Ronica got up early in the morning, when sunlight hit her eyes. She turned around to see her husband, Kris sleeping

peacefully beside her. He was late once again. 

She got up, freshened up and started preparing breakfast for her family of 4. Her son, Dingxiang, had unexpectedly woken

up earlier than other days, whereas, Meifin, was still asleep. 

"Good Morning Dingxiang. Did you have a good night's sleep?" Her five year old son cutely nodded his head. 

"Go and brush your teeth, omma is making breakfast." 

She knew her family would soon be up, but unlike other days, today she was angry. Soon his son was back and by that

time her breakfast was ready. She kept it on the table. 

"Ronica, what are you doing?" Kris wrapped his arms around his beloved wife.

"Breakfast is on the table. Eat it." She said, wriggling out of his arms and shoving him away. She behaved extremely cold.

"What's wrong? What did I do?"

"You should be knowing by now." She answered back, without turning back.

"Stop acting cold and just tell me what did I do."

"Yesterday was Dingxiang's birthday. You had promised the kids that you would take them to Lotte Theme Park. Forget

taking them to the park, you didn't even come home early."

"I had work in office. Boss wouldn't leave me. There were new clients I had to attend to, how could I come home early?"

"Kris, you come late everyday. Have I ever told you anything? But one day, just one day, you couldn't come early Kris?"

" I couldn't come. If it was possible, don't you think I would have come early? And it's not that I forgot his birthday, I

brought him the cake, gave him the gift...."

"Is that how you are responsible as a father Kris? Don't you think he wanted you to be here in person? Anyways he is

closer to you...your darling son he is....isn't it? "

"So what do you wanna say? ShallI quit my job and stay at home? Fine, I will do so. That's what you mean right?

Remember, the major portion of the expenses are handled by me. And it's not that I don't know what my responsibilities

are."

"I too earn for the family Kris. It's not only your house. When you didn't get your job, the house, all the furniture, they

were all bought with my money. Just because you earn more, doesn't mean you will belittle me like that.."

Somehow Ronica took it as an insult, the fact that Kris was claiming his rights over the house that was always their. By

now she had started crying.

"I can't take this anymore. Enough of your tantrums. For the past few days I have been trying my best to impress you and

keep you happy. But the only thing you do is fight. I am done. I am going out and dare you disturb me."

Kris took the car keys and left. 

Ronica was left there crying. What Kris said just now was partially true and she herself did not know the cause of her just

strange behavior. All they did in the past few days was to fight.

Meifin had woken up now, thanks to all the ruckus created. The siblings ran to their mom and hugged her tight, Dingxiang

wiping the tears.

"Omma, are you ok?" He asked.

"I am fine son." She answered. Turning around she sat down to eat. She had just taken a bite of her French toast, when

she felt went sour. The next moment she ran to the washroom, throwing up all that was in her tummy. Hardly

anything came out, but she felt miserable. She puked once again. Somehow getting up, Ronica dragged herself to the

dining table and poured herself a glass of orange juice. Giving the kids their share of French toast, she took the rest and

put it in the fridge. Neither Kris nor Ronica had eaten a piece of it.

She felt extremely weak and fatigued. Taking the glass she went to her bedroom. Finishing off the juice she lied down and

went to sleep.

When she woke up, it was already 1 o'clock. Kris had not yet returned and she was feeling worse. She called Dingxiang.

"Call dad up and tell him that mom is sick." He nodded his head and ran away. He did as he was told. But Kris' cell was

switched off. 

"Omma, appa's cell is switched off. "

"Bring it here." She took her cellphone from the kid and texted him.

"I am feeling very sick. Come home ASAP." She then remembered she had to make lunch for them. Somehow getting up,

she went to the kitchen. She made some rice quickly. Thankfully she had made extra stuff the previous day, she gave it to

her children. After making sure they finished their meal, she went back to sleep, without eating anything.

She called him 6 times more and texted him once again. Waiting for him she went off to sleep.

Kris was near the highway, driving his Porsche at full speed. It relieved him of all the stress he had in his office and home

combined. The air felt good. To keep out all sorts of disturbances, he switched off his cell phone, before leaving for the

drive. He looked at the digital watch inside his car.

"Ohh ...it's 2 already." Stopping his car by the side, he took out his cell and switched it on. There were 7 miss calls

and two texts from Ronica.

" I am feeling very sick. Come home ASAP."

"Kris, I am waiting for you. Come home fast. I am very sick."

He did not wait even for a second and rushed home as fast as he could.

Ronica's eyes flinched open. She felt sick again. And the fact that she had not eaten anything, made it worse.

She got up and rushed to the washroom. Nothing but saliva came out. But still she was feeling very weak.

"Ronica...are you ok?" Kris came running inside the bedroom. She stood up somehow, taking the support of the slab and

opened the door of the washroom.

"Kris..." she took his name weakly. And fainted right after that.
