Time was ticking slowly.

 

Days past by, Chanyeol knew he did not have much time life left.

No, he did not even bother to count time.

 

The more he cared about the time, the more he felt as if he was losing himself.

 

He could not even keep himself sane all time.

 

“Sehun ah, I’m sorry.”

Chanyeol said as he breathed in.

He looked up at the night sky.

 

Wow, there were many stars up there.

But too bad, he could not see it any longer.

 

No, wait.

He would be able to see it when he is up there.

 

He smiled.

Tears brimmed up in his eyes.

“I’m sorry, Baekhyun.”

 

Tears overflowed,

Out from his eyes,

Down to his cheeks.

 

He slowly closed his eyes.

Sehun woke up with a major headache.

 

Damn,

He cursed beneath his breath as he sat up from his bed.

He could not even remember how he get back home.

 

He walked out from his room and greeted his mother.

 

“Morning.”

Sehun croaked, with his eyes closed as he furrowed his eyebrows.

 

“You have a mail.”

His mother passed the envelope to him.

 

To: Sehun.

 

It’s Chanyeol’s handwriting.

 

Sehun quickly tore opened the envelope.

All he found was just a key with a label.

 

“4….12?”

Sehun could not understand why did Chanyeol sent him a key.

He quickly ran back to his room and began to dial a string of number.

 

“Hello?”

 

“It’s sehun. Have you received any mail from Chanyeol?!”

Sehun asked anxiously.

 

“Yes.”

 

“What does it say?”

Sehun asked again.

 

“XX district, XX park.

Area C.”

 

“XX park… XXpark…”

Sehun mumbled.

 

Think, think, think.

Sehun thought.

 

“Area C... Damn it. I know where it is!”

Sehun exclaimed.

“Baekhyun, meet me at XX district, XX park.

Entrance B.”

 

After saying that, Sehun quickly changed his clothes and dashed out from his house.

 

“Your breakfast!”

His mother yelled as she saw Sehun dashed out.

Just as he ran around the corner, he saw Baekhyun standing over there, at the entrance.

“Area C!”

Sehun said, without stopping, ran towards the direction that he pointed.

 

Of course, Baekhyun did not understand why Sehun was running past him but he followed anyway.

 

Area C was at the end of a park, by a riverbank.

It was a place with beautiful scenery.

 

Sehun slowly came to a stop as he reached Area C.

He took out the key that Chanyeol sent him with his trembled hands.

 

“Sehun?”

Baekhyun called out anxiously as he saw Sehun walked towards to one of the lockers.

 

Sehun opened the lockers and found a few items.

Chanyeol.

 

 

A necklace, Chanyeol’s favourite pair of Nike shoes, his Beats and a tape recorder player.

 

 

Baekhyun quickly grabbed the necklace as tears welled up in his eyes.

 

What does all these means?

Baekhyun coud not help thinking.

It was the necklace tag that Baekhyun bought for him.

 

Sehun reached out for the pair of shoes.

He touched from the tip to the back.

That pair was Chanyeol’s favourite pair.

 

They notice a label on the player.

 

Listen.

 

Just as both of them wanted to listen to it, two policemen came over.

“Sorry, have you guys been here for long?”

 

Baekhyun wiped his tears away.

“Nope, we’ve just reach.”

 

“By any chance, did you guys saw any suspicious looking person walked by?”

One of the policemen asked.

 

“No.”

Sehun replied.

 

Something was not right.

 

“May we know what happened?”

Baekhyun asked.

 

No, no.

Sehun prayed.

 

“We’ve found a dead body by the river bank.

It appeared to be dead for approximately 9 hours ago.”

The policeman replied.

 

Baekhyun stood a few steps back.

Keep calm.

It couldn't be.

 

“May we know, where the dead body was found?”

Sehun asked.

 

“it’s by the riverbank. If it has nothing gonna do with you guys, then..”

The policemen just thanked them and then walked off, back to the riverbank.

 

“Chanyeol…”

Sehun called out.                                                           

“No... It can’t be.”

 

“That’s right.”

Baekhyun nod his head as he clenched the necklace tightly within his fist.

“It couldn’t be him.”

 

“Let’s go.”

Sehun said with his trembled voice as he collected the items from the locker.

 

Just then, Baekhyun’s phone rang.

It was from Chanyeol.

 

“See, it’s Chanyeol!”

Baekhyun exclaimed.

“He’s fine!”

 

Baekhyun quickly picked up his phone.

“Chanyeol ah!”

 

“Hello? Is this Mr Byun Baekhyun?”

It was a voice Baekhyun had not heard before.

He froze.

 

“What?”

Sehun asked upon seeing Baekhyun’s expression changed.

 

“Yes…”

Baekhyun replied.

 

“This is Park Chanyeol’s phone.

Your number appears as {1} on the speed dial.

Could you please come over to identify his identity at XXX hospital…”

 

 

 

 

 

 

And Baekhyun fainted on the spot.
