A/N: Hi, so I finally appeared after disappearing for ages. This is a short drabble, just 600+ words. I originally wrote it in chinese so it might feel weird thanks to my translation. OTL I hope it's fine and everything, feedbacks are welcomed~ Enjoy~?

             “Time to go.” Yongguk announced and Daehyun just followed without saying a word. Why didn't he say anything? Well, that’s because they fought just a few days ago, or technically speaking, they broke up.

             Strictly speaking, Daehyun’s only been here for 3 months. Daehyun worked hard and finally passed the exam to come over here as a soul reaper. He first came over happily and filled with excitement. However, when he saw Yongguk, his head started hurting like there’s someone inside his head slicing his brain apart. Bits and bits of blurry clips played in Daehyun’s mind. “Are you okay?” That was the first sentence that Yongguk said to Daehyun.

             Thankfully, the symptoms didn't last for too long and Daehyun straightened himself before greeting his senior, which is Yongguk. After that, Yongguk had been very nice to him and since this feeling felt very familiar, Daehyun found himself yearning and falling for Yongguk.

             Before taking the exam, everyone must drink a solution that lets them forget about their past as a human. Did I not mention that only those that died can become soul reapers? Daehyun wasn’t an exception, he drank the solution and only remembered the extreme need to pass this exam and become a soul reaper. That’s why, when he first felt this familiarity, it’s very important to him.

             Forgetting everything, struggling through the exam alone. Remembering nothing, not even his loved ones, he doesn’t know how he stayed strong and pass the whole ordeal. That’s why, when he finally met someone that can let him feel the familiar safeness, he didn’t care about the difference in their ranks. So what if Yongguk is his senior? He is still his partner now. He will always be his.

             That was how he thought previously. In the end, it seems like he is the foolish one. Suddenly, Yongguk came to him and just said. “Let’s end this.” Daehyun couldn’t understand why Yongguk wants to end this when everything had been fine. “You are great-” Daehyun laughed softly, cutting off what Yongguk was about to say. “Don’t say that I am great. If I am, why don't you want me?”

             As suddenly as they got together, they broke up. Without any signs or warning, no excessive pursuing and no excessive fights, nothing. It started simply and ended simply. Just like that.

             Very quickly, they reached the house where the soul is and Daehyun bent forward. “Come out, it’s time to go.” Daehyun then stood up and waited for the soul to come out. The soul couldn’t even react and realise that he is dead. He just stared at the scene and Yongguk started chanting the spell. “Wait, my wife and baby is in danger.” The soul slapped Yongguk’s hand away and wanted to rush over to his wife that is about to give birth.

             Meanwhile, after seeing all these, Daehyun’s head started pounding and the different clips flashed in his mind again, foggy and blurry clips that Daehyun couldn't decipher. However, he seemed to be able to understand this soul’s feelings. “Please, just give me 2 more hours.” A familiar voice rung in Daehyun’s ears and his heart shook. “Sunbae, give him 2 more hours to see that his child and wife are fine?”

             When Yongguk saw Daehyun’s pale face, he knew that Daehyun was hurting again. “You can’t go against fate, it’s his destiny to die now.” Yongguk replied and Daehyun understood that talking to him wouldn’t make a difference. In an instant, Daehyun appeared in front of the soul and made a sign on the soul’s chest. “2 hours, don't waste it.”

             Yongguk wouldn’t let Daehyun finish something so reckless. He knows the results of going against destiny, he tried, and it never ends well. Not only that, the punishment that Daehyun needs to suffer is too much for him. “Sunbae?” Daehyun called when he realised that a rope is surrounding him.

             When the rope tightened and got into contact with his body, he felt an indescribable pain and his energy being away. “Ah!” Daehyun let out a scream and Yongguk just caught the unconscious Daehyun easily.

             “Fate isn’t something the both of us can control.”
