Harmony Of Jung Family

On the same day where Yonghwa mourned upon his pendant, Ji Hoon got whipped by his subordinates, and Jessica got her shopping activity ruined by the sudden struck of heart attack, Yunho, Jin Woon, and of course, the youngest Krystal, had activities on their own, especially for Yunho, who was planned to meet the girls that Changmin referred as y, free, and single.

Obviously, his plan to make Changmin broke at the cafe was spoiled once he found out that the cafe was one of Shim's property, the plan backfired at him, he had to stay up until 5 am because of terrible amount of caffeine he had consumed. Maybe, trying to make fun of Changmin wasn't much fun at all, he thought.

As for Changmin, he found making fun of Yunho really entertaining.

Now, he's in Changmin's part of making fun of him, that is to get tangled with another blind date he didn't want to deal with, again.

The two groups agreed to meet in a restaurant. He was sitting between Kim Jaejoong, his best friend who's much like Changmin, playful and jolly. The other one was Choi Minho, the famous junior casanova in his old university, he was Sulli's older brother, the one who's also taking care of Krystal in Singapore besides Victoria. To Yunho's knowledge, he was sure Minho's got a girlfriend, and why he was there, Yunho couldn't help but wonder.

Yun, relax. The girls messaged me that they're going to be late. No need to be nervous, chill out.” Jaejoon advised, however, Jaejoong's advice's not exactly the advice that Yunho needed.

I am not, hyung. I hate these kinds of events and you're perfectly aware of it. If it weren't for that jerk Changmin..” Yunho was frowning and not a trace of happiness were to found on his face, sometimes he cursed himself for willing to be Changmin's best friend.

Why do you hate it, hyung? Isn't this kind of events 'fun'?” Minho inquired the older guy.

I believe our definition of 'fun' is different, Minho. Truthfully speaking, if it weren't for the debt that I owe you for letting Sulli to take care of Krystal, I wouldn't hesitate to cancel this date.” his statement was frigid.

Err..okay.” Minho dumbfoundedly replied.

But I think you've got it wrong, hyung. Krystal is taking care of Sulli instead, I think. She's somebody who can't take care of herself.” he added.

I thought this whole 'taking-care-of' thing was handed to that Chinese Song girl.” Jaejoong joined the gossip.

Victoria.” Yunho named the identity of 'Chinese Song Girl' Jaejoong was implicating.

Ah right, Victoria. I heard from Min, she's the oldest fellow in the , right? But in my opinion, Krystal alone is more than enough, Yun. She's a magnificent girl.” he praised.

Don't give her too much credit, she can't do a thing right without my help, that's what you called magnificent?” Yunho rebutted, sometimes he wonder why people look at Krystal in a high point.

Isn't that what you wish for? To have her cannot do a single thing right without your help?” Jaejoong asked with satirical intent.

What are you trying to imply?” his question was not something Yunho took lightly.

I'm saying that...” Jaejoong put his hand on Yunho's shoulder, “Your little sister is not so little anymore , so you might want to loosen up a bit, Yun. She's no longer your responsibilities.”

She is and she will always be, as long she's still my sister, hyung.”

No, no, no. I was talking in a different context. I mean, she's seventeen, you know what that means, right?”

That doesn't change” Yunho halted his sentence, he too, was, once seventeen, it was an age of glory, the age where you start a new chapter of your life, an age where Yunho himself demanded a lot to his parents about things he wanted them to do and not to do.

Age does change something.

Come on, Yun, lighten up a bit, don't you feel sorry for Krystal?”

Yunho snapped, “Feel sorry? For?”

She couldn't grow up as an independent individual, even if she wanted to, because you're there, haunting her around wherever she goes, I thought this is the point she went to Singapore.” Minho tried to join the conversation by nodding everytime Jaejoong said a thing, even he considered Jaejoong was someone wise enough to look up to.

Cut your wisecracks, hyung. I'm not in the mood.” Yunho snarled, he had to stop, before Jaejoong said something that he, couldn't do nothing but to admit that it's right.

