Daehyun sat by the side of the bed. He caressed your face with his right hand gently.

‘~~~~-ah, please wake up. It’s been two days.’

He whispered softly and leans down to kiss your forehead.

 

‘I’m sorry for not talking to you and ignoring you, ~~~~.’

He suddenly confessed as there was no one in the room.

‘Just please wake up.’

 

There was no response from you.

‘I have so many things i wanted to tell you.’

Daehyun sighed looking at you with his eyes filled with guilt.

 

Your fingers moved slightly as your eyelids fluttered open.

The blinding ceiling light caused you to squint your eyes.

You let out a groan as you sat up and looked around.

 

*Am I in the hospital?*

 

‘~~~~-ah. You’re awake.’ Daehyun shook you softly by the shoulders.

Once you saw Daehyun, you immediately hugged him and cried in his shoulders.

 

‘D-daehyun ah.. i was so scared. I thought i would d-die.’ You sobbed.

Daehyun was shocked at your sudden movement but quickly patted you on your back,

wrapping his arms around you.

 

‘It’s alright now. I’m here.’ He whispered as he your messy hair.

You sobbed harder.

 

‘Daehyun, p-please don’t ignore m-me ever a-gain.’ You choked.

‘I won’t. I promise.’ His heart ached to see you cry.

‘I’ll go get the nurse.’

 

‘No! D-don’t leave me.’

You continued to sob in his arms as he comforted you.

 

‘I-i.. I r-remembered.’ You said softly once you have calmed down.

Your tears smeared all over your face and on Daehyun’s shirt but he didn’t mind.

 

‘Remembered what?’ He asked in a soft tone.

‘H-how I-i died...’ You said softly.

 

Daehyun stopped and looked at you.

You looked up at him with red puffy eyes.

‘I-i was chased by s-some men a-and.. a-and they threw me into the w-well.’

You let out a sniffle.

 

Daehyun’s eyes enlarged at each and every word you said.

He has never thought that you died such a cruel death.

‘N-now all that matters is that you’re here, ~~~~. I’m here and no one can harm you.’

He kissed your forehead lightly which caused you to pull back.

 

‘Y-you just kissed me...’ You touch your forehead as your face turned red.

 

Realizing what he has done, Daehyun quickly thought of an excuse.

‘I-i was just comforting you. N-nothing more than that.’

 

You didn’t argue back as you weren’t feeling too well.

You just nodded at him shyly.

‘Next time, please don’t ignore me again. I’m sorry.’ You said out of the blue.

 

‘I should be apologizing. I was being selfish and i wasn’t thinking right. Sorry.’

He scratched the back of his neck.

 

Suddenly the door slides open revealing a girl.

You’ve seen her before somewhere, but you couldn’t remember.

 

‘~~~~-ah, i heard you got admitted to the hospital.’ She said.

‘Did you forget me? I’m Hyeri, remember?’

 

You nodded.

*Ah, the girl that previously warned me to stay away from Daehyun*

 

‘Are you feeling better?’ Hyeri smiled as she puts the bouquet of flowers

that she brought with her on the small table by the side.

 

‘I remember you.’ Daehyun pointed out. ‘You’re that girl in class.

We used to be lab partners once but your friend dragged you away,

leaving me to do the experiment myself.’

 

‘S-sorry about that.’ Hyeri let out a laugh.

 

Daehyun just sighed and he told you that he would go inform the doctor that you’re awake.

You pleaded him to stay but he told you firmly that he needs to inform the doctor so you let him go.

 

‘Take care of her for a moment.’ Daehyun told Hyeri as he walks out of the room.

The both of you stayed in silence for a brief moment until Hyeri cleared .

 

‘~~~~~.’

‘Yes?’

‘You.. You remembered how you died, right?’ She asked which caught you offguard.

‘W-what? How d-did you know?’

 

‘I’m like you, ~~~~.’

‘I don’t understand.’

‘I’m an angel, ~~~~~. I was sent here to complete a task.

I have been noticing you since the day you walked into our school.’

Hyerie explained. You looked at her with a shock expression plastered on your face.

 

‘You made a contract with Jung Daehyun didn’t you?’

You nodded at her question.

‘And do you realize that you don’t have much time left?’

 

‘What do you mean?’

 

‘You had flashbacks of how you die if the first sign to show you that you’re about to die soon.

Or to put it in other words, you will turn back into a devil soon.’ Hyeri said with a calm expression.

 

‘H-how much time do i left?’ You faced paled, thinking that you will have to leave the human world,

leave your new friends, leave Daehyun.

 

‘Only you know about it, ~~~~~. But let me warn you, if you don’t finish you task soon,

you will have to be sent to The Abyss.’ Hyeri said as her eyes softened.

 

‘No.. Not there. I don’t want too.’ A look of panic washed over your face.

 

‘Then you have to finish your task quickly.’ She said. ‘Good luck.’ With that she disappeared in to thin air.

*I don't want to be sent to The Abyss..*

 

‘Oh, where is Hyeri?’ Daehyun asked as he walked into the room.

Your mind is in a mess and your face looks pale.

 

‘The doctor said you can be discharged later when my parents get here to sign you out.’

 

You didn’t reply nor look at Daehyun, you fixed your gaze on the floor as your eyebrows furrow together.

 

‘I-is something wrong? You look pale.’ Daehyun held your chin and looked at you.

‘I-i’m fine, Daehyun. Just a little thirsty.’

‘I’ll go get you some water.’

 

‘No, it’s fine.’ You pulled Daehyun down for a hug.

‘Please just stay like this for a moment. I’m scared.’ You admitted softly.

 

Daehyun softened, looking at this vulnerable side of you.

He tightens his hug around you.

 

‘~~~~ BABY~!!!! I HEARD YOU WOKE UP!!’ Someone burst through the door.

Knowing who it was, Daehyun let out a groan and let go of you.

 

‘Himchan oppa.. Yongguk oppa.’ You greeted them.

 

‘We heard that you were admitted into the hospital. Are you feeling better now?’

Yongguk asked as he touches your forehead.

You smiled at him and nodded.

 

‘~~~~ ah, Daehyun was so mean. He wouldn’t let me visit you.’ Himchan complained and glared at the grumpy Daehyun.

Seems like Daehyun didn't like Himchan much.

 

You let out a light laugh as you listen to Himchan’s never ending complaints about Daehyun.

 

*I have not much time left, i must finish my task and leave.. but i want to stay by their side a longer. What should i do?*
