Chapter 20: Detention With A Curly Haired Rebel

Hae's POV:

"Please sit down and be quiet." Mrs. Pringlie said as I entered the detention room. "You seem to be getting a lot of these detentions recently...Hopefully this doesn't become a regular thing right?" she asks. I nod my head.

"It won't happen again." I say. I looked around for open seats. There was a seat next to a boy with blonde hair that was cut short. He looked scary and intimidating. Is he a new kid? Maybe the transfer that's a year ahead of us... I decided to sit far away from him in the back row.

"Is Mr.Choi here?" Mrs. Pringlie asks looking at her detention attendence list.

I shake my head. "Nope I don't see him..."

Mrs. Kang makes a tsk noise, "He is not starting his school year out well. Well I have to go take care of my sick daughter at home. Don't anyone leave this room, I'll have Mr. Johnson check up on you guys." Mrs. Pringlie says as she leaves the room.

"Well I'm leaving." says a Senior with brown hair. "No point in staying, especially if Mr.Johnson's the one supervising." Him and 5 other kids leave, which just leaves the scary looking dude and me. Great...

No way am I leaving! I don't care if it's Mr.Johnson one of the least strict teachers in the school. I REFUSE and I mean REFUSE to get in trouble again!

[Ok this is kinda random but my la plage of a sister is screaming and crying in the room below me...She freakin' pooshes me off! No joke. I don't mean to seem like a mean/cruel sister...But I am in NO way a family person. Like at all...Anyway sorry for that little random middle text!]

"H-hey..." Pants the exchange student. What was his name again? "Sorry...I...I'm l-late..." He pants as he takes a seat beside me.

"PSSTTT!" says the curly haired boy next to me. Is he talking to me?  I look around the room and then back at him.

"Me?" I ask pointing to myself. He nods. "Yeah who else?" 

"Him." I say pointing to the scary looking blonde who's staring (more like glaring) into space.

"Oh well does Mrs. Pringlie know I'm late?" he asks. I nod my head. 

"Crap...I even ran to get here!" he say ruffling his curly hair.

"You?" I say disbelieving, "You ran and you still managed to be 20 minutes late?"

"Well...I got a little sidetracked I guess..." He says grinning.

"Sidetracked how?" I ask.

"Well I left school but then remembered I had detention so I had to run back here, and I took a shortcut through the park. But then I saw the most amazing thing!" He says enthusastically.

"I saw a little bunny rabbit!"

A bunny? Really?

"It was the COOLEST thing ever! So of course I had to stop and pet it and then feed it! Then I remembered I had detention and ran back here!" he said grinning.

Why is he grinning? He's late to detention, which means he'll probably get another one! Aren't exchange students supposed to be smart?

I decide to ignore this weird child. He'll only bring me trouble...

I turn back in my seat and ignore him. I start on some of my hw.
