"Hey sleepy head.." Kai said to you quietly as you opened your eyes. 

"Kai.. what are you doing here?" You asked slowly confused as to how he'd gotten into your room but being oddly comfortable with it.

"You left you window unlocked last night." Kai said playing with your hair. 

"Ah, yeah.. the breeze was so nice.." you said smiling slightly then shutting your eyes again. "Do I have to get up now?" you whispered.

"No, sleep as long as you want. You are now living in the days of summer vacation." Tao said to you jokingly, your eyes were shut but you felt him close to you. His hot breath on your cheek, his voice closer.

You woke up again, the air in the room hot and humid and Kai wasn't there. "How long did I sleep?" You thought to yourself, going down stairs.

"Ah, good afternoon." Kai said to you as you came into the kitchen. He was sitting at the table with your dad, they had plates in front f them that seemed to be clean. "We were just finishing up lunch.. we didn't want to wake you." You smiled.

"Kai, you really are the best friend ever." you said looking him in the eyes.

"Well, I try." he joked. You walked over to your dad, "did you like it? Kai can cook really well can't he dad?" you said to him, feeling this hope you hadn't felt in years. That maybe your dad would respond, even in the slighest way. He didn't though and disappointment fell on your face. Kai got up collecting the plates and squeezed your shoulder, "Its going to happen, just be patient." he said to you, trying to encourage you. You just gave him a small smile in return.

You went back up stairs to get dressed for the day. Kai and you were going to go to the local market and see what little knick knacks and fresh fruit you could find there for reasonable prices.

"This is going to be a nice summer break." You said heading out the door. 

"Yeah, just me and you, going to the market every afternoon. Sounds like a plan." Kai said wrapping his elbow around yours. You laughed and you guys walked, elbow around elbow, to the local market.

Kai and you countinued to go to the market everyday for the rest of summer break, getting vegetables and nice decorations for your house to lighten it up a bit, when you had extra money to spend. Kai and you even found an old cook book filled with some of Korea's best dishes that you guys spent the days trying to master.

"You know Kai, I feel like I can go back to school this semester with an entirely clean slate.." you said while you were stirring daenjang chigae, Korean bean paste stew. 

"Yeah, I feel that way too.. this summer break was really needed. I feel refreshed." Kai laughed. You laughed too. This was perfect. You and your best friend making stew in your little kitchen which you, him, your dad, and his mum were all going to feast on for the last night of summer vacation. You took in a deep breath and smiled, as if to memorize everything about this night.

Hey everyone! It's been forever right? I'm finally back - for good! I'm going to finish this fanfic without taking a several month leave again. I'm so sorry it has taken this long.. And the chapter I come back with isn't much right? I know, I know.. sorry. It's supposed to be short though, just to sum up their summer break quickly. Honestly, I don't remember where I was going with the summer break idea so I had to do something with it, right? Haha, I even had to reread  my whole fanfic just to make sure I am going to countinue on the right track! >.<" So yeah, definantly, never again will I take a break as LONG as that one was!
