Eunhyuk blushed as he felt Kyuhyun’s eyes on him again. They were sitting in a little restaurant, not too fancy but enough for a date for two boys. From the moment they had sat down Eunhyuk had been bashful as a young bride and Kyuhyun was smirking like the groom who had gotten the most beautiful bride in the world. (Author agrees for them to marry. I’ll even recommend the chapel…except gay marriages aren’t yet allowed in Fiji….dangit~)

Their meal arrived and Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun ate in an amicable silence, Kyuhyun again looking at Eunhyuk with soft eyes as Eunhyuk blushed into his chicken dish.

“Why are you so adorable?” asked Kyuhyun with a soft smile on his lips as he reached forward and caressed Eunhyuk’s cheek, letting his hand linger there for a moment longer than necessary. He loved how the pretty pale cheeks shaded with crimson and the way Eunhyuk bit his lower lip, teeth sinking into cushiony plump softness making Kyuhyun unconsciously growl at the sight.

“Hyukkie…I like you.” he whispered, too afraid to let anyone else here his confession yet unable to hold himself back either, “I really like you.” He grabbed onto Eunhyuk hands, lacing the fingers together as he played with the digits. Eunhyuks jumped a little at how forward Kyuhyun was being, liking it, adoring it, craving it….yet afraid of it.

He liked him…he really really did…but the world was a cruel place. Especially South Korea, where tradition was the rule and change was abhorred. Being gay was a crime; a sickness, something not many would accept and they had to accept their fate. They would have to love in shadows, in hiding, disguising their affections with friendship, brotherhood. That was how it was supposed to be.

But it was getting harder and harder to hide.

Mumbling shyly, Eunhyuk pried his hands away from Kyuhyun’s eyes looking around the blustering room, hoping and wishing that no one had spied them. He was in love. He loved Kyuhyun…so so much…and he didn’t want to lose him.

Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun walked slowly towards Eunhyuk’s home, hands clutched together tightly in the shroud of darkness and Eunhyuk couldn’t be happier. He wondered how it would feel to really hold hands, out in the day, in front of everyone to see. He knew that being gay wasn’t the norm but how he wished that someday he could do all that and more….with Kyuhyun by his side.

Eunhyuk’s feet dragged, the nearer they got to his own street, wishing that the time would go slower and that this night wouldn’t end because it had been so perfect…Kyuhyun had been so perfect.

He couldn’t ask for more than this.

He lifted his head when he felt Kyuhyun squeeze his hand though the tangle they had somehow formed of their fingers and tugged him close to the brick wall, darkened a little, shielding the street light and forming a welcomed shadow.

“Eunhyuk…” Kyuhyun’s eyes were beautiful as he gazed down at him and Eunhyuk shivered, warmth flushing his face and body as tingles erupted inside of him. “Eunhyuk…” Eunhyuk heard him whisper again and Eunhyuk felt the heat amplify and he could almost hear the pounding of his rushing blood in his ears.

So loud. Too loud.

Could Kyuhyun hear it too? The drumming of his heartbeat?

Soft big hands brushed against his cheek before cupping them and Eunhyuk leaned into them, closing his eyes for a second before opening them, meeting the soft eyes with his own.

Kyuhyun felt his breath catch when Eunhyuk opened his eyes again…so much warmth…so many feelings swirled in those brown orbs, and it took his breath away. Eunhyuk’s eyes peered into his and then dipped down bashfully as pink cheeks
