So what's Idioms? 

成语 [chéngyǔ] are a type of traditional Chinese idiomatic expressions, most of which consist of four characters.

Chengyu were widely used in Classical Chinese and are still common in vernacular Chinese writing and in the spoken language today.

一日千里  [Yī rì qiān lǐ]

Advance with giant strides.

 

释义: 原形容好马跑得快,现在形容人或事业进步很快,发展迅速

 

Meaning: Originally means that the horse runs fast, as it advances through time, people now use it to describe someone whose career improves a lot and advances really rapidly.