See? You deflected right away. More evidence that what I'm saying is true, and you know it, you just deny it.” Jaejoong pushed Yunho with his testimony, however, the person Ji Hoon described as hot-headed couldn't take it anymore.

Yunho rose from his seat in all of the sudden,“Alright, what's your point? Stop beating around the bush or I'll leave, now.”

Jaejoong huffed a sigh, he knew it would come to this, but he had to make his point clear right away.

Don't you think, Krystal might felt disturbed with your presence around her?”

The short question, was a form of mockery, he couldn't accept it, but at the same time, he couldn't deny it. It was something he sometimes questioned himself, but he had never taken action upon it.

Krystal never said a word about it.

And he assumed that she's okay with it.

But, he clearly understood Jaejoong's question, he repeated the question inside his thought.

What if he was bugging her?

What if she wanted to move alone?

What if he was hated by her, because of actions, he thought she would like?

The questions echoed inside Yunho with different forms, it managed to silenced him and kept him back on his seat, Jaejoong felt a little guilty as his older fellow, but he couldn't help it, the truth was, Jaejoong didn't like everytime someone mentioned Krystal, the vision of Yunho was always there, Jaejoong wanted to remind this from a long time ago, but the timing was never right.

And that time, was not the best timing too.

Minho's cellphone rang, he received a text message, “Omo! Hyung, they said they have arrived! Let's wave our hands so they can see us!”

Jaejoong spanked Yunho's shoulders once again, “Let's say...this is the start of letting go, alrighty? You have yourself to be concerned, first and foremost.”

Yunho, gave a small nod, he didn't know whether what he was nodding to, accepting Jaejoong's statement, or answering the suggestion.

Minho waved his hands gleefully, seeing three young ladies entered the restaurant with their casual clothes, trying their best not to look excessive, in case they found their men partners unattractive, however, to their eyes (actually, according to public opinion of most girls) they found the men very handsome, even one, who wasn't that interested to participate in this blind date, thought the same.

“Sorry we are late, traffic jam at this hour in Seoul, you know..” said the girl with jet brown hair, she didn't look that apologetic and briefly made her way to the empty seat in front of Minho. The delay was something she actually planned, she wanted to know if the guys were willing to wait for them and still have smiles on their faces, because they often become an important sign to the future; will the guy patiently wait for the late girlfriend, and still have the smile on their face?

Inside her, a mental checklist was prepared.

Minho, check.

Yunho, pass. Although she had misunderstood the meaning of his face.

Jaejoong, check.

In the first valuation, Yunho was already out of his friends, not that he was serious about this, anyway.

“Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, the name's Boa, Kwon Boa.” she offered her hand, for an introduction.

“Choi Minho, call me Minho.”

She immediately skipped to Jaejoong's direction, as she already know that Yunho was not the one for her, she didn't bother unless Yunho offered his hand.

“Jaejoong, Kim Jaejoong.” Jaejoong followed the introduction.

She couldn't help but ask, just to make everything look fair. “And you are?”

He finally looked up to her, “Yunho, Jung Yunho.”

The other two quickly identified themselves, Sandara Park and Kwon Yuri, they were merely Boa's followers (especially Yuri, who was requested by her older sister to come along, because the numbers of the girls participant weren't enough) Yuri sat in front of Yunho, as Dara sat in front of Jaejoong.

Another cellphone rang, it was Yunho's this time, Boa was even more convinced that Yunho was a jerk who wouldn't even put his cellphone to silent at this very moment, where they should have a time of their life without interruption. Jung Yunho was literally kicked from Kwon Boa's list.

“Excuse me,” Yunho passed Jaejoong and walked few steps away from the blind date group, where they were now busy chitchatting about professions and Boa's valuation was ongoing inside her own thought.

“Jung Yunho! You have to go to Seoul National Hospital, now!” Ji Hoon was rushing in his sentence that Yunho barely understood what he said, “Hyung, repeat, please, slow down.”

