First ride

Sooyoung’s POV

“Hi, Miss Jessica!”, I said after I took my helmet off .

“Miss Sooyoung?”, Jessica replied in a state of shock. She just stood still there, frozen, like she was seeing a ghost of me.

“Yes, it’s me. What are you doing here?”, I asked while fixing my messy hair.

“I’m waiting for a cab to go to work today”, she replied.

“Ah, I see. I mean, what are you doing in this area? Do you live nearby here?”, I asked again.

“Y-yeah. My house is at the housing estate up there”, she replied while pointing at the housing estate area which located across the street.

“Great! 10 points for you, Choi Sooyoung!”, I thought.

“Oh, so you need to cross the road to get a cab in here?”, I asked.

“Yes”, she replied while nodding her head.

“I see. I live in this area too”, I said. “Well, since we’re in the same direction, and working at the same place, I can give you a lift to the office. You don’t have to wait for a cab”, I said as I sincerely offered to her.

“It.. it’s okay, Miss Sooyoung. Besides, I.. I’m not used to ride a motorbike”, she said hesitantly.

“Ah, I understand. But, you don’t have to worry, Miss Jessica. You can trust me. I will ride in a moderate speed. Besides, my sister has already warned me, and I have to stick to my promise to her”, I said smilingly.

I glanced at her, and I could see that she was smiling too. I prayed hard that she will agree with my offer. After a while, she finally nodded her head.

“Yess..! Another 10 points for you, Choi Sooyoung!”, I thought as I felt like my stomach is doing somersaults as I was beyond happy. I quickly took the spare helmet and jacket from the helmet’s lock, and unlock the helmet’s strap.

“Here, let me help to put these on you”, I said as I slowly and carefully put the helmet on her head. Luckily the helmet fits her head. I actually bought that helmet and jacket specially for my sister, so, the size is just perfect. I helped her to lock the helmet strap, and handed the jacket for her to wear.

“C-can you please hold my handbag first?”, she asked while holding her black leather handbag.

“Yeah, sure”, I replied. She handed the bag to me, and started to put the jacket on her. I helped her to zip the jacket up, and my sudden action caused her jolted in surprise. I could see her cheeks blushed a little. I bite my lips trying to suppress me from smiling like an idiot.

“Alright, done!”, I said. “Okay, come here”, I said as I automatically grabbed her hand without my conscious. It’s not my intention to hold her hand actually, so, I really didn’t notice on her reaction. I quickly released her hand after we reached at my motorbike.

“Alright, first, you need to step at this left foot peg with your left foot, and hold onto my shoulder, and then swing your right leg across this seat to sit behind me, and lastly, put your right foot at this right foot peg, okay?”, I said as I taught her on how to get on the motorbike.

“Okay”, she replied in short. I got on the bike first, and put my both feet on the ground as to support the balance of the motorbike. I could feel her hands trembling once she put them on my shoulder. I smiled to myself as I waited until she finally sitting safely behind me.

“Are you okay back there?”, I asked in concern.

“Y-yes. I’m okay”, she replied. I handed back the handbag to her, and she took it slowly and carefully.

“Miss Jessica, ermm.. can I call you Sica?”, I said.

“H-huh? Y-yes”, she replied, sounded rather shyly. I couldn’t help myself but to giggle. I pressed the start button, and rammed the engine a bit to make sure its heated enough to start a ride.

“Sica, put your handbag in the middle, and wrapped your hands around my waist, okay?”, I shouted a bit to her.

“D-dae!”, she replied.

After making sure everything is okay, I started to ride with a slow speed. I felt a sudden tight grip around my waist, and I couldn’t help but to smile as my stomach keeps flipping.

As I promised, I keep my ride in a moderate speed. Besides, it’s still winter, and the road might be a bit slippery. I need to be more careful since I have someone who's riding along with me. I didn’t want her first experience in riding a motorbike will turned into a nightmare. This girl, yes, she’s my dream girl. I will try to win her heart no matter what, that if she’s still single.

The journey to the office today was so beautiful and smooth, and less traffic jam. How I wish I could do this everyday with her. I really don’t mind if we got trapped in traffic jam for hours, as long as she’s with me. After 40 minutes of the journey, finally we arrived at the basement parking lot of our office building.

“Alright, we’re here”, I said soon after I parked my motorbike at my special parking space. I heard no sound or any movements from the latter. I started to feel worried, worried that if she felt scared or traumatized riding a motorbike with me. Suddenly I felt a sudden weight at my back. I looked down, and Jessica’s hands still wrapped tightly around my waist.

