A few days after that day I spoke to Jaeli,
one morning, I happened to stumble upon Eunkyung's diary.
She left it on the table. Since she was still asleep
and I'm curious and nosy,
I decided to browse through.
Turns out that Hyora did bully Eunkyung using lizards.
And it was on that day where I
wasn't around cause I was at Jaeli's.
If I was there I would have saved Eunkyung.
What made me really frustrated was the fact that
Eunkyung wrote in her diary,
that she feels like dropping out.
The thing was, if she left,
another girl might be used to replace her.
What if the girl isn't as patient?
What if the girl uses her leader authority against Hyora?
I quickly left Eunkyung's diary alone and left the room.
I needed someone to talk to.
And the first person that came to my mind was Baekhyun.
I quickly made a sandwich and ate it as I walked to the sm building.
I didn't really think about whether he was there
but Baekhyun told me a few days ago
that they were preparing for their comeback,
so being the hardworking him,
he should be at sm practising.
The first place I thought of to check for him
was the music room.
I encountered him there so many times that
that room just became a meeting place for us.
Sadly, when I got there,
the person whom I saw was the person
I least wanted to speak to,
Jung Hyora.
Hyora turned over immediately when I opened the door,
with her hands still on a guitar.
"Are you here to look for Baekhyun?
He's in the recording studio.
Sorry but you can't talk to him now,"
Hyora said, turning back to her guitar.
I tried to hide my disappointment by saying,
"eonni, I didn't know you could play the guitar."
"My father taught me a few years ago."
I nodded and took a seat in front of Hyora
but a distance away.
I unconsciously sulked and was strangely quiet.
Hyora laughed and I turned to her.
"What?"
She looked up from her guitar and said,
"you can talk to your oppa later.
You don't have to be so sad."
I smiled.
Hyora's still the friend I made back then,

"Sort of guessed that you'll like
Baekhyun already. He's so nice to you."
I jumped.
"Eonni! I don't like him!
We're really just very close friends!
And he's my senior back in school too,
that's why we're naturally closer!"
"Okay, okay," she laughed,
"I get it. Don't have to be so defensive.
But you need to know, friendships don't last long..."
I turned to Hyora to see her still smiling.
Did she just linked my friendship to hers and Jaeli's?
Hyora sort of noticed I thought about something else,
so she quickly added,
"what I meant was one of you guys
will bound to fall in love.
No reference or link to me and Jaeli.
No, not at all."
Hyora then went back to her guitar.
Silence fell between us and there was suddenly
this invisible wall between us that Hyora chose to build.
Turns out, I wasn't as close to Hyora as I thought.
There's still a lot I don't know about her.
She has always been doting on me,
the youngest, and yet I've done nothing for her.
Reason why she understands me but yet
the understanding isn't mutual..
To think I still reminded her of Jaeli.
I then thought of the reason why I left house.
I wanted to talk to someone about Eunkyung.
Maybe talking to Hyora would be the best.
"Eonni," I called.
"Yes?"
She replied without looking up.
"Why do you always pick on Eunkyung?"
"Why are you asking?"
Her tone became hostile
and I was a bit intimidated.
"Cause... Well, Eunkyung, she...
She's so, uhm, upset that she...
Wants to drop out."
"I haven't been picking on her recently."
I thought about it and it was quite true.
"But why did you pick on her back then?"
"_____, sometimes you just need a place
to vent your anger.
I can't just scream and yell about how angry and sad
I am that Jaeli left without a word.
And because Jaeli left without saying anything,
I could only put the blame on Eunkyung."
"Pardon?"
"Since I don't know why must Jaeli leave,
I'll just take it that she wasn't good enough,
so she got replaced by Eunkyung."
"But Jaeli didn—"
"No, please don't tell me.
I obviously know Jaeli didn't get replaced
because she wasn't good.
But this is the only scenario
where I can't do anything about."
"I don't get you..."
"If I knew why Jaeli left,
I would have reasoned and tried
to work out a way for Jaeli to stay.
If the reason why Jaeli had to leave is
because sm decided to get her replaced,
there's nothing I could do, you get me?
So I might as well not know the real reason.
I'm sorry, Eunkyung."
I was finally understanding Hyora.
I suddenly didn't hate her so much anymore.
She was back to the eonni I knew,
and maybe more.
If only Eunkyung could hear the apology herself.