“Father has collapsed! Ppali! His condition is in emergency, we're going to take him there!” the warning strung in Yunho's right ear, he almost dropped his phone in a shock, but he quickly got a grip of himself, and tightened the grip. “Arraso, hyung. I'll be there soon.”

Without hesitation, he scurried to the blind date table, “I'm sorry, guys, I guess I'm passing this date, emergency calls.” before he could dash out from the restaurant, Jaejoong somehow stopped him by pulling his elbow.

“No, please, Yunho. This time, stay.” he didn't ask him for his own will, but for Yunho's sake.

“Let me go, Hyung. This is serious matter, my father has collapsed, and I need to be there.” the girls gasped and both Jaejoong and Minho also couldn't hide their faces of surprise either. “Please, I don't ask you to cancel this date, go on without me. I'm not into this, anyway. Annyeong.” he bowed to the girls he just met, at least he could show a little bit of politeness.

“..Alright, be careful, Yunho.” Jaejoong's voice was croaked. Yunho briskly exited the restaurant afterwards.

The table he just left, was left in air of silence.

A pang of guilt appeared inside Boa. She had thought badly of Yunho, but at that time of point, Boa had to admit, she liked men who valued their families most, considering that she came from unharmonious family, and she wanted nothing more but to make a relationship with a man who cherished his family.

If she wanted to make a move, she had to do it, now.

“I'm sorry, guys, I'm not feeling well too. Please, continue without me.” Boa made her way out of restaurant. The other four went awkward, but they decided to go on casually like nothing happened.

In a word, the blind date was spoiled, but it proceed well.

Yunho clicked the button of his car key, opening the doors of his Mercedes-Benz, despite that his brother invented cars of J-Group, he didn't trust his products and used imported products such as this one. He sat on the driver's seat, turning the engine on, when suddenly he heard a knock on his window.

He lowered the power window of his car.

“Jung Yunho-shi?”

It took a while before he could spell out her name, “Yes, Boa-shi? Can I help you? I'm in the middle of emergency, so I would appreciate if you could make it fast.”

Yunho's remarks made her thought twice of her decision.

But in the end, she decided to go along just fine, “Could I hop in? I want to help your father.”

“How do you suppose to do that?”

“I'm a doctor, licensed doctor.”

Yunho paused for a bit, “Alright, hop on.”

Although the turn of events weren't the ones that both Yunho and Boa had expected, the two had the same thought in Yunho's car that's speeding to Seoul National Hospital.

This time's blind date might turn into something.

Jin Woon was rushed to the hospital as well as Ji Hoon spreaded the news to all of Jung Family that's currently in Seoul. The quiverful of Jung gathered in the Seoul National Hospital, Yunho was the last one to come from his blind date, bringing Kwon Boa along who entered te emergency room right after their arrival. Only one member of family is expected to be absent.

“Hyung, how's our father?!” Jin Woon crashed Ji Hoon with the question.

The older brother shook his head, “I can't confirm yet, Jin Woon. The only thing I know is that his heart was hurting when he hung out with Jessica, the ambulance took him few minutes after to the emergency room..but other than that, I couldn't say more.” Ji Hoon answered cluelessly, he himself only got the report from his little sister, he couldn't say much.

“It's all my fault..I shouldn't have brought him along with me..” Jessica was weeping endlessly in the arms of her cousin, Jung Eunji. The weigh of guilt was on her the most, although it wasn't exactly her fault, she thought it was.

Eunji sighed at her cousin in a weak state like this, “Unnie, gwenchana. It's not your fault, this is all happened as a coincidence.” Her sobs didn't come to an end, her face reddened, her voice croaked, she was getting worse and worse at that moment, Jessica couldn't get ahold of herself.

Mrs. Jung didn't cease to shed tears from her eyes, tissues by tissues has been discarded, sniffles by sniffles she let out in despair, for not staying by his side when he had the downfall, now, she's not allowed to be by his side again, the door that separated emergency room and waiting room was in her way this time, the door that seemed so close, but yet so far.

