Chapter 13: The Past Memories

Fifth years ago
Training Camp, Mokdong-gil dong
“Seonbaenim”
“Aish, Hee Gun-ah, just call me hyung. We’re already in 1 team, right?”
“But.. it’s still strange to call you hyung since I don’t know you that much”
“It’s okay. Started now, we’re going to face missions together, we’ll be facing each other everyday. So with that you can feel closer to me, okay?” Jongkook smiles. That sweet eye smiles
“Okay, if you insist.
H-hyung. Jongkook hyung”
“Oppa?”
“W-what? What, Jihyo? Did you say something just now?” Jongkook replied, he seems lost his mind while remembering his first meeting with Gary back then
“Uhm, you look sad and.. blank”
“Am I?”
“Yup”
Jongkook sees the restaurant, Kwangsoo is ordering some food again and Gary is in the restroom
“Did you secretly pay attention on me? honestly”
“Huh? Yah! It’s not like that! Aish this man” Jihyo blushed
“Your face got red so I must be right. Just tell me honestly, I promise I’ll keep my mouth from your oh-so-boyfriend”
“What? You mean Gary? And I’m not blushing!”
“Who else?”
“Ah, you must be jealous that you don’t have girlfriend to going out for lunch, so you came with that tall man Kwangsoo ssi”
“Ey, who needs to find girlfriend if she’s in front of me now? even I already slept--”
“YAH!!” Jihyo screams suddenly and makes other customers look at her “Mianhe, I’m so sorry”
“Oy, what happens Jihyo ya?” Gary is now sit back to his place
“Nothing happens, this oppa has just step on my leg!” don’t you dare to tell the truth!
“What? I thought that is a cat under the table!”
“Liar!”
“Eyy Jihyo, behave. We’re in public” Gary said
“Nah, listen to your boyfriend, Jihyo” Jongkook smirks, eventhough his heart says the opposite
“She’s not my—“
“Kure!” Jihyo now step on Gary’s leg to keep quite “Boyfriend, let’s get out from here. I don’t want to disturb this couple, kaja!”
“Yah Song Jihyo!!”

Jongkook and Kwangsoo came back to the office after ordering some food again—it’s Kwangsoo ofcourse—and Jongkook had that embarrassing moment caused by Jihyo earlier, that woman! Aish!
“Oy you two” Saeyoon cames from behind, starring at them
“Neh, nuna? You want something to help?” ask Kwangsoo
“Yes Kwangsoo, could you send the documents to this address? And wipe all your face, you mustard-freak”
Kwangsoo wipe his mustard below his lips then smiles like a child who got scolded from his mom,
“Thanks nuna, you’re so kind. C’mon hyung”
“Jongkook will be staying here, you go all alone Kwangsoo ah”
“Eh? Why all of a sudden? Who’ll be accompany me then??”
“Aish you! Just bring that little girin to accompany you” Jongkook said
“You still bring that everywhere, huh?” asked Saeyon in disbelief
“What’s wrong with that, nuna? Michael makes me feel comfortable—hyung stop laughing!”

Later then, Saeyoon ends up dragging Jongkook to her room. She wants to give him a task about Cheon Jong Im at first, but now she’s listening to his story instead
“Hyung, what’s today mission?”
“Okay, kids, here’s the mission today. We go to Gwangju province, gather up in a building for these people from Yokohama. The deal is, whether one of us betray them while they buy our weapon, they’re going to kill the hostage. So Gary, you do this with Dong Hoon, save the hostage and interrogate them”
“Err, hyung I have a question. Why do we save the hostage? Also, why do we have a business with those people? Yokohama known for it betray. I don’t like them” said Dong Hoon
“They are citizen. They don’t do something wrong. Should we still let them be killed? for Yokohama, only the Yakuza known for it betray. They’re rich, we need the money. The rest aren’t our business at all. I trust you because you’re the betrayer among us”
“It only involves in gambling! I won’t betray you, seriously. I cross with all of my heart!”
“You talk too much, but what can I do? I already fall with this pororo” Jongkook mess up with Dong Hoon’s hair then smiles, “So everyone, got it now?”
“Got it, hyung” everyone in the room answered him without hesitation
“Good. now everyone, prepares everything. We’re leaving in an hour”

