Confession

After the encounter in the classroom with Donghae, Taeyeon had been avoiding him completely. Wherever he was, she would not be there. When Donghae was eating at the school cafeteria, she will escape to the rooftop or the school garden, where there was no Donghae. When Donghae was at the ice cream parlor to meet her, she will escape to the back to avoid him. When Donghae can’t take it anymore and went to her house, she will not open the door and just hid under the bed sheets. Donghae’s texts were completely ignored, not to mention his calls. Donghae is beyond frustrated. To ignore him, Taeyeon even stopped meeting with Sunny.

“She won’t pick up...” Sunny looked at Donghae apologizing.

“It’s not your fault.” Sungmin said, comforting her.

“What did you do to her that day making her completely ignore you?” Siwon, who were sitting beside Donghae asked.

Donghae just kept silence. He was beyond frustrated. What he did was just confirming Taeyeon’s feeling for him, why did she have to avoid him now? Why can’t she just accept him and then there will be all rainbows and unicorn for them? The more he thought about it, the more he confused he is. Suddenly, something just popped up in his head. He is going to get to Taeyeon this time.

He turned to Sunny and told her about his plan.

Taeyeon was sitting on her table, trying to concentrate on the homework, but failed. Every time when she looked at the book, her mind will wander by itself to a certain person. She let out a sigh, walked to her bed and laid down looking at the ceiling. She have been thinking about why she have to avoid Donghae, but she didn’t find the answer. All she know is that she just don’t want to meet him. At the same time, she just missed him so much. She wondered how he have been doing, is he still surrounded by girls, and the most important, is he thinking about her?

Taeyeon heaved another sigh and turned to lay on her belly. She unlocked her phone and looked at all those messages she received from Donghae, begging her to take her phone, to talk with him, but she ignored them all. What odd is that she didn’t received anything yet today. Every day she will receive about ten messages, but today there were no one. She started to worry. “Is he starting to forget about me?” She thought.

As she was thinking, someone was knocking on the front door. Tiffany was out to buy groceries so Taeyeon had to open it. Or else, she preferred to stay in her bed for the whole day.

“Coming.” She screamed to the person at the front door to stop her knocking, but the knocking never stops.

“Who…”

“Taeyeon!” Sunny screamed as soon Taeyeon opened the door.

“Sunny! What are you doing here?” Taeyeon asked.

“Taeyeon! You have to come with me! Donghae… he is in the hospital!” Sunny said and dragged Taeyeon out of her house.

“What!? What happened? Why is he in the hospital!?” Taeyeon asked a bunch of questions. She was really worried.

“He just want to see you now. Come with me!”

Taeyeon couldn’t think of anything else. All she was thinking was “please don’t let anything happen to Donghae.” She was praying to god.

The drive to the hospital was short as Taeyeon drove through many red lights. Hopefully, there were not many cars on the road. As soon as they parked the car, Taeyeon ran inside with Sunny. As Sunny couldn’t catch up with Taeyeon, she told her the room number and paused at the entrance of the hospital to take a breath. Taeyeon couldn’t think of Sunny right now as her mind was full of Donghae.

“Please, God, don’t let anything happen to him. I’ll do anything for him to survive.” She prayed silently as she rushed to the room.

As she entered, Sungmin and Siwon was standing with their back facing the door, looking down on the bed. Taeyeon slowly entered. She knows the person they are looking at, yet she doesn’t was to believe it. The steps seem too heavy. Sungmin and Siwon turned around to look at the intruder. Their face was filled with sadness. Taeyeon couldn’t care about them right now. Her heart fell at each step she have taken. Slowly, Siwon and Sungmin walked aside, revealing the person laying on the bed.

Taeyeon couldn’t believe it. Her heart stopped beating as she saw the face the person laying on the bed. Donghae’s face was covered with a mask to help him breathing. His eyes remained closed as Taeyeon walked closer. As soon as she was right beside the bed, the tear in her eye rolled down her face.

“Wake up.” Taeyeon called.

“Wake up.” Her sound get higher as it shivered. She repeated and repeated as more tears come out of her eyes. She shook Donghae’s left hand laying on the bed while she called for him.

“Please wake up! Didn’t you save that you’ll wait for me forever until I says yes? Now I’m here. I’ll so anything you want! Just wake up!” She buried her face on the bed and cried loudly.

Suddenly, Donghae’s eyes shot open and a big smile hang on his face as his took off his mask. He reached out with his right hand and caressed Taeyeon’s hair. “Don’t cry. I’ll wake up.”

Taeyeon stopped crying and looked up. The fresh tears was still hanging on her face as she looked confusingly on Donghae.

Sungmin and Siwon couldn’t hide their smile anymore. They exchanged a look with Donghae and went out of the room together to give some personal space to Donghae and Taeyeon.

Taeyeon couldn’t utter a word even after Sungmin and Siwon went out. She just stared at Donghae’s smiling face.

“Be my girlfriend.” Donghae said while looking into her eyes.

Taeyeon woke up from her state. “What…?” She was so confused. She thought Donghae was in a life and death situation, but now he was just flashing his smile at her.

“Be my girlfriend.” Donghae repeated. “Didn’t you say you’d do anything I say if I wake up?” He said while knocking her head. “Be my girlfriend.”

Taeyeon cutely rubbed her head as she slowly understood the situation. “You tricked me!?” She asked angrily and pointed a finger at him.

“Of course I did! If not how can I meet you? How can I talk to you? How can I hear your true feelings? And how can I ask you to be girlfriend!?” he shot back.

Taeyeon just angrily crossed her arms and turned her back to Donghae. She bit her lips hard to not smile.

Donghae slowly embraced her from her back and rested his head on her shoulder. “I missed you.” He whispered in her ears.

Taeyeon shyly bowed her head as the blood rushed to her face. “I missed you too…” She whispered back in a tiny voice.

“Be my girlfriend?” Donghae asked carefully. Taeyeon slowly nodded as her face got redder.

The smile on Donghae’s face got even bigger as he slowly turned Taeyeon around to look at her face. He put his finger gently on her chin to lift her head up as he slowly neared her. “I love you.” Donghae said right before their lips touched.