There's only one man, who didn't show a single fear or sorrow and sat while massaging his temples, he wasn't thinking of what to do, he was thinking what is he doing at that place. To Jung Yonghwa, this whole panic heart attack wasn't the first time, and his father managed to wake up by the end, he wouldn't be surprised if the doctor come with the announcement that he is alive, once again.

Not that he would be care if he's dead, as well.

“Tch, what a waste of time.” he lifted himself from his seat, Yunho whipped his head and glared at his younger brother, his ignorant and uncaring remark sure didn't miss Yunho's earshot. Yonghwa casually walked through the alley, ignoring his older brother piercing stare.

“Jung Yonghwa, where are you going?”

“To buy a coffee, or home, if I feel like it.” he replied with no concern.

Suddenly, he felt the collar of his shirt was pulled by somebody, a jab was thrown to his face, a hard hit, that made his body fell to the ground.

“Jung Yonghwa, you're staying here, and that's that!” his nostrils flared, Yunho's loud bellow silenced every Jungs in their surroundings. The punch that Yunho had given cut Yonghwa's lips, he spat the blood to the floor of the hospital.

“Why should I listen to you?” he dared in his question.

“Because I'm your elder brother, and if you're Father's son, you will stay.” he demanded.

“That's not your decision to make, Jung Yunho. You have never been my brother, I never thought we were.”

“You rascal..” Yunho's blood rushed, another punch was about to land on Yonghwa's face, but Ji Hoon caught Yunho's fist before he executed the punch.

“Move, Ji Hoon, that boy need's to be taught a lesson. Move before you get yourself punched as well.” he ordered, but the eldest brother refused to step aside and his grip upon Yunho's fist stiffened, Yunho's bones felt cracks inside.

“Jung Yunho, if you are Father's son, you will sit down and do as I told. Whatever you say to Yonghwa was based on your own personal feeling, and I couldn't accept that, not for now.” his order was stern, his brows fused, it was not the usual Ji Hoon that Yunho usually sees everyday, he was angry, but he was still in the right state of mind.

Yunho released his hand from Ji Hoon's grip, and his hand felt limp after he did so. He immediately sat on the chair near him.

Yonghwa gathered himself up, and was about to continue walking out from the hospital's alley.

“Yonghwa, I won't use violence to stop you like Yunho did, and especially not in the hospital, you're free to go if that's what you want.”

“That's exactly what I'm going to do, no one, will stop me from going.” he replied shortly and continude.

“Fine, but just don't regret if you're the only who didn't see the last of him.” Ji Hoon's sentence stopped Yonghwa from walking further.

Everyone gasped, but Yonghwa.

“Jung Ji Hoon, what are you saying?! Stop talking nonsense and get back to your seat!” his mother commanded, but the eldest didn't listen.

“Come on, Yonghwa. You're a gifted child as well, you have it within you. There's a difference in this one. ” he snickered, the others heard Ji Hoon like he was talking nonsense.

Only Yonghwa understood what he meant, “I don't know what you're talking about.” and he chose to pretend that he didn't.

“Don't pretend, Jung Yonghwa. You know what I'm talking about.”

“Look, I don't give a damn, alright? Whether that old man's alive

A blow from emergency's room doors interrupted their controversy, Kwon Boa, had exited the emergency room.

Yunho briskly held her shoulders tightly, “Boa-shi, how's our father?!”

She could only shake her head once, a weak shake.

We're losing him, Yunho-shi.”

Yonghwa felt his stomach burned.

The crisis in her family occurred unbeknownst to the youngest, who's the only one that's absent from her own father's emergency operation. The Jungs didn't forgot about her, it's just they just can't decide whether it's an absolute fact that it's an emergency or not, because this has happened more than once, and the last time it happened, Mr. Kwon did message all Jungs not to bother families abroad because of him.

Thus, she was left clueless.

Unnie, I have a bad feeling.” she blurted out in the middle of her cooking time with Victoria for dinner, her senses were telling her that something was wrong, but she couldn't tell what.

Victoria was a bit startled, this was not the first time Krystal said she has a bad feeling, and usually, if she said so, then something bad is going to happen for sure.

