Daehyun unlock the door as he took off his shoes.

You followed quietly behind him.

 

‘Oh, Daehyun-ah you’re back.’ His mother greeted him and then stared at you in surprise.

 

‘Oh, who is this young pretty lady? Come in!’ His mother smiled at you.

Out of courtesy, you smiled back at her too.

 

‘You’re just in time for dinner.

Aigoo, Daehyun-ah you should have told me you’re bringing a friend along.

I would have cooked more.’

His mother said as she usher you both to the dining table.

‘So who’s this pretty lady?’ Daehyun’s father, Mr. Jung asked as you sat down.

He looks friendly too.

You bowed at him shyly.

 

‘Uh, she’s ~~~~~~.’ Daehyun introduced you.

You blushed as you Daehyun said you name.

It’s been so long since you last heard someone calling you by the name.

It gave you a warm and fuzzy feeling.

 

‘How old are you, ~~~~-sshi?’ His mother asked.

 

You counted on your fingers before answering her,

‘I’m 831 years old.’

 

Daehyun’s parents looked at you weirdly as Daehyun facepalmed.

‘She meant that she’s 19.’

 

You smiled and mentally hit yourself.

You forgot that you’re talking to humans and of course,

humans rarely live pass 100 years old.

 

‘So, are you Daehyun’s friend?’ his mother asked.

 

‘Just an acquaintance actually.’ Daehyun answered before you could and you pouted.

‘And she’ll be staying over here for a few months.’

 

‘Why?’

 

You looked at Daehyun and bit your lip.

Daehyun froze too.

He hadn’t come up with a reason yet.

 

Looking at Daehyun still struggling, you decided to act fast.

 

You buried your face into your hands and sobbed.

They looked at you surprised.

 

‘Ah, don’t cry ~~~~~-sshi!’ His mother rushed over to you with a box of tissue.

 

‘M-my parents are killed and my bad uncle is searching after me

. He wanted to sell me away as a slave.

I don’t know why so i escaped and asked Daehyun for help.

Please let me stay.’ You sobbed.

 

‘Of course, my dear! Of course.’ Daehyun mother wrapped her arms around you

to comfort you as Daehyun gave you a baffled look.

*wow, she sure can act.*

‘How was my acting skills? Not bad ey?’ You laughed as you sat on his bed.

Daehyun just shrugged while looking through his closet for a shirt for you to wear.

 

He handed you a shirt and pushed you into the bathroom.

‘I hope you don’t forget how to wash up after not doing it for hundreds of years.’

Daehyun said with a hint of sacarsm in his tone.

 

You stuck your tongue out at him as you slammed the door shut.

After Daehyun had his shower too, you pinched your nose.

‘Did you really take a bath? You still stink.’

 

‘That’s because i bath using a special type of water that will keep spirits away from me.

Normally, you should be screaming and running away.

But i’m amused that you can still stand the smell.’

Daehyun explained.

 

‘Ah, maybe because i’m a half human now.’

You said in a funny voice because you’re pinching your nose and that made Daehyun laugh.

 

‘Come, let me bring you to your room.’

You jumped onto your bed.

‘Ah, the comfortable bed! Feels like heaven!’ You spread your arms wide and rolled around the bed.

 

Daehyun just shook his head.

‘Sleep tight.  I’ll leave for school early tomorrow so you have to be by yourself until 3pm.’

 

‘W-wait. I want to go to school too. Education is important i mean.’ You grinned at him.

 

‘What? You want to go to school? Why?’

 

You shrugged.

‘I’m a human now. I must live like a human and

if i don’t go to school, your parent will get suspicious.’

 

Daehyun rolled his eyes.

You’re right.

‘J-just sleep. I’ll wake you up tomorrow.’

 

As Daehyun was about to close the door behind him,

you said ‘Daehyun, thank you and good night!’

 

He shut the door and smiled to himself.
