Learn Mandarin With Me! (Proverbs & Idioms)

So what's Idioms?

成语 [chéngyǔ] are a type of traditional Chinese idiomatic expressions, most of which consist of four characters.

Chengyu were widely used in Classical Chinese and are still common in vernacular Chinese writing and in the spoken language today.

We shall learn more about it!(:

一言难尽 [yī yán nán jìn]

A sentence isn't enough to explain everything

Hard to explain in a few words ; complicated and not easy to express it thoroughly

Application: When it's a 'long story' that you are telling someone, this would be applicable to describe that it would take time to explain.