“Sica, are you okay?”, I asked. Still, no response.

“Jessica, are you okay?”, this time I patted her hand. I could feel her body jolted from my back.

“H-huh? W-where are we?”, she asked with a weak voice. Don’t tell me…

“Miss Jessica Jung, did you fell asleep?”, I asked her.

“H-huh? S-sorry…”, she replied slowly. I let out a soft laugh. I still couldn’t believe that my dream girl could fall asleep while riding a motorbike! What an amazing fact that I got from her today.

“It’s okay. Alright, you need to hold my shoulders, and then step your both feet on the foot pegs. Swing your right leg across this seat and put your right feet on the ground. Do it slowly, okay?”, I said as I giving her instruction on how to get down from the motorbike.

“D-dae”, she replied, and slowly she did as what I’ve instructed to her earlier.

After making sure she safely got down from the motorbike, I took my helmet off, and got down from motorbike. I fixed my messy hair, and put my helmet at the motorbike’s seat.

“Here, let me help you”, I said. She just stood still while I starting to unlock the helmet strap, and slowly and carefully took the helmet off from her head. I almost burst into laughter when I looked at her messy hair. She raised her brows while looking at me.

“Sorry for making your hair messy. Here, let me help you”, I said as I fixed her fringe. She let out a small smile, and I saw her face flushed.

“T-thanks”, she said.

“You’re welcome. There, your hair looks okay now”, I replied. She she just smiled in return. She then ped the jacket and took it off, and handed it to me.

“Thanks for the ride”, she said.

“Ah, don’t mention it. We’re in the same direction, so, I think I shouldn’t let you to take a cab”, I said while busy putting the helmet and jacket back at the helmet lock. I took my small sling handbag, and fixing my blouse and pants before we headed to the elevator.

“Ermm.. Sica, can I ask you something?”, I said after we were inside the elevator.

“Yeah, sure”, she replied without looking at me. She was standing next to me. I think she still felt shy with me, but I just brushed off the thought as I felt more comfortable talking to her.

“Why did you take a cab? Don’t you have your own car?”, I asked.

“I don’t have one since I just came back from U.S. My younger sister or my dad will send me if I want to go somewhere. But, today she have some errands to do, and unfortunately not in the same direction as mine, so, I plan just to take a cab this morning, until… until you offered me to ride your motorbike”, she said shyly. I just smiled over her words.

“DING!”

“Okay, we’re here now. Come, follow me”, I said as I let her went out of the elevator first. She waits until I got out of the elevator, and I led her to my office. Since it’s still early, not many staff were in the office, in fact, my Bunny also still not arrived yet.

“Please come in”, I said after I opened the door for her. She smiled, and entered inside. I saw her eyes immediately shifted and glued at the sample of clothes that neatly arranged on the hangers at the corner of my office room. She was looking at the samples, one by one.

“Sica, please have a seat first”, I said as I sat on my chair. She then immediately walked towards my desk, and sat on the chair in front of me.

“Okay, first of all, I would like to welcome you to the Choi Manufacturing. As you already know, so far we are the leading garment manufacturer for brand 'Four Seasons', and those samples that you had take a look just now were our most top selling products for this season. Well, our designers were not as famous as those whom you used to work with, but we are able to compete with other well-known manufacturers, and maintain our stock selling well. So, I hope, you will find comfortable working with us, and please let me know if you need anything, or any ideas that you want to share with us”, I said as gave my brief introduction about our company. She just smiled while nodding her head.

“Thank you, Miss Sooyoung”, she replied.

“Na-ah. Just call me Sooyoung. Although I’m your boss, I prefer you to call me by my name, just like what my Bunny used to call”, I said as I grinned.

“B-bunny?”, she furrowed her brows as she was confused with what I’ve said just now.

“O-oh.. Bunny.. I-I mean, Sunny, my Personal Assistant.. she’s cute like bunny, that’s why I called her by that name.. hehehe..”, I said as I chuckled awkwardly.

“Ohh..”, she couldn’t help but to laugh too.

“Ehemmm!”, suddenly our conversation being disturbed by someone.

“I heard my name being said just now. So, what’s up, kiddo?”, Sunny who just arrived appeared at the door, and walked towards my desk.

“Ah, there you are! Err.. Sica, I think you’ve already met Sunny on yesterday, right?”, I said as I got up from my chair, followed by Jessica.

“Yes”, she replied while nodding her head.

