CHAPTER SIX.
Bad Boy
Jiyong’s POV
Why the hell does my head hurt so much?! I never should have went to the bar. Why the hell did I drink so much? Where the hell am I? Am I at a hotel and why am I ? I looked down to the floor and see two set of clothes scattered on the floor. Did I hook up with someone?! Did I just cheat on Dara? I was scared to look over to the other side and see who it is. I looked over and it was Haeyoung! We hooked up?! I scooted closer to her and pushed her hair out of her face. She looked very peaceful sleeping. I smiled to myself and I don’t know why but I kissed her on the cheek. I was about to get up and change but I saw her moving so I pretended to go back to sleep. I heard her mumbling something and I heard rustling noises. A few minutes later, I heard the door close. I opened my eyes and saw that she was gone. Did she just leave me here all by myself?
Haeyoung’s POV
How could I be so stupid?! How could I drink so much? How the hell did I even sleep with Jiyong? What am I going to do now? I wonder if he knows it was me? I stopped by the pharmacy to pick up some headache medicine and headed home. I arrived at my apartment and walked into the elevator. The door was about to close but a hand stopped it. It was Jiyong. Why is he here?! Oh yeah… he lives here now. I avoided eye contact and just stood all the way in the corner. He didn’t say anything too. I guess he doesn’t know it was me. The elevator arrived at my floor and I was about to get off when he spoke up.
“We need to talk about last night.”
“Come to my place then.” I told him and we walked towards my apartment.
We arrived inside my apartment and both seated at my couch. No one said anything. I was waiting for him to speak up. What does he want to say anyways?
“I’m sorry for last night. I was really drunk and if I forced you to hook up with me then I apologize. I’ll take responsibility for my mistake last night. You can tell Dara if you like to. I’m really sorry Haeyoung. I keep on getting you involved and I apologize for that.”
His mistake? He’s apologizing? He thinks he forced me to?
“You’re getting it wrong Jiyong. I was drunk too so I don’t remember anything. You don’t have to take responsibility. It was both our mistake. I won’t tell Dara. I won’t gain anything from that. We should just forget about what happen. We were both drunk and it was a mistake.” I told him.
“I’m sorry.”
“I already told you. We were both at fault so there’s no need to apologize.” I told him.
“I’m sorry for being a . I’m sorry for hurting Haeyoung. I’m sorry for wasting five years of your life. I’m sorry for you meeting a guy like me. If you hadn’t met me then you would’ve met the love of your life by now and I’m sorry for that.” He told me.
“That’s all in the past. What’s done is done. We can’t go back and change it. Let’s just forget about it and go our own ways.” I told him. “Go and live your life with Dara and I’ll live mine. Don’t feel bad because I’m fine now. We both learned from that relationship so there’s no point to feel burdened by it.”
“I’m really sorry.”
“Stop apologizing. If that’s all you have to say can you leave? I’m tired and I just want to sleep.” I told him.
“Alright. Bye Haeyoung ah. Live a great life and I hope you find happiness.” He told me before leaving.
I smiled sadly to myself and thought about what he said. I wanted to live a great life with you Kwon Jiyong. You were my happiness.
Jiyong’s POV
After the talk with Haeyoung, I didn’t feel any better. Even though she said for us to both move on and that she was fine. Why am I feeling this way? I should be happy that we’ve finally closed this chapter. I couldn’t help but still worry for her and think about her. Does she hate me for sleeping with her? What does she really feel about it? I need to stop thinking about her!
I went to go take a cold shower and went back to sleep. I slept for hours until I heard my phone ringing. It was Dara.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Where were you last night?! Did you know I was trying to call you all night?! Were you cheating on me?!”
I was getting sick and tired of the way she acts. Can’t she trust me? Well technically I did cheat on her but she does this every time.
“I was at Youngbae’s. I don’t have to tell you everything… you don’t so why should I? I’m a grown man and I can do whatever I like. You act like I’m your dog. I don’t want to talk to you right now. I’m hanging up.” I told her and hung up.
