Sound PRO with PROverbs!

Chinese proverbs (諺語yànyŭ) are famous sayings taken from literature, history, and famous people like philosophers.

There are hundreds of Chinese proverbs addressing all aspects of life from education and work to personal goals and relationships.

纸包不住火 [zhǐ bāo bù zháo huǒ]

The truth will be revealed despite covering it.

Lit: Paper cannot wrap up a fire. You cannot cover up a scandal easily.

比喻事实难以隐瞒。多指坏事。

Meaning: The truth is still the truth, what had happened had already happened, no matter how hard you try to cover, the truth would still be revealed.

This is used usually for bad things.
