causing the latter to giggle.

 

“What would like to order, Miss?”, the girl at the counter asked.

 

“Ermm.. can you please give me one large box of popcorn, and one large cup of Diet Coke?”, I placed my order.

 

“Alright. One large box of popcorn, and one large cup of Diet Coke. All together is fifteen thousand won, Miss”, she said after she punched in the orders into the ordering machine. She went at the back to prepare the orders, and walking back to the ordering counter. I took my purse from the bag, and took out twenty thousand won bill, and handed it to the girl. She took the bill, and handed me the balance.

 

“I will take these”, Seohyun said as she took the popcorn box and the drinks cup from the counter.

 

“Thanks, babe. But, let me help you to hold the popcorn box. You hold the cup, okay?”, I said.

 

“Aww.. you two are so sweet”, the girl said while looking at us. I raised my brows while looking at Seohyun. Both of us then giggled at her words.

 

“Thanks!”, I said, and with that, we immediately left the counter, and heading to the cinema.

“Are you sure we are in the right room?”, I asked. There were only three couples inside the cinema’s room, and all of them were sitting at the couple seat.

 

“Yup, and our seat at the last row there”, she replied while pointing her finger at the row where our seats were located. She then lead me to our seat, and put the popcorn box at the small compartment between the seat. I put the cup at the cup holder next to the compartment and sat down.

 

After they aired the commercial film for about ten minutes, the movie then started. Seohyun scooted closer to me, and linked her arm through mine. I don’t know why, but suddenly I get butterflies in my stomach. I mean, I will experience it like that every time she gets close to me.

 

“A classic movie?”, I said soon after it’s started. Seohyun chuckled while glancing at me.

 

“Wae? You don’t like it?”, she replied as she glanced back at the big white screen at the front.

 

“Uhmm.. I don’t know. I need to watch it first, then I can tell you later”, I said while scratching my head, earning a small laugh from her.

 

“You’re so cute, you know!”, she replied, and without a warning, she suddenly pecked on my cheek. Omo! I froze at my seat as I suddenly felt the heat on my face. I glanced at her, and she was back concentrating on the movie like nothing happened. Aishh.. this girl!

 

After almost an hour, I started to feel sleepy as I didn’t really pay much attention on the movie. I glanced at Seohyun, and her eyes still glued on the big white screen. Yeah, how can I forget that she needs to watch this movie since it’s related to the assignment that she needs to work on. I then back to square one, feeling like I wasn’t the main reason of why she wanted to watch this movie. So, I decided to sleep for a while before the movie ends.

 

I startled as I was about to close my eyes when I felt she was fidgeting like she's in a state of discomfort. I glanced at her, and indeed her face looks unpleasant, but her eyes still concentrating on the screen. I shifted my glance at the screen, and my eyes widened in surprise as there was a kissing and a little make out scene playing on the screen at the moment. My eyes then shifted back to her, and without I noticed earlier, she was staring at me. I gulped, but I managed to utter some words to her.

 

“H-hyunnie ah, are you okay?”, I asked. She just kept mum, but her eyes then shifted to my lips.

 

“Hyunnie?”, I called her name again, but she still didn’t answer. I was about to open my mouth when suddenly she moved forward, and wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me closer to her face. I could feel a cold and soft sensation on my lips, and I realized that she was kissing me! Dear Lord! Is this for real? I just closed my eyes, and returned the kiss as little by little it becomes passionate. We pulled off the kiss, and gasping for some air to breathe. I patted my cheek so hard as I wanted to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming.

 

“Oww!”, I groaned in pain. I heard she let out a soft chuckle. I didn’t dare to look at her as I felt so embarrassed with my stupid act. She then leaned closer, and wrapped her arms around my waist, and leaning her head on my shoulder. Dear Lord! I think I’m going to pass out again like the first time we confessed our feelings to each other before. My heart started beating crazily.

 

“Mianhae”, she apologized. I furrowed my brows as I couldn’t understand on her sudden apologizing.

 

“Wae?”, I asked. I slowly wrapped my arm around her shoulder.

 

“I..”, her voice trailed off before she continued. “I steal your kiss”, she said almost whispering. I smiled, and pulled her closer to hug her.

 

“Gwenchana, Hyunnie ah. You didn’t steal it. I want it to happen too”, I said. I dared myself to kiss on top of her head. My love for her has been growing deeper and deeper after sharing my first kiss with her.

 

“Is.. is it your first time?”, she asked. I furrowed my brows.

 

“First time? You mean, watching this movie?”, I replied. I knew what she meant, but I decided to .

 

“No, silly! I mean, the kiss. Is it your first kiss?”, she said while lifting her head from my shoulder, and staring at me. I smiled and nodded my head.

 

“Oh, m-me too”, she said shyly. I raised my brows in surprise.

 

“Jinja? So, I’m your first?”, I asked. She nodded her head, and shifted her gaze at the white screen. But, I could see that she was smiling. I chuckled, and scooted closer to hug her. She then slowly wrapped her arms around my waist, and we stay hugging each other, and continued to watch the movie until the end.

“Thank you for accompanying me tonight”, Seohyun said soon after I stopped the car in front of my apartment building.

 

“You’re welcome, babe”, I replied. I took off the seatbelt, and was about to open the door when suddenly she grabbed my wrist.

 

“Wae?”, I asked. She seems like wanted to say something to me, but she looks like she’s contemplating whether she should do it or not. She finally released my wrist, and let out a small smile.

 

“Ermm.. nothing”, she said. I didn’t know why, but I felt reluctant to let her go. As could read her mind, I smiled and grabbed her hand, intertwined our fingers together.

 

“I’m free this weekend. Do you want to have a sleepover at my place tonight? Tomorrow we could spend our time together on whatever you wish to do?”, I said. I could see her eyes light up as I finished my words.

 

“Jinja? Can I do that?”, she asked enthusiastically. I chuckled as I found it amusing.

 

“Yes, sweetheart. Of course you can do that. We’re a couple, remember?”, I replied, causing her face flushed. “But, you didn’t bring your extra clothes, so how? I don’t think you can fit mine”, I asked. She just smiled, and let go off my hand to open the car’s door.

 

“Baby, can you please open the back compartment?”, she said. The word ‘baby’ gave me a shiver down my spine. Aishh...

 

“Y-yeah, sure”, I stuttered. I got off the car, and followed her to the back of the car. I was surprised when I found that she’s already brought out her backpack from the compartment.

 

“Jeongmal..”, I mumbled while looking at her in disbelief, causing her to chuckle.

 

“I always well prepared. Alright, kaja!”, she said as she closed the back compartment. I locked the car after making sure I parked it at the parking space. I grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers together, heading to the main entrance of my apartment building.