“You look uneasy today. Tell me, hyung”
“I can’t reach my mom. I hate this”
“Maybe she’s sleeping? You said that she caught a fever, right?”
“Yeah, it’s almost two days and I haven’t see her yet”
Jongkook looks down, he feel lost. He misses his mom, he could leave the camp at that time but he can't. He had a contract with the Group back then. But now, he just feel sorry. He just feel numb. Why do I take that mission?
“After this mission, go and see your mom. Buy her something good to eat, and stay with her, hyung”
“Thanks. I hope I can do that, Gary ah”
Jongkook smiles, but it’s not the usual. He takes a sip of water, rehydrate his throat. He thought remembering the past wouldn’t this hurt. He still feel the irony, the pain that leave him hanging until now
“So back then, you’re a team with Gary and that little brat Ha Dong Hoon? Well, I’m surprised to hear that”
“I’m more surprised to hear that both of them studies at your faculty, noona”
“The world aren’t big as you think, kid”
“Should I continue?”

Aish that muscle man! Why all of a sudden mention about that incident?! I’m dead once Gary knew about that!
“Jihyo”
Oh no, I got a feeling he wants to ask about it
“Neh oppa?”
“I want to ask something”
What will I do!
“Do you..really wants to holding hands like this..?”

Jihyo look down to her hands and Gary’s, since when did I hold his hands? Ah, must be from the restaurant
“Ow, haha sorry oppa. I’m a little bit shiver so I thought with holding your hands..I will get warm”
“Are you okay? The wheater seems nice so why are you shivering? Are you sick?”
“What? No no, I’m all okay! I.. I got nervous, I don’t know”
“Because of someone?”
“Yes! Err I don’t know who, but for sure it’s scares me”
“Maybe.. that muscle? Uhm, I mean Jongkook ssi”
“Aish! That cute but scary man! He’s just absurd! he always make fun of me! ugh, but I don’t think it’s him, someone else.. I don’t know”
“Uhm, okay, sorry, I didn’t mean to add your anger towards him but it’s seems like you both close enough?” just tell me, I’ll try to accept it
“We’re not close, we only met at the last event on college. Remember that incident? I feel wronged for not checking the security guard. Haish”
“But that event already a month ago.. that’s what I think, errm”
“Are you jealous? Eey that face!”
“What? No! I’m not jealous at all!” I just feel sorry to him in the past, if I could turn back time..

“Mr. Suzuki, it’s been a while. Ohayou gozaimasu”
“Ohayou Mr. Kim”
In no time, they’re already start the bid. Jongkook pick the price carefully while Gary, Dong Hoon and the rest of the team start their mission; safe the hostage.
Gary and Dong Hoon start in the highest places, 7th floor. Searching carefully in every room but got nothing. They go to the 6th, 5th and so does the 4th. Still, nothing.
Dong Hoon start to smell something’s fishy,
“I think they’re not keeping the hostage here. I sense something is not right”
They go straight to the top—Dong Hoon was right, the bodyguard and the hostage are in one place. But he can’t see the hostage because the bodyguard is blocking his vision
“It’s woman, Dong Hoon ah. I can hear the voice. We should tell Jongkook hyung soon”
“Don’t you feel that the voice is similar to someone we know.. wow I got a goosebump! It’s right, isn’t it?”
“I’m not sure enough.. I hope it’s someone else”
‘Poor you Oh Min Rae, you can’t see your beloved son right now’
“Hyung! Her name is Oh Min Rae” Gary who heard the bodyguard talk with the hostage and moreover tell her name, informs Jongkook who waits down there
Jongkook who listened from the 3rd floor got a goosebump. It can’t be..
It can’t be!!