She took off her apron and hang it on the hangers, turning off the stove, and immediately took Krystal to sit on the side of the bed. “Okay, tell me, what is it? Is it because of the college that starts tomorrow?”

Krystal shook her head, “Ani, I don't think we will encounter any problem tomorrow. We have prepared everything perfectly fine, I just feel..it's something else, but I'm not quite sure.”

Victora put her finger below her cheek, she had to think the other possibilities, otherwise she could earn the sap of Krystal's bad feeling.

Victoria jolted, “Oh, wait! Sulli's grabbing stocks of food to the convenience store, could it be..”

Krystal cracked a little laugh, “You're exagerrating it, Unnie. Lawson is right next to our hotel, what could've happened?”

The older blonde pouted, “I was just speculating upon your bad feeling.”

I don't think it has got to do with the three of us.”

Another idea popped in Victoria's mind, “Tell me, is it about your family?”

She didn't know what based her answer, but she nodded.

But, that's very unlikely, Yunho Oppa just gave you massive frequent calls lately before you even entered college, right? He didn't mention any problem, right?” Krystal nodded once more, but not a slightest conviced facial features appeared on her face. She had a feeling this bad sentiment strongly related to her family.

Victoria caressed her dongsaeng's hair with affection, who looked so restless, even though they spent the previous days just fine, she had to come up with a solution to rest her heart for now.

Want to try to call your brothers?”

Her face brightened, Victoria huffed in relieve, finally she was able to catch her breath.

They decided to use Krystal's cellphone which is always ready to go international, they chose which brother they should pick, definitely not Yunho, as she knew that he would extend the conversation as much as he can, Yonghwa's not a choice either, since the last time the lad cut the line before Krystal could've even speak more than 5 sentences.

Last resort, they chose to call Ji Hoon, best option.

Pick up, pick up, pick up.” The ringing tone put Krystal's heartbeart in a race, the longer the ring sounded, more anxious she became. Few minutes has passed, but the older brother didn't pick up his cellphone, instead, busy tone.

The number you're calling is—” the girls didn't bother to hear the continuity of the operator's voice, Krystal was became increasingly concerned, last time, it didn't take a minute until Ji Hoon pick up his phone, she checked her watch and counted the time difference, an hour difference between Seoul and Singapore. Ji Hoon's working hours should have finished, but why doesn't he answer? She couldn't help but to ask.

Try Jin Woon Oppa.” Krystal quickly followed Victoria's suggestion, punching Jin Woon's number (somehow, Krystal found only Jin Woon's numbers were convenient to put in rather than finding him in the contacts) and clicked the loudspeaker so Victoria could hear him out too.

Busy tone.

Both Krystal and Victoria were panicking, thinking that their options were have ran out. They looked at each other, maybe Krystal's other brothers, Yunho or Yonghwa might as well become their option as they know both Ji Hoon and Jin Woon were busy. Soon, the youngest Jung called all of brothers she hasn't try to connect, punching their numbers frustratedly, ended up to another busy tones.

Darn it! Why aren't they picking up?!” Krystal groaned unpatiently, the panic feeling haunted her once again, could it be, her bad feeling came to live?

She has no other option,

Or maybe, a sister must be called instead.

Victoria wanted to suggest this idea that appeared on her mind, but seeing Krystal in such a high temper, added with the bad relationship between these sisters that she's aware of, she didn't want add an oil to the fire.

Without an instruction from the older blonde, Krystal sighed, but she searched her name from the contacts' list, Jessica Jung.

Unnie, pick up, pick up, pick up, please..just this once..” she sounded so desperate waiting for her blonde sister to answer her phone. It took a few minutes as well before Jessica answered.

But she, above everyone else, answered Krystal's call.

Unnie! Thank god, phew, I thought I would be lost...”

There was no reaction from Jessica.

But Krystal was used with this cold demeanor, with her, has to be straight to the point, otherwise the call would be meaningless.

Unnie, how's our family? Everything's fine, right?” having these question answered, then she would turn off the cellphone once Jessica's done answering.

