Chapter 13
I lied... I love you
Karam and Changmin were at the airport to pick up their Daddy Jae. Jaejoong was already waiting at the arrival hall and Changmin ran over to him like a little kid.
"Hey boys," Jaejoong said cheerfully and pulled Changmin into a hug. "Missed you so much," he said tightening the hug.
Karam walked slowly behind him and smiled looking at his brother and Daddy Jae. After Changmin released his daddy, Jaejoong gave Karam a tight hug too. "So, how have you two been doing without appa and daddy around?" he asked them, eyeing Karam, the elder.
Changmin looked down as Karam glanced at him. "Good, Daddy Jae, I told you not to worry. Look, you must've been thinking too much about us, you've gained a lot of wrinkles!"
Jaejoong reached out and punched him lightly on the shoulder as he grinned. "You're horrible," said Jaejoong, pouting. "Leaving you two did have me all worried." Jaejoong sighed. He added, "Daddy really hopes appa's project in Singapore will complete soon and we will live like a real family again. Or else daddy will get old before his time." He pouted again.
"Ahh... no, Daddy Jae! Sorry. You'll always stay beautiful," Karam said and hugged his Daddy Jae around the waist.
"Yes Daddy, you will always stay beautiful," Changmin said causing Jaejoong to giggle while Karam nodded, chuckling. They talked a bit more, catching Jaejoong up on all that had happened. Excluding what had happened between the brothers.
"I'm sorry that appa couldn't come back with daddy today. Appa has to fly to Sydney tomorrow morning to meet the new vendor."
"It's okay. We understand," Karam replied, smiling.
"By the way, happy birthday, Minnie baby." Jaejoong briefly hugged Changmin and kissed his cheeks.
"Daddy, my birthday is tomorrow."
"Daddy wants to be the first to greet you."
"Baby, happy birthday," Karam said cheerfully and hugged his brother briefly. 'At least hyung called me baby again.. Probably to not let daddy notice,' Changmin thought.
Still, Jaejoong noticed something was missing. Karam did not kiss Changmin on the cheek as usual. Normally, Karam would be generous with his kisses to his brother. Kissing on the cheeks was like nothing for them. But he chose not to further the matter as he was hungry. Maybe next time he would ask.
"Let's go for dinner, then," Jaejoong said. "Daddy has been away for too long and is suddenly craving for good local food. Let's go to our favourite restaurant that serves the best Korean food in town." He winked at the boys and walked off ahead, leaving the two boys pushing the trolley together.
"So Changminnie," Jaejoong started, as they sat around the dinner table. "Daddy was wondering, since daddy is here now, how about we throw you a birthday party tomorrow night. Daddy and hyung will arrange everything for you. You just need to invite your friends."
“Let’s do a garden party! Barbeque?" Karam suggested suddenly, getting excited.
“Do we have enough time to prepare everything for tomorrow?”
“Don’t worry about it. Daddy will just call the party planner and they will arrange everything for us.”
"Hyung, you have to invite your special friend also, so daddy can get to know him, too," Changmin told him.
"Yes baby, of course," Karam said, chuckling lightly and scratching the back of his head.
"Oh, that would be great," Changmin said, noticing the worry and nervousness in Karam's voice.
'Karam has a special friend? Him?' Jaejoong felt nervous suddenly but smiled at Karam. “Is there anyone special daddy gets to see tomorrow?”
Karam just laughed nervously, playing with his food. Changmin chuckled slightly.
Jaejoong noticed the awkwardness between the brothers. It had never been like this before. The two boys were always at ease with each other. 'Have they been fighting while I've been gone?'

"Relax, Seungho, there's nothing to be worried about." Karam was trying to cool him down because he'd seemingly panicked right after Karam told him to come to his house for Changmin’s birthday party. "It's only my Daddy Jae. My appa is not back yet."
"I know," he said, stopping in front of the bathroom door. "I just…I'm just nervous to meet your parent for the first time."
“I know, I know," Karam replied. “Hey, don’t worry. It can't be that bad," Maram reasoned smiling. He rubbed his arm, trying to calm him.
"Don't you think it's too soon for me to meet your parent?" asked Seungho.
"Mmm... I think it's okay. Well, I'm ready to introduce you to my parent. Are you ready?"
Seungho frowned at Karam, and looked like he wanted to say something. Karam waited for his answer. Seungho swallowed. His eyes were too intense. Something flickered them. It made Karam's insides tingle.
Seungho cocked his head to the side in thought. Then he smiled. "Ummm…what present should I get for your brother?”
Karam smiled brightly. "Let’s go buy one after school. I haven’t bought anything yet, either." He giggled.
Seungho nodded. Karam walked over to him and slid his arms around his waist. Then he gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "It'll be ok," Karam tried to reassure him. Then, shaking his head he added, "You know, I'm the one who should be nervous!"
Seungho laughed at him.
Karam looked at Seungho and smiled. "My Daddy Jae is going to love you."
Seungho gave him a peck on his cheek. "I know," he replied mischievously.
