Chapter 4: It’s NOT A Date!

Hae’s POV:

“Hae!” my mom calls. “I want you to take Byunghun on a date and show him around. Okay?” she says smiling.

DATE!?

 “Mom I don’t want to! Besides I promised Luka I would go to the store with him after school!” I whine.

“Well you can take Byunghun with you!” she says.

Take him with us? I don’t want anyone to know I’m living with this idiot!

 “I’ll cancel my plans with Luka.” I grumble as I head out the door. I run up to Byunghun who is already at the bus stop.

“We don’t know each other. Got it?” I say sternly.

“What? You don’t want anyone to know that you’re living with the awesome and handsome L.Joe?”

“Course not!” I yell at him. “More like Byunghun the blonde rebel.” I mumble.

“What’s that?” he asks.

“Oh nothing…” I say.

[Skip to Lunch]

“Luka I’m sooooo sorry but I have to cancel on our plans after school!” I say sitting down at our usual table.

“Ah it’s ok.” Says Luka. “What came up?” he asks.

“Oh nothing really…Just some…things?” I try to say normally I glance over at Byunghun.

He’s already sitting at the popular table... Figures!

 “You’re not ditching me for a date are you?” Luka says laughing.

I choke a little on my sandwich. 

What!? Act cool! 

I laugh awkwardly with him. “Pft! Date me? Haha not in a million years!” I say trying to sound nonchalant.

“OMGOSH!” Luka says shocked. “You are ditching me for a date! Hae!” He whines.

“How could you? We’re best friends!”

How did he know!?

 “I told you Luka something came up…Uh…Family things.”

Luka scoffs. “Hae you’re my best friend I can tell when you’re lying.

“Fine…But it’s NOT a date! We’re just hanging out!” I say defensively.

“Sure, sure, whatever.” Luka says.

“Look Luka I’m really sorry!” I say.

“It’s fine.” Luka says but he looks hurt.

Stupid mom! Stupid Byunghun!

 “Look I’ll make it up to you. How about I buy you a cookie?” I say smiling.