Much to her surprise, Jessica paused.

To her irritation, Krystal couldn't take it any longer, “Unnie! Answer me!”

Krystal..”

She stopped breathing, somehow the way Jessica talked made her tense.

..everything's fine, don't worry.”

Victoria breathed a sigh as she heard what Jessica has said, but Krystal didn't.

Unnie, what's wrong?”

Nothing's wrong, dammit! Didn't you get my message?! I'm hanging up, what a nuisance. Don't you dare to call again!” Jessica hung up annoyedly, leaving Krystal answered, with an answer she didn't really expect, not with that tone.

She quickly turned her head to Victoria. “Something's wrong, Vic Unnie. Definitely.”

Dear, Krystal, aren't you satisfied with Unnie's answer just then? She said everything's fine, no need to worry. What more do you ask?”

She sounded so..disturbed, it's weird..”

Well, maybe because you're spoiling her Sunday night? Unlike you, she has no responsibility to go to the college tomorrow morning. I couldn't think it any other way.” Victoria speculated, trying to perish worries and fears inside Krystal, she couldn't help but to think the same way as she is, but her responsibility is to comfort her, not the other way around.

But—!”

Ssst! No buts, Jung Soo Jung! I've tried to help you and we already find the solution of your prejudice, no need to prolong this much longer, we'll finish our dinner and go to bed straight. Clear?” Victoria found it necessary to be strict upon this matter, otherwise, Krystal would always put her mind on this, and she's afraid if Krystal kept this thought for too long, it could come true as bad as she thought.

Like a daughter that's been scolded by her mother, Krystal surrendered, “...Okay, Victoria Unnie. I'm sorry for being a nuisance.”

Great, that's how you suppose to act. Now, where's Sulli? She hasn't returned yet? I thought you said Lawson is right next to our hotel.”

Speak of the devil, Choi Sulli barged in to their room with a broad smile, lifting couples of plastic bags in her hand gleefully, “I'm sorry I took so long! Lawson didn't have the meats that I wanted so I went across to Seven Eleven instead! Yup, tonight we're going to have a meat party! Cheer, girls!”

Victoria mentally slapped her face, a meat, in the night, totally a way to ruin her perfect diet.

Still, a night won't hurt, she thought. Who knows, Krystal might let go her nasty thoughts off her by eating meats, the mother of the group was that concerned about her.

Alright, then! Ssul, since you're the one who bought it, you'll be the one who's cooking it as well! Turn on the stove! Now! Once dinner's over, off to bed! Clear?” Sulli nodded dumbfoundedly, somehow she found Victora was more spirited than she was before she took of to the convenience store, but it didn't matter, at least she let her to eat meat.

Victoria whipped her hair, turning her head to the youngest lass, “We're going to eat meat now, isn't that what you wanted?”

Krystal snapped from her lost thought once she found Victoria was speaking to her, “Ah? Neh neh! Of course!”

However, despite that her wish was granted, she couldn't find herself smiling, Jessica's odd voice still concerned her, badly.

Meanwhile in Seoul National Hospital, Jessica, who just called Krystal for a brief time, stood still like a stone in the corner of the room, looking at the cellphone she just used to call her younger sister, her eyes were glimmering with tears, few drops have fallen to the floor, the floor of emergency room, her father's emergency room.

She heavily tilted her head to the bed on her left, she sobbed with a smile while looking her father sleeping on the bed.

Daddy, I..have called..Krys..I..I kept my promise right? Not to tell anything...about you? Right..? Now you have to wake up..praise me..like you always did..please..” the smile she just had faded, turned into a weep on her face, she approached Mr. Jung's bed, which's surrounded by the other Jung family members, they were literally crying their heart out, seeing the helpless old man sleeping on the bed, with no chance to wake up any longer.

A green straight line was formed in the machine that detected Mr. Jung's heartbeat stopped ticking, the sound was like a sirene, loud and clear.

Time of death, 20.12 P.M.” Boa reported, “You have my condolences...everyone.”

Mr. Jung was no longer a citizen of the living world, that night.