“Sica?”, Sunny’s eyes widened in surprise after she heard me called Jessica’s nickname. Her surprised look then slowly turned into smirking.

“I-I mean, M-Miss Jessica”, I stuttered as I felt a sudden heat on my face.

“Ahh.. Sica as Miss Jessica”, Sunny nodded her head and giggled.

“H-hey ladies, wanna grab a breakfast together?”, I asked Sunny as I tried to cover my face from blushing even more, and tried to change the topic as I knew Sunny will going to tease me along the day.

“I don’t mind at all, and plus, it’s on you today”, Sunny immediately replied.

“Yah! Why must on me, huh?”, I snapped at her. Sunny then purposely doing her catwalk towards me, and pulled me by my collar as our face facing each other just an inch away.

“Because, Sooyoungie, you’re the one who asked us to have a breakfast with you, so, that means, it’s on you, though!”, she said and then flicked my forehead before she released my collar from her grip.

“Y-yah! Why are you doing this to me!”, I cried while caressing my forehead. She just laughed while looking at me amusingly.

“That’s for teasing me on yesterday”, she said.

“Haishh.. this brat!”, I said while showing my fist at her playfully. Jessica giggled while shaking her head.

“Pardon us, Miss Jessica. Or, should I call you Sica as well?”, Sunny said while glancing and smirking at me.

“Just ignore her, Sica. Now get out of my office before I throw this file at you”, I said while lifting the file that was on my desk.

“Pfrttttt!”, Sunny stuck her tongue out at me before walking out of my office. Haishh.. this danshin!

“Sorry, Sica. We like to tease each other ever since she became my PA. We are quite close because our parents were friends”, I explained to her.

“Oh, I see”, she replied with a smile.

“Come, let me introduce you to other staff in this department besides Sunny”, I said as I led her to the door.

After taking her to the introduction tour around our office, the three of us then headed to the cafeteria which located at the level one of the building.

At the cafeteria

“What do you want to have, Sica? Let me buy for you”, I said soon after we sat on our table.

“Since she came from America, why don’t you buy American breakfast set for her?”, Sunny said. Yeah, that makes sense. This danshin, sometimes her brain could function well too.. hehe.. Jessica just smiled all the time, maybe she felt amused with our silly antics.

“Alright, danshin. Follow me! Err.. please excuse us, Sica”, I said as I dragged my Bunny along to the food counter.

“Youngie, don’t you think that’s too obvious?”, Sunny said while her eyes was busy looking at the row of foods that arranged on the counter.

“Too obvious? Yah, what do you mean by that?”, I replied as I furrowed my brows.

“You know what I mean, Youngie. Do I have to explain it to you?”, she said annoyingly. “Don’t you think it’s too fast?”, she then continued. I stopped walking, and slowly let out a sigh.

“I don’t want to lose my chance this time, Bunny”, I finally admitted. “She’s so perfect, and I fell in love with her at the first sight”, I continued. Sunny smiled while looking at me as like she could read my mind.

“As I said earlier, don’t you think that was too fast? What if she don’t like you, or she didn’t have the same feeling as yours? What if she’s already taken?”, she bombarded me with her ‘if’ questions.

“Then, I’m willing to take the risk, Bunny. It’s better to have tried and failed, than to never have tried at all”, I replied with a smile. “What I need is time, Bunny. Just give me some time, and I’m positively sure that Jessica will eventually falling in love with me”, I said confidently.

“Wow, I really admire your courage, Youngie. My advice is just not to put on hope too much. Just loosen it a bit, don’t grip on it too hard, okay? Aja, aja, fighting!”, she said as she patted my shoulder as for the encouragement.

“Thanks, Bunny!”, I said as I chuckled. That’s my Bunny. Although she’s disagree at first, but at the end of the day, she always support me no matter what.

After done picking the food, ordering the drinks, and making the payment at the counter, we immediately carrying the trays, and heading to our table where my soon-to-be girlfriend was waiting. Yeah, soon-to-be.

“Sorry we’re late, Sica. Your girlfriend here taking too much time picking the food for you”, Sunny’s words made my eyes grew bigger. She just act innocently while sitting on her chair.

“Yah!”, I cried while glaring at her. I took a glance at Jessica, and I noticed her face flushed.

“Damn you, Bunny!”, I thought.

“Mind her words, Sica. Here’s your breakfast set. Alright, let’s eat!”, I said as I tried to distract her mind from thinking further of what Sunny has said earlier. We starting to eat our breakfast while chatting on random things.