The next few days have been a blur for me. It was the same routine every day. Work, go home and eat, and fight with Dara. And the cycle repeats. We’ve been fighting constantly over the stupidest things. She’s becoming very irritating and it pisses me off. I haven’t seen Haeyoung ever since that day. I arrived at the apartment and walked into the elevator and Haeyoung was inside. We didn’t say anything to each other. It looked like she just went grocery shopping. The elevator arrived at her floor and she got off. I realized that she forgot a few of her bags and ran after her.
“Haeyoung wait!” I called after her and she stopped and looked at me. “You forgot these.”
“Oh. Thanks a lot!” She said and grabbed them from me when my stomach started to growl.
Stupid stomach. Out of all times you decided to growl on me now. I heard her giggling and looked up at her. My face turned red and I felt like an idiot.
“Come on in. I’ll cook you a meal to thank you.” She told me and I just nodded and followed her.
We arrived inside her apartment and she told me to just sit and watch TV while she prepares dinner. I was looking around her apartment. It was really clean and organized. I saw a few of her photo frames… pictures with her family and friends. I couldn’t help but smile at them. She looked so happy.
“Do you need any help?” I asked her.
“No it’s okay. Just sit and watch TV. Dinner will be ready soon.” She told me and I just nodded.
I watched her cooked and she was humming a song. She looked really cute in her apron. She looked life a wife cooking for her husband. My heart felt warm when I thought about that. My phone was ringing and it was Dara. I didn’t want to pick up because I know that we’ll fight about something.
“Your phone is ringing. Aren’t you going to pick it up?” She asked me.
“It’s nothing important. I’ll call them back later.” I told her.
“I see.” She said.
After thirty minutes, the food was finished and we were eating. The food was delicious! I forgot how good of a cook Haeyoung was. Dara can’t even cook! She’s never once cooked for me! She was afraid of breaking her nails or getting her hands dirty.
“How’s the food?” She asked me.
“It’s really good! I forgot how good of a cook you were!” I grinned at her.
“Thanks.” She smiled at me.” Eat a lot but don’t eat to fast.”
“Yes sir!” I said while digging in. “You eat too!”
“I know.” She said and we both ate our food in silence.
After we finished eating, I offered to do the dishes since she cooked. She didn’t let me but I kept on insisting. After I was done with the dishes I headed to her living room and sat down next to her.
“What are you watching?” I asked her.
“Some random variety show.” She said.
“Ah. Thanks for dinner. It was really good. I forgot how good a home cooked meal is.” I smiled at her.
“You don’t eat home cooked meals?” She asked me.
“No. You know I can’t cook and I never have time to visit my mom. Dara can’t cook either. So it’s either ramen or take out.” I grinned at her.
“That’s not healthy!” She told me.
“I know but there’s nothing I can do.” I told her.
“If you ever crave anything just tell me and I’ll cook it for you.” She told me.
“Really?” I asked her.
“Yeah.” She told me.
We just stared at each other without saying anything. I don’t know what possessed me but I grabbed her face and started kissing her. She started kissing me back too! We broke the kiss and just stared at each other.
“I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have kissed you back! I don’t know what I was thinking!” She told me.
“No I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have kissed you. Let’s just forget about that okay?” I told her.
“Yeah. Let’s just forget about it.” She replied.
“I-I have to go now. I’ll see you around.” I told her and left.
Why the hell is my heart beating so fast?!
Haeyoung’s POV
The next few weeks have been hell for me. No sponsors want to invest in the company. No one at all wanted to invest in a company with a bad reputation. My dad offered to but I didn’t want him to. I didn’t want any help from my family. I wanted to do this all on my own. Youngbae, Ri In, and I tried to find a solution but there was none at all. We decided to just all give up. Youngbae didn’t want to but I begged him to give in. There’s nothing we can do. Today we were in the office packing all our things. It was our last day. I felt bad because I couldn’t keep my promise to Ri In.
She said it was fine and that I shouldn’t worry. I don’t think I’m going to be working for a while. I just want to relax and forget about this ty year. After we were done with everything, Youngbae invited us to go out for some drinks. Ri In declined because she had a date while I agreed. We arrived at the place and were about to sit down when he heard someone calling Youngbae.
“Hyung? What are you doing here? Come sit with us!” I heard a very familiar voice and we both turned around to see Daesung and the whole crew including Jiyong.
