"b-beaten? Why?" I heard Chanyeol ask

"it's a long sto-" I heard the door open and immediatlyturned around to see Lay walk in with Kris. The weird part was he didn't seem to be in a hurry. It looked like he had all the time in the world.

"LAYY!! Hurry Boss is looking for you!!" I rushed to him and dragged him to the office before he had the chance to speak

"Yah why are you late! You know how much boss hates it" I asked as we walked to the office

"yeah i know but I wanted to stay with Kris a little longer, I don't think i mind all the beating anymore chen" Lay smiled though i can see a little bit of fright in his eyes

For some reason what Lay said hit me hard. Suddendly my chest was feeling stiff like it was carrying a lot of burden on it "you're a fool you know that?" I said as i opened the door to the office "boss la-"

"oh Yixing!! Come here son!' I heard the high pitched voice of our boss and looked inside. There sat Lay's uncle and aunt 

"Oh! You came?" I looked at Lay and he seemed to be really happy. He smiled as he walked towards his uncle and aunt and hugged them.

Just watching the scene made me smile. It was a while before i saw Lay smile like that. Lay's uncle and aunt think that the boss had adopted Lay when his parent's died but that was a lie. Well technically she did adopt him but never treated him as a son. Instead she would treat him like a slave. But when his relatives came to visit she would act like the most kindest mother on earth and Lay didn't seem to mind since he always went with the flow.If only his relatives had adopted him instead of the boss he would have been living a better life. But i guess its not their fault they didn't know about the death until after he was adopted. 

I looked at lay one last time and closed the door of the office. I smiled knowning that he was safe as long as his uncle and aunt were in there with him. Deciding to go back to the counter i walked into the lobby and immdetiately the smile that was on my face disappeared. For a second i forgot about that gaint. I looked at Kris, he seemed to be talking to Chanyeol about something serious.  I signed as i examined him from head to toe. So what if he was tall with good looks? I'm not as tall as him but i also have good looks, actually i'm wayy more handsome than him, then why does Lay chose him? Again i was feeling anger towards Kris. Without thinking i walked up to him and said through grinded teeth "let's talk" and walked out. When i arrived at the back of the building i turned around now facing Kris who looked confused. "whats with you?"

"what's the reason you hang around lay?" I asked straight forward catching him off guard

"huh?" He gave me a weird look then continued "that's none of your business" 

"from what lay does to everyone he meets is my business, unlike you i actually care about him" I replied giving him a glare

"so you do like him, well I'm here to tell you you're too late. Lay is already mine" Kris smirked making my insides boil

"Yours? You're kidding right? Ever since you came Lay's gettting hurt and you tell me he's yours? Do you usually bring pain to your loved ones? huh kris?" I tried to keep calm but he was pissing me off

"what the hell are you talking about?" Kris asked 

I looked at him and saw something in his eyes that i have never seen before. I couldn't exactly figure out what it was but seeing that made me feel a little guitly for what i said.

"the beating you saw that day do you know the reason behind it" i asked as i stared at the floor

"you think if i knew i would have been just sitting still not doing anything?" I heard Kris reply

I signed before continuing "After Lay's parent's died the boss and her husband adopted Lay right away. Everyone thought that he would be happy since Lay had knew the boss from when he was a baby. She would always come to their house and play with him. She was his mother's best friend. Thats why everyone thinks he's happy but the truth is he's really alone and hates living in that house. The reason why boss adopted him was because his parent's owed her money. Before they died their business went bankrupt so they had borrowed money from the boss but weren't able to pay it back. As time passed the amount kept increasing because of the interest. Now that Lay's parents died, there was no one to pay back the money expect Lay. At first Lay didn't know about it but one day he heard boss talking to her friend about the debt and from then on Lay's been working for them trying to pay off the debt. In the past there were many times when Lay felt like giving up. He wouldn't eat and stayed in his room but then the memories of his parents would bring him back. You know kris he once told me that he's not doing it for himself so he can live freely without anything to worry about, but hes doing it cause his parents were too good. They always did whatever he asked them to even if they were in finanical trouble. Because of that he wanted to prove that he was also a good son

I looked up and saw Kris biting his lips to the point that i thought they would bleed

"if he's doing a-" His voice cracked. Again he bit his lip then continued "why are they treating him like that if he's working to pay all the debt?"

"Didn't I tell you he's their salve and he's the type of salve that they wouldn't find anywhere else. He listens to everything they say and follows whatever they tell him to do without arguing. Who would let go of a person like that Kris. But recently Lay is starting to go out more and comes late at night or comes late to work in the morning. Obviously that worrys the boss. To her it looks like the salve that she had put on chains is slowly breaking them and if she doesn't stop it, it'll break and he would be free" I finished then looked to my left. It was then Kris broke down

Okay I'm a bit proud for this chapter, so much better than the last one!!
