7:15 Where is she?

7:30 Did she get hit by a truck or something? I was about to dial her number when I heard a dying walrus behind me. Great she's here.

"You do realize you're late." Nanhee just stuck her tongue out to me and ordered some food and soju. I can't believe this woman is already 30, she still acts like a kid!

"You'd still have waited. Anyway, I got stuck in traffic." the waitress placed the soju down first and two glasses while saying the food will be out in a minute. Nanhee immediately grabbed her glass and filled it up, completely ignoring me. Nobody ignores Kim Himchan like this.

"Ya! It's too early to drink pabo! You haven't even eating anything yet."

I quickly reached out for her glass to take it off her. She seemed annoyed by this but let me take it nonetheless. I downed the shot, the alcohol leaving a bitter taste in my mouth before placing the glass down.

"Himchan-ah~"

Why is she staring at me like that? She looks like a dying pig with all that moping around.

"Ya! What happened to you? Aren't you supposed to be happy and ? It's your birthday hag!" Nanhee just stared at me blankly before flicking her head back, making another set of dying noises. Now this is interesting. What's gotten into her?

"Nanhee"

Snort.

"Ya Choi Nanhee!"

I reached out to flick her forehead out of irritation. She's ignored me twice now! Wasn't she the one who called me to meet up and now she's doing this to me? The nerve of this woman! She cried out in pain before lunging at me, intent on giving me equal pain. Being the bigger and more stronger of us two, I simply grabbed her head with one hand and let her flail like a fish out of water.

"Pabo Chan-ah! That hurts!"

I could only scoff at her retaliation. "Stop doing flailing around you're causing a scene." Nanhee just glared at me before returning to her seat defeated. Aish this woman!

"Channie-ah~"  Ah the food is here!

"Eat up first! You're gonna need the energy later." She just glared at me some more before digging in. At least her appetite isn't affected by her mood, she still eats like a man.

"So? What happened to you?"

After eating we started drinking to loosen up. Well, it was more on me sipping quietly while she was taking it in fast. At first I thought she didn't hear me or was choosing to ignore me again when she placed her glass down and started fiddling with it. She only fiddles when she's really upset.

Seconds passed us by until she finally looked up and I swear, she looked like she wanted to cry. Not good.

"I got fired."

What?

"On my birthday."

Ouch. I poured both of us a shot before raising mine to her level, urging her to make a toast. " to be you." She just glared at me before laughing it off and raising her own glass to mine.

"I know right. That isn't even the half of it."

"I was supposed to meet up with my boyfriend but it got cancelled. He had something important to attend to."

As I downed my shot I could only raise an eyebrow at this. She took hers fast before pouring herself another shot.

"Ya, take it easy. I don't want to carry you later when you get faced drunk ok?"

She just snorted at me before downing the second shot. Aish this woman!

"Everything seems to be going against me nowadays. Is this the result of hitting 30 Himchan? Why??"

No, that's just you Nanhee. I wanted to tell her that but maybe not now since that'll only worsen her mood.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Does auntie know about this already?"

She just shook her head no at my question before cupping her face with both hands, looking straight at me with the most pathetic expression I have ever seen.

"She'd kill me if she found out. Her only daughter, 30, unmarried and now jobless. She'd have a ball on this one I'm sure."

I could just imagine auntie's face when she hears the news. Not a pretty sight believe me.

"D'you think you can hide it from her? Until you get a new job."

"I took my stuff to Hyoyeons' and left it there. I'll just have to find a way I guess." I could only nod my head before realizing something. "Ya Choi Nanhee! Does Auntie still not know about your boyfriend?" wait a second, even I haven't met or know anything about him.

She just gave me this incredulous look before shrugging her shoulders. "You know how mom is." was all she said. I wanted to ask her more about it but opted to leave it at that. Her love life isn't much my concern anyway.

We kept on drinking and talking for hours I think, I can't remember. I guess I was just trying to help Nanhee out in my own way. If I left her alone to mull over her thoughts who knows what she might do.

I looked at my watch and saw that it was already around past 11. We left the food stand an hour ago to walk off the alcohol in us. Honestly, we looked stupid as . Both me and Nanhee kept on singing Dancing in the Rain as loud and embarrassing as we could, completely ignoring everyone around us.

Nanhee was skipping around without a care in the world as we walked around the city. The air was chilly but not enough to rake our bones. Plus we were already drunk so we couldn't care less.

I checked my watch again. 11:55

"Nanhee-ah~" the hag was too busy twirling around to even hear me.

"Choi Nanhee!"

Nanhee stops spinning around before facing me. Why is she looking at me like that?

"Himchan-ah~"

"Do you remember the date we set 10 years ago?"