I haven’t seen Jiyong ever since our kiss.
“We don’t have to sit with them if you don’t feel comfortable. We can just leave.” Youngbae whispered to me.
“It’s fine. Let’s just go over there.” I told him and we walked towards their booth.
“Haeyoung?!” Daesung said. “Is that you?”
“Hi Daesung.” I smiled at him.
“It really is you! How have you’ve been?!”
“Good.”
“Sit down!” He said and Youngbae and I both sat down.
“It’s been a while now noona.” Seungri said.
“Yeah.” I replied.
“What have you’ve been up to noona?”
“Nothing. My company just closed down today.” I told him.
“Why? It was doing so well!” Seungri said.
“Things happened.” I replied.
“How-” Seungri was about to ask but TOP cut him off.
“You’ve gotten prettier Haeyoung ah! Do you have any new man in your life?” He said.
“Ani. No one.” I smiled at him. “I’ve been too busy but now that I’m jobless I think I may go find a guy.”
“If you need a man just call me. I’ll introduce you to a few good guys.” He told me.
“Thank you. I think I’ll take you up on that offer. Introduce me to one.”
“Alright.” He grinned at me and I looked at Jiyong.
He didn’t look too happy and he was just drinking. Did he get in a fight with Dara.
“What’s wrong Jiyong?” Youngbae asked him. “Why do you look mad? Did you get in another fight with Dara? You guys have been fighting a lot lately. You guys were never like this.”
They’ve been fighting a lot?
“It’s nothing. Just leave it.” He snapped and we were all surprised by his sudden outburst.
“Let’s talk Ji.” Youngbae said and pulled him from the booth and walked outside.
“I apologize for hyung. He was fine before you guys came.” Seungri said and Daesung elbowed him.
So it’s my fault that he’s like this. It’s my fault that he’s moody. Did I do something wrong to him?
“Oh I see.” I told him.
“Ignore what this idiot said. It’s not your fault Haeyoung. He’s been really moody lately. I think it’s because of the wedding planning and he’s been fighting with Dara a lot.” TOP said.
“De.” I smiled at him.
My phone started to ring and it was Chaewon unnie.
“Hello?”
“Where are you? Let’s hang out?”
“Unnie I can’t hear you. Hold up.” I told her and got up from my seat and headed outside. “What did you say?”
“I said where are you? Let’s hang out since I’m bored.” Unnie whined.
“I’m out with friends right now but I’ll stop by later.” I told her.
“Fine. Bring some sweets!” She said.
“I will. I’ll see you in a bit unnie.” I told her and hung up.
I was about to walk inside the club when I heard voices talking. It was Youngbae and Jiyong.
“WHY THE HELL DO YOU KEEP ON TELLING ME THAT I’M IN LOVE WITH MOON HAEYOUNG?! I’M NOT IN LOVE WITH HER. DID YOU FORGET THE REASON WHY I FIRST APPROACHED HER? IT WAS ALL FOR A STUPID BET! I’VE NEVER BEEN IN LOVE WITH HER NOR AM I IN LOVE WITH HER! STOP SAYING STUPID LIKE THAT!” Jiyong shouted.
So everything was a bet? He approached me because of a stupid bet? Everything has been a lie? He didn’t really care for me? What the hell did they even bet on?! Just when I thought things were getting better between Jiyong and I… he has to become a again. I feel so stupid for believing that he was a good guy. I am the world’s biggest idiot for giving him a chance again. I will never give him another chance anymore. I walked back into the club and grabbed my things.
“Where are you going?” Daesung asked me.
“I have to go to my unnie’s.” I told him.
“Can’t you stay for a bit?” Seungri asked me.
“I’m sorry. It was nice seeing you guys again.” I told them and left.
I met Jiyong and Youngbae in the front. They were about to walk through the door.
“Where are you going?” Youngbae asked me.
“Chaewon unnie called and wants to hang out.” I told him and avoided eye contact with Jiyong.
I’m an idiot for trusting you again you . A bet? I was just some bet? Well screw you too.
“Ah. Do you need a ride?” He asked me.
“No. I’ll take a cab. Bye.” I said and left.
Kwon Jiyong. You . Why do you keep on hurting me?
