成语 [chéngyǔ] are a type of traditional Chinese idiomatic expressions, most of which consist of four characters.

Chengyu were widely used in Classical Chinese and are still common in vernacular Chinese writing and in the spoken language today.

Should one desire to sing, One would amaze the world with his first song.

比喻平时没有突出的表现，一下子做出惊人的成绩。

Meaning: Someone who doesn't show excellent performance but yet produced shocking results.

Used on someone quiet and low profile, meaning that they are talented.
