Chapter 3
Not Skinny Enough
It was six months later. Six months where Luhan and Xiumin ignored each other, didn't text, didn't Skype, didn't hang with their group of friends whenever the other was there. Xiumin made it clear to Luhan that he didn't need him, didn't need his best friend.
But Luhan still missed Minseok, no matter what profanities the older might have yelled at him that night, Luhan still misses his Minseok in senior year that still had a little spark left in his eyes that usually rekindled whenever he was with Luhan. Luhan still misses the soccer games they've played when they were just stupid freshmen in college, trying to drive away the stress of finals. Luhan misses Minseok, not Xiumin. Because Luhan hates Xiumin. He hates what he's done with his Minseok. He hates Xiumin and the monster he's created.
But what can he do when Xiumin's taken over total control of Minseok's mind, thoughts, actions? He's absolutely powerless compared to Xiumin, and at this rate, it was probably too late to save Minseok. But Luhan has to try, right?

Two more months pass by and Luhan marks the eighth month Xiumin has refused to answer his calls ever since that night.
Normally, their schedules would never collide with one another, meaning they never really saw each other during their individual daily life routines. However, on this cold January night, Luhan was forced to work the night shift because Baekhyun had a "family emergency" he needed to attend to and couldn't work that. (In reality, Baekhyun had a very special date with the one and only Chanyeol.)
No one's crazy enough to want coffee at 2 am in the morning. Luhan thought to himself as he busied himself with his phone, seated on the ground with his back pressed against the counter.
Oh look, BTOB's coming ba--
The sound of the door opening immediately stopped Luhan's train of thought, almost scared at the possibility that a scary might be standing right on the other side of the counter.
"Uh, hello? Baekhyun?" A familiar voice spoke up, leaving Luhan almost too stunned to even respond. Acting fast, before he lost this moment, he slowly peeked his head up, his eyes meeting with none other than Xiumin's.
Luhan couldn't help but feel his heart break into a million tiny pieces at how skinny Minseok has gotten. He looked paler than usual, and his eyes screamed for help, but somehow he never got any. There eere visible bruises scattered around Xiumin's arm, lacing around his veins carefully. Luhan stared at what Minseok is now, and he couldn't help but feel the anger boil deep within his stomach. Luhan couldn't help but hate Xiumin.

Luhan quickly stood up, brushing off his apron as he watched the way Xiumin's eyes practically bulged out of his eye sockets, surprised to see the younger rather than the usual whiny Baekhyun, complaining that the nights are far too scary to be spent alone in a coffee shop.
"B-Baekhyun said he had a date with Chanyeol, so I took the night shift." Luhan muttered, eyes flickering away from Xiumin's.
Xiumin blinked for a moment, confusion settled on his face. "Chanyeol? But he's.."
Xiumin's voice trailed off for a moment, before realization slapped him across the face. "Ugh, this idiot." Xiumin muttered to himself, slapping his palm against his own forehead.
Luhan raised an eyebrow at the older, not really understand what exactly Xiumin was talking about.
"I mean--Chanyeol's been sulking in my apartment this whole day, and he hasn't even gotten off the couch since. The kid's weird." Xiumin quickly stated, nodding his head.
"Then why'd Baekhyun--"
"It's because he wanted to help "mend our friendship back together" or something along the lines of that." Xiumin clarified, cutting off Luhan before he could finish his sentence.
"Oh." Oh.
Xiumin nodded, his hands stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie. "Uh, I think I'll be going now."
Luhan blinked, watching as the older started to turn away, heading out the door before Luhan quickly acted. "Wait!"
Xiumin stopped dead in his tracks, though not turning around to face the younger.
"I-I've missed you." Luhan admitted sheepishly, biting at his bottom lip as he watched how Xiumin's breathing has gotten heavier and the way his steps had gotten slower than usual.
Xiumin stood there for a moment, before turning around to look Luhan in the eye. In that moment, Luhan swore he saw a small spark of Minseok hidden somewhere within the confined jails Xiumin had him locked in, pleading for help. But it all went away too fast in just a blink of an eye.
"I missed you, too." Xiumin muttered, before turning back around, heading out the door.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello guys! A short chapter today, orz I'M SORRY. I was hoping to make this chapter better, but I realized it stil lacks a lot. Next chapter will be more based on Xumin's thouhts and how he's been deailng with everything. I think next chapter I'll probably make Luhan and Xiumin officially make up. Basically Xumin breaks down and he needs Luhan. ITS A POSSIBILITY. I'M WORKING ON THE CHAPTER IDEA AS WE SPEAK! But for now, this is chapter 3!
