Seeing Her
Special Someone (CURRENTLY EDITING)
We were on our way back to our
dorm one day when Lay stopped me.
"Do you have some time to spare?"
"Yixing oppa, why?"
"There's someone you need to talk to.
I've already gotten your manager's consent."
I turned to my eonni-s and saw then waiting for me
. I told them to go back to the dorm first and
I'll go back before the curfew.
I gained their consent and they left.
"I'm bringing you somewhere, okay?"
"What? Where?"
"You'll know later. Come on, let's go."
"Oppa, wait! I can't just leave with you to somewhere!"
"Don't you want to know Jaeli's side of the story?"
Jaeli? What about Jaeli? Please oppa,
please bring me to her!
"Alright, let's go."
Luhan drove Lay and I to somewhere.
I wasn't paying attention to the road and all,
so I didn't know where were we.
Luhan then pulled his car to a stop and
told Lay and I to get down.
Lay led me to a building and pressed the lift.
When the lift came, Lay told me to go in and
he wouldn't be joining me. He pressed the top floor
and waved to me as the door closed.
Upon reaching the top floor,
I went out of the lift and saw Baekhyun.
"Oppa?"
"You're finally here! Took Lay long enough."
"What's going on?"
"Go in the apartment, you'll know."
I entered the apartment closest to the lift
and saw Jaeli seated on a couch.
"Jaeli eonni!"
I said and dashed over to hug her.
She called me and hugged me too.
I didn't expect to see her ever again.
"I missed you all so much,
even though it had only been a week."
"A week is enough to kill me,"
I said and squeezed Jaeli in my embrace.
"Why did you leave?! Did sm kick you out?!
I'll go scold them!"
"Hahaha, no they didn't! Anyway,
welcome to my house.
I'm currently alone at home,
so no one will hear our conversation."
She then turned to Baekhyun.
Baekhyun was about to leave when she told him,
"it's okay, you can stay. You heard my story anyway."
Baekhyun then nodded and closed the door for Jaeli.
"I'll drop those two down there a text.
Just go on with your conversation."
I turned back to Jaeli and asked,
"so why aren't you with us anymore?"
Jaeli sighed and said,
"it's about time I grew up."
I shook my head to show my lack of understanding.
"My parents found a well paying job,
but both of them can't quit their job,
so they told me to take up the job."
"Eonni, you could have rejected them..."
Jaeli shook her head as she gave me a warm smile.
"My mother never supported me
of being in the entertainment industry.
She said, it's unrealistic. Yes,
you might get fame and earn a lot at once,
but as time pass, people forget you as
there are rising new stars. The income then starts to drop
and you'll soon be doing desperate things
to be popular once again.
Fame is somewhat addictive, as she says.
She stated that she'll rather I not
get any fame from the start
and just work decently."
"Being in the entertainment industry
is not indecent!"
Jaeli was starting to tear up
and she sounded different.
"To adults it is."
"But you're not an adult!"
"Adults think that once you look taller,
or bigger means you've grown;
once you move up to a higher education level
means you're grown;
after every birthday celebration,
you'll be more realistic like them.
Those once a child completely forgets that
real growth cannot be seen and attained so easily.
Everyone assumes I've grown, but the truth is
I'm still very much a kid on the inside.
I still need help, I still cry to myself.
Not many people knows this, and less
will know in the future when I really grow..."
I couldn't help but to cry along with her,
and bent over to hug Jaeli.
"But since my parents are already relying on me,
I can't let them down. In their eyes, I've grown.
I'll move on to be an adult.
I'm glad I've known you, _____.
You have this thing that makes people
naturally want to connect with you;
I'm sort of envious."
I was literally sobbing then,
and unable to say anything to Jaeli.
Not only because of my tears, but also because
she somehow managed to convince me
to let her go.
Jaeli finally collected herself and laughed.
"Look at you! You're so ugly
when you cry! Stop crying!"
I released her at last and continued sniffling.
"Jaeli... I don't want you to go..."
"You cry too much.
You should change this bad habit."
"Jaeli..."
"People come and go in our lives.
I suppose it's fate that we should meet and separate.
But, we'll still be friends right?"
I nodded and wiped my tears off.
"Take down my new number.
I changed a number so
Hyora can't contact me."
Hyora? Weren't they best friends?
Why won't they talk?
"But Hyora eonni—"
"If she knows about my state, she'll fight
for it till everything goes back to normal.
I can't bear to see her do that.
I'll regret giving up everything.
Might as well have her hate on me
for leaving without a reason or a farewell."
"So you'll rather give up this friendship?"
Jaeli nodded.
"It was great knowing her though.
If I can, I'd really like to hug her one last time.
But..."
"I understand."
"So you better be off now!
Don't think too much about me,
concentrate on your future!
Goodbye, _____, or Hani.
Till we meet again, in adulthood."
