Chapter 15
A Love, EverlastingOnce more, I was at the airport. My heart was beating fast. The two months that Taeyeon was gone seemed to drag on
forever. It seemed as if she had been gone for years. After a few moments, Taeyeon finally emerged from her terminal looking weary.
“Taeyeon!” I called out her name. She turned towards me, a huge smile emerging on her face before running towards me and jumping
into my arms. I spun her around lightly before setting her down and kissing her gently on the lips. “Did you have a good trip?” I asked.
Taeyeon buried her face in my chest, taking a deep breath. “It was long. I am just so happy to be back. I am tired.” I gave her a gentle
squeeze before saying “Let’s get you back home so you can have a nap.” Swiftly, I picked up Taeyeon’s baggage and together we
made our way out of the airport through the throngs of people and onward to home.
Finally, Taeyeon and I pulled into the driveway, the car ride home nearly silent as Taeyeon kept drifting to sleep. Quietly, I
opened my door and moved around the car, opening Taeyeon’s door as well. Carefully, I maneuvered my arms around her and gently
picked her up. Taeyeon mumbled something in her sleep before wrapping her arms around my neck and nestling her head into my
chest. Slowly, I made my way towards the door, careful not to jostle the girl sleeping in my arms. The door creaked slightly upon
opening and Taeyeon stirred, making a face before going back to sleep. I chuckled lightly to myself and thought, “Wow. She really
must be exhausted.” Finally, I made it to the bedroom, setting down Taeyeon lightly on the bed and gently unwrapping her arms from
around my neck. After collecting her bags from my car, I went to the kitchen and wrote out a note. “Taeyeon, if you wake up, I had to
go run an errand and go to the store. I won’t be gone too long. I love you.” Quietly, I snuck into the bedroom and placed the note on
the nightstand and, before leaving, kissed Taeyeon’s forehead.
After driving to the grocery store and picking up food for a picnic, I made my way to the jeweler. “Good afternoon.” The
jeweler, a guy by the name of Thompson, said. “Ah, hello.” I responded, “I was looking to get a ring. For an engagement actually.”
Thompson smiled before asking, “Who is the lucky lady?” “My girlfriend. We have been dating for about two years now.” I answered.
“Well then, come take a look at the selection we have to offer. Perhaps I can be a bit of help with this.” Thompson replied.
“What about this one?” I asked, pointing to a white gold ring with a 1.5 carat diamond. We had been going over rings for
about 20 minutes. “The princess cut?” Thompson answered, pointing to the same one I was pointing at. “Yes, that one. What do you
think of it?” I asked. “A lovely choice. The diamond is very clear and this cut is one of my favorites.” Thompson replied. “Then consider
it sold.” I smiled, happy that I made my decision. After paying for the ring and tucking it safely inside my front pocket before returning to
my car and making my way home. Once more, I parked in the driveway and got out, making my way towards the door. Quietly I
unlocked and walked inside and, to my astonishment, saw Taeyeon sitting on the couch waiting for me. “Hey, love. Do you want to go
on a picnic at the park?” I asked.
