Chapter 10
A Love, Everlasting
I awoke to the darkness of my bedroom, the sounds of the night swaddling me. “Taeyeon.” I whispered. There was no answer. I felt
around on her side of the bed feeling nothing but empty bed sheets. “Oh… That’s right. She left.” I remembered. My mind flickered
back to the image of her walking out of the door into the slight drizzle. Seeing her get into the car. Seeing her drive away into the
night. It had all seen like a bad dream, that something like this could even happen. “I just want to talk to her. So we can work things
out.” I thought to myself, tears beginning to spill from my eyes as I cried myself back to sleep.
Once more, I awoke, this time, the room was bright and the birds were chirping outside my window. I rubbed my eyes, which were
sore from the crying. My thoughts once again flashed back to Taeyeon leaving and my heart fell towards my stomach, crippled by
sadness. Slowly, I got out of bed and shuffled my way towards the kitchen before stopping midway. “I don’t feel like eating.” I thought to
myself. I stood in that same spot, lost in my own house. “I don’t know what to do without her.” I thought. “Will she answer my phone
call?” Then another thought entered my mind. “I shouldn’t call her. She has to come around eventually.” Lifelessly, I began shuffling
back to my room and lay down in bed, letting the day waste away. Finally, my hunger got the best of me. I began journeying back to
the kitchen, opening the refrigerator and glancing inside, spying some yogurt. I opened up the container and spooned some into my
mouth. After getting through half the cup of yogurt, I once again lost my appetite, however I forced myself to finish eating. Suddenly,
the phone rang. My heart quickened as I ran and picked up the receiver. “Hello?” I said, breathlessly. “Hello.” The voice of the
salesman answered back. I hung up as my heart once again sank back into depression. Silently, I collapsed onto the cough, tears
stinging my eyes once again. “I just want to hear her voice.” I thought to myself.
The sky flared a bright orange as the sun began to sink below the horizon. I had lost track of just how long I sat on the couch. “As
if it even matters.” I thought aloud. I began to make my way back to the bedroom for another night of restless sleep. The sound of my
feet dragging across the carpet was the only sound ading the house. Once more I heard the shrill ring of the phone, this time my
hopes not rising. I once again picked up the receiver and answered “Hello?” The other line was silent. “Hello? Is anyone there?” I
asked again. The phone was silent for another few seconds before a voice on the other line answered. “Hello.” The voice said, as my
heart began to beat faster.
