“I can’t believe this at all! Are you really serious??”

 

Manager Kim paced around the room with a frustrated expression in her face. Appa and Umma were seated across us.

 

Umma placed her tea down on the table and tried to calm Manager Kim. Appa looked frustrated too.

 

Can I blame them? I’m frustrated myself too. So does Minki.

 

“Minki-yah, What did I told you from the very start? I told you to avoid the spotlight as best as you can right?”, Manager Kim scolded Minki.

 

I turned my gaze at Minki. He doesn’t show any emotions. Not even frustration or anger. I felt sorry for him though. He didn’t even volunteered or grabbed attention. He was just silently reading a book when someone nominated him.

 

“Manager Kim…”, I spoke up and all their gazes landed on me.

 

I cleared my throat, “… I-it isn’t Minki’s fault… Someone just nominated him and he doesn’t even have a clue he got nominated.”

 

After what I said, Manager Kim started to clam down. I looked at Minki and he just stared back at me.

 

“Is that so? Minki is that true?”, Manager Kim asked.

 

Minki slowly nodded, “Ne…”

 

Manager Kim smiled at me, “Thank you, Yonghoon-shii for explaining and Minki-ah, come with me. I’ll need to talk with you.”

 

Minki stood up and followed Manager Kim upstairs. Not even looking back.

 

“Is it really true, Yonghoon-ah?”, Appa asked.

 

I nodded. Appa nodded as well.

 

I finally stood up, “Appa, Umma, mianhae but I need to go to work. I’ll just tell Baekho Oppa Minki can’t go to work today.”

 

Umma smiled, “Arasso. Stay safe okay?”

 

I smiled, “Arasso. Bye Appa~!”

 

“Take care.”, Appa said.

 

(At the Café)

 

“Is that so? Arasso.”

 

After explaining on why Minki can’t work today, Baekho oppa nodded in understanding and then I started my shift.

 

“Kamsahamnida! Enjoy your coffee!”

 

I smiled as I handed the customer her coffee. I yawned. Aigoo~ I have to pull an all-nighter today. I have to help Minki with the Pageant.

 

Speaking of Minki… how is he doing now? Is Manager Kim scolding him again? Or is he doing fine now? Aish, Stop thinking about him Yonghoon!! He didn’t even look back at you or something…

 

“Yah Yonghoon-ah.”

 

The nudge on my shoulder broke my train of thoughts and Minhyun oppa’s face suddenly popped up in front of me.

 

“Gwaenchana? You’re spacing out. I’ve been calling you for ages and you’re not responding…”, Minhyun oppa said. Concern obvious in his eyes.

 

I smiled,” I’m okay I’m just… thinking.”

 

Minhyun oppa rested his arm on the counter, “Care to share?”

 

I bit my lip. I can’t tell Minhyun oppa about Minki. It’s top secret. What should I do?!

 

“Um… Well…”

 

“Yeah, Care to share what’s between you and Ren-shii?”

 

I turned around and saw JR smirking while leaning on the counter beside Minhyun oppa. I gulped.

 

I bit my lower lip again. What should I do??! JR knows me so well when I lie and… ARGH!!!!

 

“Well… R-Ren is my cousin… Girl cousin. A-and she’s staying at my house with my Aunt…”

 

Minhyun oppa nodded and JR raised his eyebrows. Argh, please don’t suspect anything. Please don’t suspect anything.

 

“…And I just got to know recently that Ren is actually my cousin so when she was introduced by Mr. Park at school I didn’t know that she’s actually my cousin.”

 

Minhyun oppa nodded, “Is that so?”, Minhyun oppa turned to JR, “So that’s why you kept on pestering me-“

 

JR suddenly covered Minhyun oppa’s mouth with both of his hands. Eh? What’s wrong with these two?

 

JR giggled,” Hehe… what’s he’s trying to say is… H-he understands now.”

 

It’s my turn to raise my eyebrows at JR. Yeah right, Jr. Good luck on trying to hide something from me.

 

Minhyun oppa finally escaped JR’s grasped. He gave JR a dirty look.

 

“Well… I’ll get back to the kitchen and Yonghoon.”

 

“Hmm?”, I turned my gaze at Minhyun oppa who is smirking at me.

 

“JR keeps on pestering me the whole day. Ranting about how you hide things from him and stuff.”, Minhyun oppa dramatically rolled his eyes.

 

I looked at JR who looks like he’s about to strangle Minhyun oppa.

 

Minhyun oppa laughed, stuck his tongue out at JR and then went to the Main Kitchen.

 

Then the atmosphere turned awkward.

 

My gaze fell on JR, only to find he was staring at me also.

 

“Y-yah…”, I mumbled.

 

“Mwo…?”

 

Aish, so awkward! >.<

 

“M-mianhae…”, I looked down and played with the end of my apron.

 

“F-for not telling you about Ren earlier…”

 

I finally looked up to meet eyes with him and saw him smiling at me.

 

At that moment, I swear it’s like stars suddenly appeared in front of me. Aish, I hate you for making me feel this way, Kim Jonghyun.

 

“Y-yah… stop smiling!”, I stuttered while pointing accusingly at him.

 

He burst out laughing but nonetheless, He kept on smiling.

 

“Waeyo?”, He leaned closer. I gulped.

 

Without thinking, I suddenly kicked his knee.

 

“Oww!! What was that for?!”, JR complained while rubbing his knee.

 

“T-that was for teasing me, Pabo!”, I stuck my tongue out at him.

 

He suddenly stood up and looked at me with a serious expression on his face. I gulped.

 

Uh-oh.

 

He then suddenly carried me on his shoulders. Unexpectedly.

 

“Y-yah!! Put me down!!”, I shouted as I trashed around.

 

“No way! Not until you say you’re sorry.”, JR mehrong.

 

“Aish, Mianhae! Now put me down!!”, I complained as I continuously hit his back which doesn’t seem to have any effect at all because JR keeps on laughing.

“Aniyo. Say ‘JR is so Handsome’ first.”

 

“MWO?! Yah!! Put me down this instance or else I’ll tell Aron Oppa you’re bullying me again!!”

 

“Go right ahead. See if you can go to Aron hyung.”, JR sarcastically said.

 

I glared at him. Aish, this Jerk.

 

“JR is so Handsome I’m gonna puke!!”, I shouted so loud that a few customers looked our way.

 

“Happy?!”

 

JR nodded with a grin, “Happy.”

 

“Now put me down!!”, I commanded.

 

He then slowly put me down while laughing in contentment. I continued to glare at him.

 

He then ruffled my hair and left.

 

After he left, I realized my heart is beating so fast it might explode. I placed my hand into my chest.

 

Aish, Kim Jonghyun. I hate you. I hate you so much but who am I kidding?

 

I obviously don’t.
